Twas the day after Thanksgiving...

I got up yesterday morning with quite a few things on my list to do! Pack up everything orange, brown and any pumpkins, pilgrims etc Done! Start getting my Santa hat all situated, done! Do something to start getting the Christmas spirit, done! I started out with this...
I have been wanting to put words on my mantle. Well, it is a little scary but hey, Tracy did it... so did I. Looks pretty cute. Will look more festive when I get the mantle all decorated with Christmas goodies. But not yet!
So, I got out the Christmas books. Perhaps they will be read more than if still packed away. The little boot came from an Estate Sale-$5.00. Isn't it cute?
This book of memories stays out year round.
So, fellow bloggers-that's all of the Christmas I can show you today. The rest is sitting in tubs and boxes upstairs.

I haven't done the drawing yet for the ornaments-errrr they are missing but I am sure they will be found soon and on their way to one of you lucky winners.

Much of my day was spent running back and forth getting new tires on my honey's truck. The only shopping I did was to take something back at Bath and Body Works and run in at Michael's for a couple of things. My honey has been on vacation and he has been busy the entire week. Cleaned the gutters and put guards on, washed both vehicles, fixed two dripping faucets, blew leaves, cleaned the garage, you get the picture. Now, he has been working for 37 years, contemplating retiring-perhaps a week off will cure that:) He is just busy all the time-working at work or working at home. OK... today perhaps we will get up in the attic and have something more spectacular to show you in the next blog!

Have a blessed day!

Very nice Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope all of you did too! We had WAY too much food, lots of people... laughing and talking. Oh sweet family! I love it when we are all together. Here are a few pictures.

I wanted to show you the before and after in Tracy's basement. Looked pretty cute. Tracy had a great idea and posted the little girls Thanksgiving pictures that they had made at school. Great decorations and Alex and Avery enjoyed looking at all the things they had made. Better than filed away in a cabinet:)

Justin was with us and we were all thankful for that. He blessed the food and what a sweetheart he is. He gave his Mama a diamond necklace for Christmas.
Here he is playing the piano.
This is the football watching group.
And here is the playing in the playroom group. Alex, Avery and Kaliana! Madison, My Great-Great Niece! Autumn and Bradley's girlfriend, Libby!

And last but certainly not least, Britani...

So, Thanksgiving 2009 is gone! Christmas is next as Alex told me, she said "after Thanksgiving is Christmas"! She is correct. I have to change my header and pack away the pilgrims. I will start focusing on Christmas, it will be here before you know it.. I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving and enjoy your Friday! Love to all!

Thanksgiving finally here!

One thing about blogging, holidays can't sneak up on you because we talk about it for weeks:) That isn't a bad thing either! But... it is finally Thanksgiving Day and I hope all of you will have a great one! Next thing we will start talking about is Christmas:) I am thankful for so many things and would you just look at this on Thanksgiving EVE, beautiful roses BLOOMING!

The weather is going to be beautiful, temperature perfect, Justin (my Marine nephew) is home for the holiday and the weekend! Can't get much better than that! Great food and special time spent with family.... Thankful!

Love to all and may God bless you all and keep you safe!

Not a dull moment in my day!

My day started out with some good hot coffee and busy as a bee from there. I went to put some fall flowers on my Mama and Daddy's grave. I had not been there lately and it was making my heart hurt. I always put something there for every occasion and normally they would have already had some bright fall flowers. NOW THEY DO! I will leave them there about a week and then redo with Christmas. They are in an old fashioned cemetery where you don't have to do just one flower:) I like that. Here it is with bright fall flowers and isn't it pretty?
I left there and stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things that I forgot at Kroger. Crickets in my phone, (my ringtone for my Sister, Barbara) What? the countertops are coming a day early.... Yipppeee... They are gorgeous!

While I was there, this fella peeked his head in.
This is Todd, I named him "Big Todd" because we had a little one too:) He was one of our wonderful Church volunteers, someone stopped by Monday night and stole one of his expensive pieces of equipment. MEAN PEOPLE. This is a really Godly Man, he said "perhaps whoever stole it will sell it and buy something for Christmas"! He wasn't upset or mad, WOW! What a guy! Just wondering, what kind of people pull up in a yard full of stuff, obviously out of sorts and steal something. They need a good 'ole fashioned whooping!

And I got to see my Great-Great-Niece, isn't she too cute?

I left there and went back home to piddle around the house. Ring Ring, "Mom... want some visitors for a little while"? , "Sure", I said! So, here they come... not for long but we had a wonderful time. Here are the girls, they dressed themselves. P-R-E-C-i-O-U-S!!!!!!

And here is Austin and his friend, Max! They dressed themselves too, hehe!
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all of you! Be safe on your journeys!

Thanksgiving thoughts!

I received this sweet card from my Sister, Cindylou yesterday! Read what it says....

Warm Thoughts, Loving Thanks, Happy Memories! Thanks Sis! I decided to walk around my house and take some pictures of Thanksgiving decor. Before you know it, I will be packing it away and bringing out the Christmas goodies.

These two cuties came from an estate sale several years ago... $1.00 each!

I bought these last year at the end of the season on clearance at Target. There were three of them.

These are the Publix pilgrims in my header and the spoon rest!

And the third Target clearance candle with some fall leaves on my mantle.

I stopped by Kroger on my way home and it was PACKED. I only really needed a few things but decided to buy my groceries for Thanksgiving day. I am really excited to enjoy some time with family and eat some "sure to be delicious" food!

Love to all and enjoy your day, whatever you do!

Lazy day makes me want to have a giveaway!

Got up on Sunday determined to go to Church in spite of the yucky weather! It was a strange service, strange but good. The singers sang, we all sang, clapped, prayed, sang, Preacher Tommy preached right smack dab in the middle of the singing. Rhonda, Kerry and Robert joined the Church and we all hugged. Oh, forgot to mention that they sang Precious Memories... not a good song if you don't like to cry. Couldn't help it! Stopped by Kohl's on the way home to make a return and back home. Then... my blogger friends, I sat my booty on the sofa... after changing from my Church clothes into whatever was in the laundry room, seriously I didn't even want to walk upstairs to change clothes. So, in case you were wondering... I had washed clothes on Saturday morning at 6AM, had a long sleeved red shirt and my Sunday jeans... remember the ones I tore the knee out of on Halloween night? "Holy" get it, Sunday jeans:) My purple fleece sock and my black camisole that I wore to Church. OH MY, I am cute. I still have on my sparkly necklace. I watched football games, back to back... the races and more football.

Well by 5PM I felt worthless:) Up I popped from my happy place on the sofa to load the dishwasher, sort Christmas presents and pull gifts for the kids shopping mall at Church. I gathered coat hangers for my Sister, Barbara, since most of hers were damaged in the flood. Now I had already scanned the newpaper ads for any shopping to do this week and that's about all. I did read the daily blogs that I just can't miss.

Let's see what I can do to make this a more exciting post. I got it... A GIVEAWAY:) Leave a comment and tell me something you are thankful for. That's all! I have some vintage Christmas ornaments coming your way. Seriously people, cute ones that were purchased at an estate sale and I am in a sharing mood. So, tell me what you are thankful for and win, win, win.

Love you all and hopefully today I will get the lead out.

Saturday all over the place!

Saturday morning, I woke up at 6AM. Got up and went down to turn the coffee on and do my morning blogging:) I never stopped until bedtime. First thing Autumn had a game at 10AM and I wanted to take my Sister some chairs that I have had in the attic for many years. Well, I walked in she was crying real big tears. I said "What's wrong"? She said "Everything is Perfect"! and gave me this little book. How sweet!

There were lots of sweetness in this tiny book but the last page was the sweetest! Thanks, SIS

I stopped by between every game and went over to the flea market to look for tables for her.
Jerry finished refinishing her kitchen table and it turned out beautiful. Here are some pictures from the ballgame and our visit with my Sister at her "new" house!

This was Autumn's last fall tournament. They played 16 and under again. Won 4 games and lost 2. So no tournament on Sunday for the Prowlers.

These two were pretending to be asleep. Trust me this was perhaps the only time they were still all day:)

Here is my sweet Sister and Alex. They are call her Dear Nanny! Autumn named her that when she was a little girl. When we were leaving the ballfield to go over there, Alex told her Daddy that Dear Nanny's new house was "FABULOUS"!

This is my Brother-in-law Jerry with Alex. They call him Poppy! He has worked so hard to get this house back together daylight to dark. He is tired and I hope he gets some much deserved rest soon.

OK... Sunday is here, it's Thanksgiving week. I have so much to be Thankful for, including all of you!

Have a blessed day!
