Meet the Parents...

We talk about the grandchildren so much, well... they have Parents:) The Parents had a date night, dinner and a show at the Fox, Jersey Boys. Pa and I had special guests. Autumn went to Rileys and the rest spent the afternoon/evening/night with Me and Pa! We had a ball. They swam and played and played and swam. Then we went inside and ordered wings and chicken fingers. I made my dessert for the Sunday lunch at Church and made little ones for the guests. Anyway, here are a few pictures from our FUN day! Avery in the blow-up car:)
Alex needed a warm-up! Austin is so tall and handsome! Alex in the little blow-up car:)Avery in her little apron cooking up some delicious dinner! Austin and Alex were upstairs playing Game Cube!
Shhhhh... they are all still sleeping and I have got the coffee brewing! The early morning is one of my favorite times of the day. I have one more dish to make for the Church lunch and would like to get it done before I hear the pitter-patter of tiny tootsies on the floor upstairs!

Love you all and have a wonderful day!

Last day of school-Estate Sale

Well Friday was the last day of school for these faces that I have seen every day of the school year. They all agreed that this was the fastest year ever. Another school year gone. I will miss hearing all the gossip, who's going out with who etc. But the summer will be gone before you know it! Enjoy each moment.
After I dropped them off, I went to the Estate Sale and was WAY back in the line.
It started at 9AM but at 8:45 I was like number 37. I figured that all the items I wanted would be gone, but that just wasn't the case. This is the house, built in 1909 and was full of a lifetime of treasures. I got the dishes I didn't need and some more good stuff, will show later.

Then Tracy asked me to stop by her office and I got these two nice gifts for being the bus driver for Autumn. This cute little fat frog....
and this beautiful climbing mandevilla.
Thanks Tracy, although the pleasure was all mine:)

My cousin, Marie is temporarily in a nursing home. She will be 55 in October and has liver cancer. My three sisters and I met at Cindylou's house and headed on a journey to Griffin to the nursing home to visit Marie and sit with our precious Aunt, we call "FooFoo"! We got lost, went way out of the way but finally got there and stayed long enough to know that the situation is not very good. Marie isn't eating very much at all and has lost 40 lbs. I pray for her daily and my sweet Aunt who is right there by her daughter's side. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Now... all of us sisters enjoyed each other's company down there and back and we were all glad that we went.

Love you all and enjoy your Saturday!

Estate sale-go or not go?

Thursday was a shopping day for teacher gifts for Austin's teachers. Tracy was going to go but I was out and hey... shopping is my middle name so I volunteered to help. Here they are all ready to go! We are having a house warming on Sunday for our Preacher, so I had to get him a gift too, not pictured! Now for Friday...

Ok blogger buddies, there is an estate sale this morning. I LOVE estate sales. I love to go and dig around in other peoples memorabilia/junk. It runs in my family:) I can see something beautiful out of what might appear to be a piece of crap to the "untrained eye". How could you NOT buy this little wooden outhouse for $1.00? Heck at the last estate sale I went to I bought an old metal toy tractor that I don't need. It was $20 and I had to bring it home with me. What? It has real rubber tires and the steering wheel turns.
The good news is that there are so many great things at these sales. Like this treasure, anybody know what this is, I bought it too:) Didn't even know what it was~~) It will find a home in the pool house.

The bad news is that I have so many things that need to be painted and/or refinished, I REALLY don't need anything. This sale today has a beautiful set of dishes, that I REALLY don't need but they would make a great "Thursday tablescape" . The house was built in 1909, hmmm.

I can't decide whether to go or not. OK.... off to the Estate sale as soon as I take Miss Autumn to school for her very last day of 7th grade:( You see I AM the school bus and have been since I retired... Love it! My bus is white instead of yellow.
What will I do now that I don't have to get out and take her, sleep in? Nope, not a chance... since I retired 7 years ago after 30 years of getting up... I will still get up just like always. Crazy? Probably, but it is just what keeps me kicking, R-O-U-T-I-N-E!!!!!!!!!!

Love you all and I'll report back on what goodies I get at the Estate sale!

***We are also visiting my cousin, Marie who has liver cancer today! PLEASE continue to remember her in your prayers and my sweet Aunt!***

Awards day and Grace move!

Austin had awards first thing Wednesday morning 8:15AM and he got honor roll and perfect attendance. He is so tall and handsome and always proud to have his family visit school for any reason. I know that doesn't last forever but for now he still likes to have us there.
After the awards ceremony, I went home to hook up the trailer, get my work gloves, put on some work clothes and back to Grace for day two of the move. When I got there they had already left with about 6 cars and trucks filled. We loaded my trailer and several more trucks and trailers and off we went to the new Preschool home.
Lots more work to do before school starts but at least all the stuff is there. Mrs. Beth is the director and has been there for over 20 years. She was so thankful for my help, as was all the teachers. Mrs. Beth asked me if I would like to have this little birdhouse. I said yes and thank you! Now ain't this the cutest thing? Noah's Ark birdhouse from Grace Covenant. Love it!
The new preschool has a great outside playground.
I know that this new school will be truly blessed...and here are the new signs!
Here are a few pictures from the old place. This was a tradition that I always take a picture of Tracy walking down this driveway on the first day of school with whichever child is going at the time. This is Miss Avery:)
Look at all these pictures, there were 4 full boards like this and boxes of pictures. lots of love at this place.

Avery's class picture this year. Alex's class picture this year.
The cute little fella in the yellow shirt is my Austin:) Autumn class picture 2000 and she is still friends with the little girl that she is holding hands with.
Well, this was a long walk down memory lane for these four grandchildren and Grace Covenant. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Love you all and have a blessed day.

Packing day at Grace!

Tuesday was back to school after a long vacation weekend, packing day at Grace Covenant Preschool and tired hiney on sofa. After taking Autumn to school this morning I headed up to Grace Covenant Preschool and worked helping pack up the entire place. 20 years worth of stuff. We got it done... moving day today, more work. I had lots of memories while moving the toys out of the basement where all FOUR of the Parrish children have played. The routine is that when they are in the little classes you take them to the basement and they play for a while before they go upstairs. It is now empty. No pictures because I was too busy working to take pictures. We moved all the toys and emptied out every classroom, vacuumed and mopped and my booty was a'draggin when I got home. Piled up on the sofa for a couple of hours and then got busy doing stuff around my own place.

Autumn... texting and waiting on the school to open. They stay in the car when it is humid:) their hair gets frizzy.
Not wanting to get her picture made... in her new shirt that I brought her from Tybee.

Here is a picture of a flower that I watched bud and bloom. It is beautiful... Amarylis Nanny gave me several years ago. I have another one that Tracy gave me but it isn't blooming yet.

Budding...

I was cleaning counter clutter and had this empty bud vase, went to the rose bush and not empty now. Tracy gave me this rose bush when we moved here. It smells heavenly. I think it is call pink passion, it is more of a peach color.

This is a plaque that Tracy gave me when she was a little girl. Not that I am what it says, but that is what she thought and I still have it on my counter. A bit stained but still special to me.

And... the birthday gift that keeps on giving. The blooms only come one at a time but this plant is quite interesting. Gift from Cindy and Brenda...

Love you all and have a blessed day!

The official start of Summer... There was a break in the weather and it was a gorgeous day while we swam. Tracy brought hamburgers and hotdogs, pasta salad, baked beans, chili and it was delicious. Thanks Tracy for feeding us:) Then we had hot fudge cake like at Shoney's. It was a fun day and now we have to get ready for just 4 more days of school.

Love you all and have a blessed day!
