Just a rose, sanding cabinets and overnight guests!

I always look outside in the morning just to see what the weather is like. When I looked out this morning... OH MY, one lone rose blooming. I couldn't wait to get out there and take a closer look. It reminded me of the song, Just a Rose Will Do:) It was so pretty and of course I made it's sweet picture. Look at the leaf that had fallen and perched right beside it.

I ran to my Sister's house and sanded all the cabinets. A donation from people we don't even know. They needed a new face or just some fresh make-up. Lots of cabinets and lots of drawers. Perhaps they will need a little more work but I was proud to get them all sanded down. I think my finger prints are gone:)

I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some grandchildren snacks. Tracy and Derek were having a date night and three of the four children are sleeping at Ganky and Pa's. We had a mexican fiesta... they love that. I buy white cheese dip like at the Mexican restaurant and everyone loves it! We had enchiladas and a taco ring:) Yummy!
This is my little Halloween Pin, isn't it cute? These kids just playing and talking, quite the imaginations:) They are playing with a doll that I bought when Autumn was a little girl. We were in the mountains for our anniversary and the doll was in a doll shop... her name was Autumn. I had to have it.

Austin loves to play video games and Alex does too. He came down and I snapped his picture. Isn't he handsome?

Avery happened upon the Halloween candy, so... I had to move it up in the pantry out of the reach of little hands:) She is having a kit-kat. Alex thought I said tic-tac:)

Fun day! Happy Halloween, BOO!

Hay ride to the pumpkin patch and lunch with friends AGAIN!

Mr. Beth (Mrs. Beth's Husband) took these excited little children on a hay ride to a pumpkin patch (wink wink). They were all sooooo happy and searching, as they rode, for the pumpkin patch. Tracy, Cindylou and I rode in the back of the truck. It was loads of fun and the smiles on these kids faces was just priceless. Alex and Avery picked them a good one and back we went to the school to paint those babies a face!Avery was so happy, smiling constantly... maybe she loves her cute costume?
Each child got their name put on the bottom so that they would be sure they got the exact one they picked:)
Alex on the hayride!

Alex waisted no time, snagged her one right away and off to get her name put on it. Avery was a little slower at grabbing one but she picked a cute one too!

Avery whirled around in the hall for a picture:)

Alex loves this little puppy and had told her Mommy about it. Here she is showing it to me for the picture:)

And off to have lunch with friends that I worked with AGAIN! Three times in two weeks. We don't normally get together quite that often but the one at the bottom left is in town to babysit the sweetie next to her and we don't get to see her that often. Some of the other friends are... next to the baby, Teresa, Marion, we don't know the two men at the end of the table at the top:) top to bottom on the right, Lynn, ME, Joann (she calls herself Jo now... I will still call her Joann) And Bob. He worked with us for a long time in a group mostly consisting of ladies. He just became one of us.

Happy Friday to all of you! I hope you have "spooktacular" day before Halloween!

Guess what I found in my sofa?

My niece, Shannon came Wednesday to help me clean. I am talking about cleaning behind furniture, moving everything out of the room and vacuuming baseboards etc. Well, I have had this vacuum cleaner for probably 20 years and have used it maybe 20 times. It does an excellent job but is a major pain in the booty.
Yesterday was the day when it was needed. It is called a Rainbow, you put water in the bottom and it picks up everything without leaving any dust in the air. Down side is that you have to empty the bottom filled with stuff that you can't believe came out of your house. While cleaning behind my sofa in the den, we flipped the sofa over to make it easier...
... what did I find? THIS, the center comes down... had no idea it was there.
We bought this sofa when we moved in because it was comfortable, REALLY comfortable. I sit on the love seat, it is a rocker as well as double recliner. My honey sits on this sofa. BUT, at no time in the last seven years did either of us have any clue that this was in the middle. It has a telephone and double back massagers as well as drink holders. Go figure, you just never know what you may find while cleaning!

This is my niece and she worked really hard, we got a huge laugh out of finding the center of the sofa surprise:)

The Halloween picture posted yesterday-this is me, stuffed head to toe!
Karen over at http://somedaysarediamonds-karen.blogspot.com/ guessed it correctly!

Here is a picture of a beautiful tree that I saw on my morning journey yesterday! The fall colors are so bright this year, must be all the rain:)
Happy Thursday everybody!

Slow as a turtle to make a change!

Way back in April, I decided that my clock radio needed to go on to clock radio heaven. Well, here it is October... almost November and I am still dealing with that old clock radio. Hey, it still worked. I finally bought a replacement, on clearance at Target for $24.98 which was half price. I can put my ipod or iphone in it. Currently it has my ipod and I have used it to play music, surprisingly good sound. I still haven't tried it as an alarm clock yet, but I will SOON. I am just pretty slow to make a change, even a small one. Here is where I told about my old clock and was determined to replace it. http://theycallmeganky.blogspot.com/2009/04/its-time.html

Here is the replacement, or is it:) I promise as soon as I get a chance to get it all set up, it will be my new wake-up call. I also set my iphone as a back-up, wake-up call... crazy? perhaps a tad:)

Not too much going on yesterday! I went to the Nissan dealership to get my vehicle fixed. I waited for about an hour to see what the problem was and when they said it would be 3-4 hours, I decided not to wait. I took lots of things to keep me busy but not for that long. Now, let me tell you I will use a coupon in a heartbeat and not a bit ashamed. It just so happened that I had a coupon for the Nissan service department. 10%-pretty good coupon.... EVEN WHEN IT COSTS $1000.00. My coupon saved me $100.00. I was surprised that it cost me $900.00 to get my ride back right but hey, it could have been an extra $100.00. They had to remove the gas tank and replace the fuel sending unit. I love my ride and I am not one of those that has to have a new vehicle every year or two. I get a car I love and stick with it, and it makes me sad when I trade it in. I did look at new vehicles while walking my 30 minutes, but just got in mine and drove on back home. Similar to my alarm clock... it still works.

Thanks to my Sister, Cindylou, for picking me up and taking me back to pick my car up. It gave me more time at home TO WORK IN MY CLOSET! How can any one person have sooooo many clothes? My closet looks really good but I have PILES of extra clothes. Next on my career closet cleaning is to clean out the closet where I keep my off season clothes and those are going to Goodwill.

My dinner was delicious. I put pork chops in the crockpot with carrots, onions, mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup. I added a can of french onion soup. Yummy over rice with a salad!

OOPs almost forgot, here is the Halloween picture of the day! Can you pick me out of the crowd? Those who already know-Shhhhhhhhhhh!

Well, friends... that is all I have to talk about. Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Beautiful day!

I didn't have to take Autumn to school because Austin had Student Council early work at school. So... my morning was a little different than others. I have been talking about cleaning my closet and switching out summer to winter clothes for so long. Well, yesterday was the day. I worked in there most of the day and still didn't get finished. I did get out and run to my Sister's house to see a bedroom suite that my cousin gave her and the heat pump given by my Daughter and Son-in-law. Thanks to you all! This is the beauty beside my driveway... Love the fall colors and my little birdhouse.

While on my merry way, my car is doing something weird! The distance to empty shows no distance left but the gas hand showed half a tank. Well I decided to go on and get gas and it truly was empty. The service engine light is on and so... we will be going to the Nissan dealership this morning to get it checked out. Something is wrong for sure.

Austin had a ballgame so I put on a pot of chili and some baked potatoes. Autumn and I took Austin to the ballfield early and I WALKED MY 30 MINUTES! Yipppeeee! It felt good. My iphone has a stopwatch and it came in handy to keep up with my time. Love my phone!

Here is another halloween picture. Alex wanted me to post one of her. She asked yesterday why she didn't get to be in the one with "Crackity Ann" from yesterday's post? So this one is from last Halloween!

This picture wasn't really from Halloween but had some good colorful clowns in it. The baby held by the clown is Autumn. In the front, Jessica is holding Britani, Kristen is holding Bradley, and Justin (our Marine). I have always loved this picture:)

And here are Britani, Justin in the middle and Bradley. The twin's first Halloween:) They are 16 now:(

I am enjoying looking back thru old pictures and sharing them with you all!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

The Week Before Halloween....

She is all dressed up and looking so darn cute! Well, seeing her reminded me of all the years that I dressed up and thought I would share some of those pictures with you. When I worked, Halloween was a huge deal. We had parties and food and contests galore. Thinking back about all those years... a LOT of fun! Looking for the pictures of me dressed up all those years... a LOT of trouble. But I did find some of them. Here I am with my precious Autumn. She called me "Crackity Ann" ! How sweet is that and look at the way she is looking at me. Golly gee, I love that baby... almost 14 now:(

I went back and "thorth" (Autumn said forth that way) as to whether to spread the pictures out or just pile them on you in one post. hmmmmm..... pile them on:) You know that perhaps I will have something else to show you tomorrow! So here is me with Autumn and Austin ... I am the big yellow one:)
I won a trophy for the big bird attire!
And here I am with Autumn and Austin, I am the kitty!

I think I will save a few for tomorrow:) Come back... it is a good one:)

Love you all and have a blessed day!

Church Fall Festival Fun, Fun, Fun!

Saturday night fall festival at Church, weinie roast, marshmellows, cotton candy, popcorn, spacewalk, cake walk, giveaways, trunk of treats... SO MUCH FUN! Tracy and the kids came, Barbara and Jerry came, Cindy and Jeff were in charge of putting it together and they did a superb job! I took sooo many pictures and will share some of them with you!

Weinie roasting, of course we had already had popcorn, cotton candy and boiled peanuts.

Sure was nice that my Sister, Barbara (Nanny) and Jerry came!

They had a game, guess the number of candy corn in the cute little glass pumpkin. John Wilkins and I were each one off, so our Preacher Tommy drew one of our names... ME? I won! Yipppeee!

Autumn and her friend Catherine!

Avery wanted to do some redecorating of the pumpkin display:)

Cindylou doing her thang at the cotton candy machine. She was getting it all over her clothes... so she made a cover-up out of a garbage bag. Smart girl!

L-R Glenda, Regina (I call her Begima) and Brenda Faye. These are Brenda's daughters!

Alex wanted to roast her own!

Avery has started turning away when you are trying to take her picture!

Justin and his friend!

Cake walk! They had Bible verses on the blocks on the ground!

The star of the show. Cindylou's red velvet cake balls. I am sure she will post how she made them. They were going fast. Red velvet inside dipped in white chocolate! Yummy, Sis! Sure glad that I snagged me one to bring home:)

Fun was had by all! Happy Sunday to all of you!

So much in one day!

Took Autumn to school and home to do some cleaning. Swept and mopped the kitchen and did some much needed cleaning. Cindylou called and asked did I want Justin to stop by for a squeeze? Duh, YES!

He loves these babies and since Avery doesn't go to school on Friday's, she got to have a special visit with Justin.

My Sister Barbara wanted to go to Home Depot to look at flooring and that is what we did. Picked out some beautiful carpet for most of the house and vinyl for the kitchen. Measurement ordered and before you know it will be installed:) Can't wait to see how beautiful it is. We stopped at a little Deli for lunch with Brenda and back to Barbara's. We had a special visitor, our sweet Uncle Obie and Aunt Dot. He has alzheimers really bad and doesn't know who we are. He is my Daddy's only living sibling. He is sooo sweet and still smiles and is taken care of by my precious Aunt. Isn't he handsome? This is a terrible disease to keep you from knowing your own family:(

I had been promising Tracy to help hang a mirror at her house... so, after I left Barbara's that is what I did. While there I enjoyed watching Autumn playing with Munson the dog!
And obviously Munson was enjoying playing with Autumn.
Enjoyed the evening with my honey, greek salad and pizza for dinner. Ahhh, Friday evening... no tournament this weekend. Part of me is happy to have a free weekend and part of me is sad that we don't have a tournament. Oh well, it is what it is.

Love you all and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
