Ya'll are spoiling me:)

Yep, I am being spoiled by a number of family members and friends. Yesterday was no different. I started out my day taking Autumn and Austin to School. Marc drove himself to work and is getting better every day! I drove back downtown to the hospital to pick up the xrays for the chiropractor appt today! I picked up Alex and Avery from Preschool for Tracy because Cindylou had School Orientation. Home for fun, fun, fun with the girls. We played outside and they ran and played as always. It was a gorgeous day, sunshine, blue skies, PERFECT day for fun outside. They rode everything with wheels. Ahhhhhhh, peaceful day! We just played and I didn't take the first picture!

Well the doorbell rings and I thought it might be Tracy coming for the girls. But it was Liz, Tracy and Derek's business partner's wife. I call her Ms. Liz and she was standing at my front door with this beautiful Easter Lily!

I do love Easter Lilies and they come back year after year. We sat and chatted a long time and I really enjoyed our visit!
The spoiling continued... My Sister, Barbara (I call her Nanny) and her Husband, Jerry (I call him Poppy) came with our very most favorite Greek salad from our very most favorite Greek restaurant! AND a sack of tomatoes from our local fruit stand. Yummy, yummy! It is a very filling salad and we just love it. I remembered to take a picture of mine, Marc was already chowing down!

Thanks to Liz for the flower and to Nanny and Poppy for dinner! I am so thankful for the love and concern of all of you!

Please keep praying for all of us and for my sweet Justin!

Stuffed full day and Surprise in my mailbox:)

I chauffeured my Honey to the office for his first day back at work. He wasn't moving real fast but had important meetings set up concerning his upcoming retirement. I was all over the place after dropping him off.
I was coming down I-20, swung thru Chick-fil-a for a chicken biscuit. I never do that and just wanted one. Yummy! Had to pick up the accident report from the Sheriff's Department. Call Insurance, make doctor appts for Marc, stopped by Tracy's to fax stuff... well you get the picture. I needed a secretary:) Then off to Avery's school birthday party.

Home to do a smidgen of housework and back to pick Marc up. We stopped on the way home and picked up the rental car. I asked him if he was scared driving. He said he was thinking all the way home about the accident, about every detail and just wondering if there was anything he could have done differently:( Then... Austin had a ballgame. Cold and windy, miserable. Oh I couldn't wait to get inside for the night.

I picked up the mail on the way in and I had this cute package in there from Teresa over here! It couldn't have arrived at a better time. It was stuffed full of a variety of greeting cards. Thank you Teresa! I love them all and there are some of the sweetest ones I have ever seen! What a sweet giveaway and certainly useful!
Now it is Tuesday, another busy day... Hugs to all of you sweet friends! Have a blessed day. Praying for you Justin!

A day of healing!

Sunday was a day of healing for us! Marc is getting better every day and has really been liking getting out of the house. I missed Church Sunday morning so he wouldn't be stuck without a vehicle. We will get him a rental as soon as he can drive again. I took him to Autumn's ballgame, he loves watching her play. While at the ballfield, I sent Cindy a text message and asked my nephew, Bradley to stand in for Pa and get prayed over. We do that at our Church and I just felt like he needed it. So Bradley did, they prayed and it felt good.

I went to the funeral for the teenagers, along with Cindylou, Tracy and Autumn. The service was very special, there were thousands there. I decided to skip meeting the Parents simply because I didn't want to be a distraction! One of Tracy's friends knows this family and encouraged me to meet them. Oh my, what kind people. They hugged me for the longest time and I cried and they hugged. It was exactly what my heart needed. These people were so gracious and said they were so happy to hear that Marc had been released from the hospital. Thank you Cindy for offering to go with me, to Tracy for helping me make that decision to talk to them and Autumn for holding my hand walking out to meet them. I love you all and one of my favorite sayings goes... "This too shall pass"!

My Brother Leon and his wife stopped by for a visit to check on Marc. We were going to eat at Longhorn for Avery's birthday, so we asked them to join us and they did! We had a wonderful dinner and celebrated this girl's 4th birthday again. In our family, if you don't have your party ON your birthday... we just keep celebrating. AND she will have a party at school today. Here we are, one big table full of family enjoying dinner!

More Birthday gifts! If your party isn't on your birthday... when it is your birthday, you get more gifts. Pa calls it a "Ganky rule"! :)

AND here he is with his girls! My honey, still sore but getting better!

Thankful to have him with us!

And then my Sister Brenda, my Niece Regina and her son Christopher came by with my favorite homemade pound cake. A sweet card and lots of hugs! That was so thoughtful and I just love all of you!

So that was a lot on a Sunday, a good day for sure. Some happy, some sad, LOTS of THANKFUL!

Love you all and have a blessed day, I AM!

Happy 4th Birthday Sweet Avery!

Happy Birthday to my precious Granddaughter, Avery! She is 4 years old today and sweet as sugar! My how the years have gone by WAY too fast and now she is 4. Her hair reminds me of her Mama's when she was a little girl. Silky blonde and beautiful. She has the sweetest little smile and oh what an imagination she has. Here are a few pictures starting with her party last week. I LOVE this picture:)

This little Princess loves to dress up, change clothes and change clothes again!

Sweet Sisters, all fresh and clean with their silky nightgowns:)

Oh how I love that precious little face!

Happy Birthday Avery I love you so much! I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Love to all and have a blessed day!

Not much...

I don't have a whole lot to blog about today but I blog everyday, so here's my blog for today! Marc and I are recovering from his accident and spent Friday enjoying each other's company... well I enjoyed his:) I tend to hover when he is sick or feeling bad, "can I get you something to eat, are you thirsty, when you go to the bathroom... call me if you need help getting up OR down":) Anyway, all of this togetherness may change his mind about retiring:) We had delicious ham leftover from the food Cindy brought and had ham sandwiches for lunch TOGETHER at the kitchen table. Some of the ladies who work for him brought dinner, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, cole slaw, green beans, cornbread, biscuits AND peach cobbler. YUMMY... and we ate dinner TOGETHER at the kitchen table.

This hangs on our fridge, so true!

Earlier in the day we took a little ride to get the license plate off of his truck and just enjoyed getting out of the house for a while. He is sore but not as bad as we expected. It seems to get worse late in the day.

Thank you all for the prayers for us and the family of the two teenagers who lost their lives. You are all so special to me and I just don't know what I would do without my Family AND my Blog Family!

It is time to ramp up the prayers for Justin again, he is back in Marjah.

In a split second, your life can change!

Some of you know that my Husband was in a terrible accident yesterday morning on his way to work. When I say terrible, he is blessed that he survived. I am so thankful that he wasn't seriously hurt. The other car had two teenagers in it and they were not so fortunate. Please pray for my Husband and for the parents of those two teenagers. Life is so short and we better all enjoy every minute. Hug your Kids, hug your Grandkids, call your Brothers and Sisters, if you have Parents-either one or both-call them.... tell them you love them and be thankful for each day you have, each hug you get, each sunrise you see and for every moment you are blessed with.

My husband was transported in an ambulance to a trauma center, treated and released. Praise God! He is sore but physically OK. Mentally, he isn't. I will be praying, I know you will be praying and our hearts will mend with time.

My sweet Daughter dropped everything and came because she knew I needed her, Thanks Punkin! Thanks to those who came to the hospital, Kelly for bringing snacks too, Cindylou for bringing dinner... ham, potatoes, english peas, corn muffins, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes AND sweet tea! Then Tracy and crew came by with a basket full of Pa's favorite goodies, even Combos, Diet Mt. Dew, Werthers, Potato skins, a crossword book and much more. Thanks to those who sent a text message, gave us a call, left a comment, sent an email and prayed! I am so blessed and trust me I already knew that:)

Love you all and remember us when you pray AND my sweet Justin! He called me again yesterday. He thanked me for the packages and told me he loved me:) It was a bright spot in a dismal day!

The song that I kept humming to myself all day is "I have so much to thank Him for" and I do!

I've had a run of good luck lately!

I have won a few giveaways lately. THREE to be exact...

From Debra at Common Ground
Isn't this rosette just gorgeous! I already know what I am gonna do with it:)

And number two was from Debbie at Love the Decor She had several candles to choose from and I chose this beauty! Just love the bright red:)

And this one was just was too funny, Teresa visited me... left a comment, I visited her on the giveaway day. First time I visited her, left a comment and won. How fun! It is a card box giveaway. Can't wait to see what it is:) Thank you Teresa! Visit her at Grammy Girlfriend

Oh I feel so lucky! Thank you to Debra, Debbie and Teresa for your generosity!

Update on my Aunt, her name is Mattie Lou... She prefers to be called Lou and many of us call her FooFoo:) My nephew named her that many years ago! She came thru the surgery just fine and was in recovery when I left. Sleeping her little head off. The doctor said it was a success and she can possibly go home today if all is well with her blood pressure and balance. Thanks for your prayers! I sat in the waiting room with her two Sons, Granddaughter-in-law, her Pastor, Sister-in-Law, My Sister and Brother-in-law. We talked about a lot of things... mostly food. I think we were all hungry and well we traded dieting stories, recipes, jokes and just enjoyed our time in the waiting room. My Cousin's wife knows everything there is about the iphone and shared tips and tricks that I didn't know. So many that my battery was about dead when I left. Luckily I had my charger in the car.

Ok, Thursday again! My goodness the weeks just fly by. I don't wish my life away but I just want Justin back on American soil. Have a blessed day my friends!

A call from FAR, FAR away:)

OK, this how it happens sometimes... I push the cart around in the grocery store looking for different goodies for Justin. If there are new friends reading this, Justin is my Marine Nephew serving in Afghanistan! I had the box in the car and loaded that baby up. Taped, custom form etc. stood in line, mailed the package. In the car, on the way home, happy and singing... gorgeous sunshine AND my cell phone rings! I saw the area code and knew who it was:) It was that same Marine, my sweet nephew...
He says "Hey" oh my gosh, it was so good to hear his voice. I always tell Cindy that if he is calling her, that is as good as getting to talk to him. But it warms my heart to hear that fella on the other end of the phone from so FAR away. I asked him lots of questions and he said he was good. I ask him what he needs and he couldn't come up with anything. Well he has about 6 packages in transit but we are steady sending them. He will share with some of his buddies and that is great with me. Some don't get many packages, so we send extras. So... the sunshine was bright and my heart was happy. Knowing that he loves me enough to take a few minutes standing at the phone talking to ME:) You made my day, Justin and I love you and appreciate you more than you will ever know! Praying constantly for you!

Austin had a 7:30 ballgame, they whooped up on the other team. I think the score was 15 to 1. Yipppeeee, but home late. In bed late :( My Mama's Sister is having a vein replaced in her neck this morning, please keep her in your prayers. I will drop Autumn off at school and head to sit at the hospital!

Love to all of you! Have a blessed day!

Monday, Cleaning and Dancing!

I stayed in all day, laundry, cleaning and cooking. Gathered newspapers to take to the recycle bin. I kept an eye out hoping to see Justin on facebook but he was sleeping I guess. Anyway, it rained again and it was a great day to stay in and get some chores done.

We had dinner and the wait was on for this, one of my FAVORITE shows ever! My Honey loves it too. It is the only reality show that we watch! I can't figure out who I will be pulling for. I watched it for two hours and loved every minute of it.

The Pussycat Doll did great! My favorite!
Buzz Aldrin, he is 80:( Bless his heart.
I thought Erin Andrews did real good.
Niecy Nash is funny but not the best dancer.
Aiden Turner, cute... choppy dancing!
Shannon Doherty not too good to me.
Chad Ochocinco was really good.
Kate Gosselin, Beautiful but not too good last night
The skater did real good
Pamela Anderson (put the hair in a ponytail) and get a room
The Bachelor not the best and not the worst

So that was it. They get better every week and some of them need to get better:)

Have a blessed Tuesday everyone!

Avery's 4th Birthday Party

What a sweetheart, Miss Avery.
She enjoyed her party
and so did all of her guests.
We had lots of food and fun, fun, fun! Tracy had rented this huge slide and we knew it was gonna rain. She could have canceled it but didn't. It rained and they slid anyway:) Not a dry kid at the party!

Austin had ball pictures but made it back in time to have some fun too!
And now here is the 14 year old holding her almost 4 year old baby Sister! Both of them soaked and still smiling!

Great day, busy all day, but great! Got up early and made snacks for the party, went to Church and then the rest of the day was spent partying to celebrate the birthday of this little angel.

Cindylou heard from Justin, Praise the Lord! He is good... Prayers are working, keep 'em going:)

Love you all and have a blessed Monday!

Peeeeuuuuuwwwwww!

OK, how could something this beautiful just STINK?
Well, this was my first time to be this close to a Bradford Pear tree! It is gorgeous, beautiful white blooms and honey.... stinks like a fish market. Austin had a ballgame Saturday at noon. I got there and put our chairs under this tree.
A little shade for a bright, sunny day. Alex and Avery would be playing and we keep them shaded. Hmmmm... I was there all by myself for a little while and thought, what is that smell? The more I sat there, the more it smelled just darned yucky. But I admired it's beauty and kept sitting there watching the game. I don't want any of these trees.

These two played with some clay I had in the car and Austin played a great game but they lost!

The rest of the day was spent outside. I sat out by the pool and enjoyed the bright sunshine. My honey cleaned the pool filter and cut the grass. It was a gorgeous day. Have a blessed Sunday, friends! Hugs to all of you!

Full Friday!

Nothing usual about the start to this Friday. OK... beyond coffee, visiting my favorite blogs etc. Alex and Avery's preschool needed a substitute in the toddler class. So, I was asked to help them out and I said OK. Alex rode to school with me and on the way to school, I told her that I was helping in Ms. Casey's class... she said "Ganky, they poop":) And yes they do! It was different taking care of "not my Grandchildren" children but I did OK. They learned my name pretty quickly and were good little kids.

We made these little flowers in craft time. Some of the kids were more interested than others but Ms. Casey and I had lots of fun with the flowers.

Here are some of the little cuties playing! I sat in a rocking chair and read them books.

And then off to Hickory House for lunch with ladies that I worked with. I always snag a waitress to take a picture.
L-R Me:) Reesa, Lynn, Linda, Teresa, Melanie and Joan

I have a collection of pictures of me and this friend. Her name was Joan Eno when we met and still is to me. I tend to NOT change what I call someone when they marry:) She has always called me "little bit"! She is really special to me and lives in South Georgia. We worked together for MANY years and have been friends forever. I love her and she loves me. It is always nice to get to see her and I will find some of the other pictures to share with you. It doesn't matter how long we go without seeing each other, it feels like we just saw each other. Do you have friends like that?

It was a GORGEOUS Georgia day! 70 degrees, sun shining OMG what a day. Makes up for all of those yucky ones.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday! Hugs to all of you!

Post Office, Estate Sale and Tiny chatterboxes!

Well, my day started out as usual and since I had a box ready to mail to Justin.. off I go to the Post Office. I had an idea at the Birthday Party Saturday night to get everyone to write a note to Justin and I would put them all in the next box.
Oh it was so nice to know that he will get all of these personal notes from family. I put Easter stickers on them and put them inside a sweet card all packed up and ready to go.
Back home because I was having tiny guests to play and have dinner. They played in and out of the little house, pretending and sweeping and just having a ball.
They wanted to swing and lately it has either been too wet or too cold... today it was just right and they were so excited to be outside. Pa came home and played out there with them until dinner was ready!

I almost missed this Estate Sale and oh my, I would have been really sad. It was a good one, stuff priced right and I had a ball. Got lots of goodies!

My Estate Sale purchases, a Nativity Scene, Two Quilts, A walking cane (which I don't need but it was $2) Look at that pink and white quilt... perfect condition!

These are soooooo precious... Little Christmas people!
Basket of eggs, $1.00

And this is possibly my very most favorite purchase. Sweet, sweet, sweet little dolly. It reminds me of one I had as a little girl. Don't know what happened to that one but this one is sitting on my bed:) I love it! So, my friends... it was a busy day but a great one! Sunshine and blue skies! Hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Praying for my sweet Nephew-Justin, Julie's Son-Justin and Lynda's Son-Billy!

Ganky in the attic doing the happy dance!

I was missing some of my precious Easter/Spring decorations and they just were not where I remembered putting them. I LOVE tubs, clear tubs and have plenty of them. Over the past few years, when they are on sale... I buy some and transfer seasonal items into a clear tub with a sheet of paper noting the contents. Low and behold, in the attic I found this.
Mystery solved. Tracy gave me this the year Autumn was born:)

I looked most of Tuesday, getting side-tracked along the way and KNEW that it was all still here somewhere. I took Autumn to school yesterday morning and came home determined to find my stuff. So, I retraced my steps from the day before thinking that I had just missed it. Then about 10AM I decided to check the attic. I found what I was looking for, like this little bunny that we have had for MANY years...

AND I also found A BUNCH of after Easter clearance goodies from last year. Yipppppeeeeee! I'll show you that another day:)

Oh my, I was so happy and off to Austin's school for Parent/Grandparent lunch. It was quite tasty and Tracy and I enjoyed sitting with Austin and his friend!

So, that's it for today my friends! I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!
