Halloween Sunday Morning!

Happy Halloween to all you ghouls!  I am up and at 'em this morning, getting ready to go to Church!  I am dressing in costume, I will be a Ganky!  Nobody else will be that at Church, I HOPE:)  My Saturday was spent running a few errands and working in my closet!  I DO NOT like to change my closet out from Summer to Winter but it had to be done!  I was a tad chilly Saturday morning!  I had to get my heating pad out!  When I sit in my favorite chair, I keep it on and it keeps me toasty warm!  We will be enjoying Halloween evening with friends and taking the little ones out for candy!

This is me and Autumn last year...

And MANY years ago..One of my favorite pictures of Autumn!

Not sure if I will dress up this year or not!  The little ones love it when I do!  It is supposed to be pretty cool out for Trick-or-Treating!  Perhaps a BEAR suit would be nice and cozy!

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!  Trick-or-Treating fun and lot of HUGS from Family!

Fall Festival and chasing bubbles!

Friday was Avery's Fall Festival at School!  They get to pick their own pumpkin in the pumpkin patch!  Looks like Avery is admiring hers!

The hayride is always fun!

Tracy had TWO parties to attend!  She was on the move!

They made their own bags, Avery's is so cute!

I think Avery is keeping her eye on the kids during the prayer:)  This is Ms. Charlotte, we love her!  She and I had a hug!  This is our last little one to be going to this school!  She said that they will call me next year because it will not be the same without us there:(

Alexis from our Church got to participate too!  Cindy is loved by ALL of the Children!

They got to Trick or Treat each door!

Pinning the buttons on the Scarecrow!

The highlight of the day was the bubble machine!  Cindy took a picture that had a bubble in it and I finally got one too:)

Our final Fall Festival with these Friends!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, I am thankful for a good night's sleep!

Organized ALL day long!

Thanks Maxine but I ignored this advice yesterday!  I worked with files ALL day long!  I stopped for about an hour to run to the grocery store!  The rest of the day I sorted thru MANY files and threw away lots of stuff!  I am certainly not finished but it sure felt good to ALMOST strike that off my list!  I still have several categories to put in folders and I'll move on to something else that needs doing!

I cooked smoked sausage, cabbage and cornbread for dinner!  It was then time to settle in for some baseball!  That's all I have, not a very exciting day!  Today will be more exciting!  Avery is having her School Fall Festival and I'll be there!

Enjoy your day my friend!  HUGS!

Rainy night in Georgia!

It's was a rainy night in Georgia, it was a rainy day in Georgia and I mean HEAVY rain!  I picked Avery up at school, had lunch and headed out to pick up the rest of the crew at their school!  GIRLS, it rained so hard... there were tornado warnings in our area and I was driving with precious cargo!  The warnings weren't where we were but the sky was sure looking weird off in the distance!  We made it home fine and the entire night was spent watching the weather AND listening to the rhythm of the falling rain!

First game of the World Series!  I have friends on the West Coast  pulling for the Giants and I have friends in Texas pulling for Texas!  So, I SHALL just hope it is a great game and that the best team wins!  So far, the first game didn't disappoint!

Now, I believe today is Thursday!  I have most of the stuff on my "to-do" list still on it!  I did manage to do some clutter control and I want to do some serious organizing like my friend!  Take a look at her blog, Cheri's Chatter!  I want her to fix mine for me:)

Stop by my friend Cindy over at Rick-Rack and Gingham!  She is opening an on-line General Store today!  It is called "Mornin Glories"!  What a great idea!  Can't wait to shop!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!  Do something fun!  Big HUGS!

Finally some Fall decor and Austin's last game

I am running WAY behind getting some Fall decorations up at my house.. KAREN:)  But yesterday, I went up in the attic and brought down my FALL tubs!  Now I have some color scattered around!

These two are some of my favorites!  They have been around for a long time!  My Sister Barbara gave them to me about 20 years ago?

 My porch scaregirl...

My porch scareboy...

Would you take a look at that Alex in her school uniform, the plaid ones are my favorite!  Avery is looking forward to going there next year.

And Autumn, ALMOST 15!  OMG, where have those years gone?

Austin's last game for the Fall Season!  He played a great game and pitched in relief out of a bases loaded mess!  I am proud of him!  Their team lost last night but it was another close one!

And of course... the sky, breathtakingly beautiful!
Have a blessed day my friends, I have a busy one ahead!
Love you all!  HUGS!

My Friend Mildred pointed out the face in the sky:) on the right!  Thanks Mildred, I missed that!

I don't do this very often....

I picked Avery up at school "too early"!  She said I wasn't supposed to come that early!  I listened to her tell me who "is old" and who isn't!  I am in the "old" category and Patticakes and her Mommy are NOT old:)  She had ravioli  for lunch and played with the tinkerfairies.  I asked her if she would like to watch a movie and this is what she chose!  (that is the part that I don't do very often... sit still and watch a movie) Funny thing is that her Mommy loves this movie!  Tracy gave me their VHS movies because I still have a VCR, so I had a HUGE selection for her to choose from:)
So, Avery and I piled up on the sofa that reclines and watched "Lady and the Tramp"!  She said it was kinda long and I closed my eyes a few times:)  One time when my eyes were closed, she got right up close to my face and said "GANKY" in a loud voice!  Then proceeds to tell me I can go back to sleep!  We both giggled and watched more of the movie!  I sat there and glancing over at her remembering her Mother at that age, which doesn't seem that long ago.  She looks so much like her Mother to me!  Wishing that I could have been at home with her when she was little like Avery but I had to work!  Thankfully my Mama didn't work and was there for her when she was little!  I guess it gives us Ganky's some time with the little ones like our Mamas had with our little ones:)

Just reminiscing a bit with my Granddaughter:)  Have a most blessed day!
Big hugs!

When Justin is home it is always special!

I remember how hard I prayed when Justin was in Afghanistan!  I remember how scared I was each time a report on TV said that a Marine had lost their life!  I want to ALWAYS remember waiting for word that he was safe and I don't EVER want to forget how I felt when he came marching in and we actually got to hug him!  You see we must always be thankful when prayers are answered and that is what I am EACH time I see Justin!  It could have been different and I know that!  So on this Sunday morning with Justin picking his guitar, I was thankful!  He sat beside me on the pew and I slipped him $20 which I always do to help with gas or food!  I snagged him for a picture, WHICH HE HATES, but cooperates anyway!  I am thankful and happy to have him with us!

I grabbed his siblings and asked them to get their picture made with me too!  I love them all!  I was extra thankful to have Bradley SAFE after his accident... that could have turned out differently too!

So, with a thankful heart I traveled home!  I did more work outside to get the leaves off the walkway before the rain comes today!  We have really had some beautiful weather and really need the rain!  Hope your week ahead is wonderful and safe!  I hope you get to do something you enjoy and see lots of people that you love!

We are having lots of rain and my internet is in and out!  YUCK!  Love you all!

Yippee... Oh no! Chores and Fall color!

Justin is home for the weekend from Camp Lejeune and I got to see him first thing Saturday morning!  He is precious!  He was just sitting there flipping channels on the TV and it was nice to see him relaxing!  Cindy does a great job sharing him!  She had some homemade biscuits and invited me down!  I missed seeing Justin the last time he was home and Cindy KNEW it bothered me!  Thanks Sis for thinking of me and for the delicious biscuit!

I worked around the house cleaning, striking off items on my to do list!  This was one of them!  My foyer floor needed attention and it got it!

In the middle of all this, my Sister called to say that my nephew Bradley had been in an accident BUT was OK!  Thank you Jesus!  Someone pulled out in front of him!  I am so thankful he wasn't hurt!  She sent me a picture of the truck but more importantly this sweet fella!  She knew I would be worried and it made me feel better to see this smile!

I was walking up to the mailbox and saw these two colorful leaves right in the middle of all of the brown!

There are some beautiful colors around these parts!

I spent most of the rest of the day outside, my honey trimming bushes and me raking piles of clippings!  It was a beautiful day... perfect in fact!

I hope you enjoy this wonderful Sunday!  Big hugs and thankful hearts!

Yikes.. roots, cleaning and who is that handsome fella?

My hair underneath the color is gray!  When the roots start growing out, girls I head to get them covered!  Yesterday was that day!  I don't really enjoy going to the beauty shop like others do!  BUT, when the gray is peeking out... it makes me feel old!  I don't like to spend the time sitting in a chair but have found me a GREAT stylist who gets me in and out in record time and much cheaper than I have paid before!  So late Thursday night I left her a message that I needed to see her SOON!  She called first thing Friday morning!  I hurried and got me some fresh color!  I love it and feel years younger!

I picked up my Avery at Preschool and went to help her [wink-wink] clean her and Alex's room!  I worked there for half the day and made some progress sorting their toys and straightening their rooms!  Austin had a ballgame and we watched him pitch!  He did a great job pitching but they got beat BAD!  One more game for him and we'll be done with his ball season until Spring!  I think we all need a break from being so busy during the weeknights!  The kids need to study and spend family time around the kitchen table:)

That's it for this Saturday morning!  Justin is home for the weekend and I am excited to see his sweet smile!  I missed his last visit and that is not something I like to do!  I didn't take ANY pictures yesterday!  I decided to pull up 10-23-09 and post a picture I took a year ago today!  I think this is appropriate... a visit from Justin ONE year ago today!
Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!  Big hugs and prayers for all!

We lost:( but played a great game:) and had a wonderful season:)

One sad face and two smileys!  We lost our game last night but didn't go down without a fight!  ALMOST pulled it off again in the very last inning but it just wasn't to be!  The school that Autumn goes to is in the Georgia High School Association for the first time this year and went all the way to the sweet sixteen!  Great job Lady Dawgs and what a classy bunch they are!  So... school ball is done for the season but travel ball is about to get started again!  They are already practicing and will have their first game in a few weeks!  Dawg piling after the game!
I am proud of you Autumn!

Do you post art on your fridge?  I do and it is full!  The kids know that if they make it, I will brag on it and display it!  Here is a picture that Alex made for me!  Would you look at those big smiles on our faces:)  I love it!  She even gave us crowns!  Thanks sweet Alex for this beautiful artwork!

Isn't she sweet?  Her Mama had braided her hair this morning and she said, "Ganky, you haven't said anything about my hair!"  Of course, it was dark and I hadn't seen it yet but it was beautiful!  When it got daylight, I made sure to brag on her hair AND take a picture!

So, my friends... it is Friday, another week gone!  I didn't accomplish nearly as much as I started out to do this week but it's still here and I'll get to it when I get to it!  Love to all and big hugs!

Lost one, won one... play again today!

Autumn's school ball team is in the State finals!  They played a double header yesterday!  REALLY TOUGH pitcher on the other team, we lost the first game!  Second game... down 7 to 2!  We rallied back, Autumn pitched the end of the game and it was so exciting!  The LAST inning, Autumn is up to bat... we were tied 7 to 7 and guess who hit in the winning run!  YES, that would be Autumn!  IT WAS AWESOME!  Now we play again today!  If we win today, we go on the Championship series!  OMG, I was jumping up and down, screaming until my throat was sore:)  Tracy said I was doing the "Ganky Dance"!  Those girls really deserved to win because they NEVER gave up!  GO LADY DAWGS!

Victory is sweet!

Two little ones in their chariot getting a ride to the car doing the Queen wave!

Pa is pulling the chariot!

TWO THUMBS UP!

It is going to be a beautiful day! HUGS!

My Granddaisies:)

Several years ago, I plucked some of my baby swamp daisies and gave them to my Sister Barbara.  Some of you who have followed for a while will remember the flood that destroyed their house in 2009.  These daisies came back and are more beautiful than ever!

AND this is my Sister's gorgeous rose...
Love you all, busy day ahead!  Autumn is playing in the playoffs this afternoon-two games!  I believe that if they win today, they will play in the Finals for the Georgia High School Association!

BIG HUGS!

Red sky at night, oh what a sight!

Well, the saying really goes like this...
*****************
Red sky at night, sailor's delight,
Red sky at morning, sailors take warning.
*****************
Austin had a ballgame last night and this is what the sky looked like!  OMG, gorgeous!  I love sky beauty!

It got more and more beautiful...

And this is my Grandson.. picture is blurry but he has been pitching some and doing a great job at it too!

I spent much of the day cleaning and didn't get it all done!  By the end of the week, I will:)  The to do list is really long and I am gonna be striking stuff off every day!  My closet needs much attention, not something I am looking forward to working on!

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!  HUGS to all of you!

My Sunday and YES!

Sunday morning, off to Church and it was a wonderful service!  They had lunch for Deacon appreciation but I didn't stay!  Sometimes when we have lunch after Church... it just lasts too long and I certainly didn't need a big lunch!

These pictures ALWAYS sit on my counter!  The picture on the left is of my Mama and Daddy having lunch at my Brother, Marshall's house one Christmas many years ago!  The picture on the right is my Daddy's last Easter before he passed away!  We were at my Brother, Leon's house!  I always tell them I love them, pick up my Daddy's picture, and take my Daddy's Bible to Church!  I gave him that Bible in 1989 for his Birthday and after he passed away, it was mine..but still his:)  I love it and have scriptures in his hand writing that stay in it for me to read and remember:)

Since we have been home from Vegas... I have cooked every meal!  My honey has asked me every evening "Want me to get dinner"?  I would say "No, I will cook"!  Well Sunday night I said YES getting dinner would be great!  We order from our local wing place and that is what we had!  Delicious, as always and we settled in to watch baseball and football and do some relaxing!

That's it my friends, it is Monday again!  I have some serious work to do around my house!  Closets to switch out, fall decorations from the attic and general cleaning!  Hope you have a blessed day!  HUGS to all!

Smiling faces in the morning and check out 2 recipes

My little ones had such a good time spending the night Friday night!  I cooked sausage links, crescent rolls and scrambled eggs for breakfast... AND I even had orange juice for them!  Pa likes grapefruit juice so I don't buy orange juice very often.  Alex said, "this is a yummy breakfast Ganky"!  Oh my goodness, I love them.  They stayed and played until 11AM or so and then I ran them home.  They both hugged me so many times and told me how much fun they had!

Go check this out... My friend Doris' recipe  Chicken Noodle Soup  which sounds delicious!

Here is another recipe which I will be trying... Judi made this yummy dish...  Spaghetti Sauce Spaghetti Squash

So my dear blogger friends, it is Sunday and I will be heading to Church!  I missed last week and it was not a good Sunday to miss.  Justin was home for his Birthday and I wasn't there.  He was there picking his guitar and I missed it.  I was so sad, I asked Cindy to send me a picture of him... she did and it made me feel better!  Thanks Sis!

Hope your Sunday is wonderful!  Big Hugs!

Bright yellow blooms welcoming us home!

Bright as sunshine, blooming while we were gone!

Daisies everywhere!

They are tall and falling over!

A little purple wildflower growing in the garden!
I loved seeing all of the beautiful flowers welcoming us home!  I had a most productive day yesterday, went grocery shopping, did all of the laundry and cooked a pot of chili!

Alex and Avery came for a visit and spent the night!  We laughed and had the best time!  Those are some giggling girls!  They were playing outside as long as we would stay out there, swinging, riding bikes and scooters!  I sure missed those sweet little ones while I was out of town!

Up and at 'em this morning!  Hot coffee and little ones playing in the floor!  Sweet Saturday morning!

Hope your Saturday is perfect!  Big hugs!
