Happy Halloween 2011

We will be joining this group tonight as we always do!  Loads of delicious snacks and then head out so the kiddos can get some CANDY!

Good Wednesday Morning!

Just checking in to say.... "Good Morning"!  We are having some mighty beautiful weather here in the South!  I am enjoying the temperatures and the gorgous sunshiny blue skies!  It won't be long until the winds and chilly weather will be here, so I am gonna enjoy it while I can! 

I ran the kids to school yesterday, stopped at Target for some Halloween candy etc.  Austin had a ballgame last night and won!  I cooked cabbage in the crockpot for the first time!  Cut it up, washed it and put it in for an hour on high and then cut it down on low until we got home from the game!  I put a Turkey Smoked sausage in Aluminum foil and put it on top of the cabbage!  I made some cornbread to go with it and left it to cool!  WAHLAH, dinner was done when we got home!  When we have a game, it is so nice to have the dinner ready to eat!

So... up and at 'em this morning!  Some work to do around the house and off to the School for a SOFTBALL Pep Rally!  Go Lady Dawgs, Can't wait!

Saving money with coupons...

Couponing takes time and I am not extreme with it!  BUT... I bought groceries yesterday and saved $67!  It took me about two hours to shop and the only thing I did differently was perhaps buy TWO of an item to use the coupon:)

I thought this was a cute cartoon:)  Fortunately for us, the coupons are separate from the paper... EXCEPT the Hobby Lobby Coupon:)

Simply pretty and a link...

I was out strolling yesterday afternoon... just looking at the leaves etc!  I have these knock-out roses that you just can't "knock-out", they are tough little pretties!  They keep blooming and blooming and blooming!  I love flowers and got a little closer to snap a picture!  Some burlap sacks were hanging on the porch of my poolhouse to air out!  They sure made a nice backdrop for these roses:)

This plant has been showing itself too!  I forget what it is called but it is sure pretty!  Now it has some little purple blooms!

And as I looked back up at the house, I saw the bright yellow daisies adding some color to the backyard! 

The leaves on the Dogwood trees are changing colors and sooooo pretty!

And then there's this!  Yesterday at Church, I felt the need to have prayer for Justin!  We do something at our Church where if that person can't be there... someone stands in for them!  I asked Preacher Tommy if Justin's Brother Bradley could stand in for him!  Well... go here for the rest of the story!

A rose, leaves turning, blue sky,a little visitor

Would you just look at this ginormous bloom on my rose bush, new growth and some more buds!  I just had to share this pretty with you!  Look at the leaves turning on the trees in the background and that BRIGHT BLUE SKY:)  WOW!

This little one came to stay with me while her Little Sister went to a birthday party!  She ALWAYS wants to play ball!  She likes to do what her Big Sister does and Autumn is a catcher!  She told me that she knows how to do it and squats with her glove out front... makes me smile!

She went in the garage and came out with this...

She was ready to practice:) Just like her Sister practices with a bucket of balls... Bigger bucket and bigger balls but she is watching!

What also makes me smile and warms my heart is how much she loves her Cousin, Justin!  She always wants to send him a note, a picture or a card!  Here she is putting the finishing touches on this sweet card!  We put a picture of her in it, put it in an envelope, added a stamp and we walked up the driveway to put it in the mailbox!  I let her put it in there AND raise the flag!  I always tell her how much it will mean to Justin that she takes the time to let him know that she misses him:)

It was a gorgeous FALL day and I enjoyed it so much!  I did get some clutter cleaning done inside and a little laundry!  We watched the World Series and about 10 Football games:)  Hope you all have a mighty blessed Sunday, BIG HUGS!

It is cool here this morning, I am sipping hot coffee, checking out the news and found this picture from the WSBTV tower cam of our beautiful city!

We have NO games today, well Austin has practice but NO games for us!  I have lots to do around the house, it has been a really busy week and my chores are behind! 

I went to the funeral yesterday of my friend, 56 years old!  The preacher was young and spoke a lot to the family but said this to the congregation "Live for today... but be prepared for tomorrow"!  Rita's 9year old granddaughter spoke and told about how much she loved her grandmother!  Ripped my heart slap out of my chest:(  I sat between two of my VERY old friends, we held hands and shared tears!  Rest in Peace, RITA!

They made it to the Sweet 16 LAST year BUT not to the ELITE 8!  So there are only EIGHT teams left in their division, more games.... We would SURE love to win the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!

When I count my blesssings...

I had errands to run yesterday and stopped in at my favorite Antique Mall to shop a little!  I saw this tiny sign and immediately thought of all of you!

I am truly thankful for YOU!  I appreciate your kind words and prayer for whatever I am in need of!  I can't imagine my days without you in it!  Have a blessed day, you sure bless mine:)

Too young, too young...

A childhood/school/Church friend, a year younger than me... gone to be with Jesus!  Too young, too young...  She had a stroke a couple of months ago and was recovering from that!  SO Sad, young family missing their Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter...  Thinking of you, Family of Rita King!

Back in the swing of things...

Alex had a ballgame last night, she played in the circle which is by the pitcher:) and did an awesome job!  She got some great hits and got outs at first and home!  Way to go Alex!  Do you know how much she looks up to her Big Sister?  She swings the bats that Autumn has used over the years!  She keeps picking up a heavier one and trying to swing it!  I think it is so sweet for Alex to look up to her Sister and want to be like her:)  They keep us running but I believe playing sports is SO good for children!

I got lots of my chores done yesterday, laundry, grocery shopping, dinner in the crockpot for after the game AND TWO yummilicious boxes packed for Justin:)  Off to take the kids to school, get the packages mailed and back home for more chores!  Gotta get caught up after my vacation!

This is the way we wash our clothes....

Monday, hello Monday... what do you have in store for me today?  Laundry?  Yep, Laundry!  All of the suitcases are sitting in my bedroom floor and need to be unpacked!  I have a bad habit of taking WAY too many clothes and now I have to hang them back up or put them away!  And I have a large pile of laundry to do, towels and sandy blankets etc to wash! 

Do you know that I actually saw laundry hanging on a clothesline outside in the sunshine?  We were driving back from the beach and the sun was shining... a clothesline full of clothes reminded me of my childhood!  Fresh crisp sheets!  Can you imagine if I had to wash the clothes AND hang them on the line outside to dry?  I will not complain about my chores today:)  I will not complain about my chores today:)

I will be packing Justin some boxes today!  Stay safe my precious Nephew, I love you and pray for your safe return to all of us who love you!

A week of fun and HOME SWEET HOME!

We had a wonderful week of fun at the beach with Anna, Richard and the kids!  It was SO much fun, spending quality time with the Grandkids that I don't see very often!  But I am at HOME SWEET HOME this morning and it feels SO good!  Isn't it fun to get away and enjoy the beach but sweet to come home:)
