Dress shopping and the funeral home!

Not much going on yesterday!  I went to shop for Autumn a Prom dress!  Not that I would buy it but was just checking a shop to see if there were any she might like!  THOUSANDS of dresses, it was overwhelming!  After dress shopping, I went to the funeral home to pay my respects for my cousin's EX-Father-in-law!  His wife, although they have been divorced for years is still like a part of our family!  She was so sweet!  Her Dad was a Veteran and a precious Man!  He had on a flag tie, a flag pin and had a flag draped casket, tears!  I didn't know him personally but he was well-known as Green Bros. Nursery owner!  

This was what the sky looked like on my way home!  AWESOME!

We sure have missed it...

Yep, Softball Season is getting started!  Just practice games yesterday, a double-header and they won both games!  Autumn hit TWO home-runs OUT OF THE PARK!  Way to go Autumn!  The strength she has to hit balls that far... amazing!  She really makes me smile, ear to ear!

It was a bit chilly but we had jackets and blankets!  We enjoyed it SO much!  Back at the Ballpark, felt so good!

It will be nice to load our calendars up with ballgames, travel around and enjoy the fresh air!

FUN Sunday!  Hope yours was fun too!  Blue skies, wispy clouds and the crack of the bat hitting the ball!  Yep, it was fun!  HUGS!

25 years ago... the cover of the Southern Bell Magazine!  BIG HAIR:)

 I have been cleaning/organizing/taking long walks down Memory Lane!  I ran across this magazine and thought I would share it with you!  I am sure my family bloggers remember it!  Marc and I had received an award and they wanted to publish our story!  


I am enjoying looking in boxes and photo albums!  I have found notes that Autumn wrote me when she could hardly write:)  I have found pictures that I haven't seen in years!  Greeting cards, do you save cards?  I do and I am thankful that I do:)  I enjoyed looking at each one and reading what was inside!  It may take me forever to finish this chore but I am sure enjoying a look back!

Uh-oh... no way to pay!

I stayed in most of the day, rainy, rainy, rainy!  It was OK because I had plenty of inside work to do!  I worked on my coupons and threw a bunch of them away that had expired!  Around 4:00 PM after the Young and the Restless went off, I decided to shoot up to the Grocery store for some things I needed!  Milk, bread, fruit, cookies, ice cream... OK some 
stuff I really didn't need:)

  They were having a Daytona 500 sale, buy 10 of those items and save money!  I circle the store about 3 times trying to come up with 10 of those items!  Spent TOO much time doing that!  Get up to the check-out, load all of my stuff out of the cart and OOPS... NO WALLET!  We have been walking at the park and instead of leaving my purse in the car, I have been just taking my wallet!  So, the wallet was still in the car from our walk on Thursday!  Hmmmm, I keep my checkbook in my purse to write a check at Church!  I tell the cashier, I have my checkbook... problem solved!  OOPS, no ID!  I leave everything sitting there and DASH to the car for the wallet!  NOW... Problem solved:) It is kinda funny looking back but I felt a bit helpless standing at the counter with NO way to pay for a buggy full of groceries:(

After Midnight...

NOPE, I am certainly NOT up this late!  I have had trouble lately with blogger updating!  I have tried SO many things to fix it!  If I post first thing in the morning, which I usually do... it doesn't actually show up in the sidebar until lunchtime or later!  I don't like that:(  One of my blog friends gave me a tip but it doesn't always work!  SO... this is my fix!  I will try to post and schedule it after midnight, it used to work!  This is a test!  If you happen to see this and wonder "What in the world is she doing up at this hour"... she isn't!  I am snoozing:)

One week from today, on March 2nd, I will celebrate THREE years of blogging and over 1000 posts!  I am going to give something away to celebrate:)  I am only going to tell about it in THIS post!  I will collect up the comments between now and then, pick a name and send something in snail mail to the winner!  I am so thankful for blogging and I can't imagine NOT knowing you all!  Blessings multiplied!  Thanks to my Niece Kelly for encouraging me to create a blog!  LOVE it, LOVE you all!  BIG HUGS!

Boring but productive...

I spent the WHOLE day sorting and organizing files!  Never made it to work in the closet but I got so much done!  It felt good to strike something off of my list of NEEDS doing:)  

My husband spent the evening plowing up our garden!  He took a soil sample to the extension service and it needed some STUFF!  Lime etc.  So he is planning the garden for the Spring:)  Can't wait to taste a REAL "off the vine" tomato... YUMMY!  While he was in the garden, I made a meatloaf for dinner!  It was really delicious!  

It is getting close to ball season again, can't wait!  Alex is practicing and Autumn's first tournament is in a couple of weeks!  Can't wait... oh I have already said that:)  We DO love going from place to place for these tournaments!  So, that's about all I have to say this morning!  Going to get busy shortly finishing up the files!

Walking, running, playing....

We met at the park last night, I walked 1.25 miles,  Autumn ran 1 mile, Tracy ran 5 miles and these two PLAYED on the playground while Austin played basketball!

They have so much energy, makes me tired just watching them:)

What a gift they are to each other:)  Avery fell on the monkey bars (not hurt) and Alex went running to hug her and make sure she was OK... how sweet!  Sisters and forever friends!

Good Morning World!

Good morning world!

It is a beautiful Monday morning here in my World!  The sun is streaming thru the window and I am sitting in my favorite chair 
sipping HOT coffee!  

It was a busy weekend but I enjoyed it!  We went to the visitation for my Friend Katie on Friday night, saw a BUNCH of sweet friends and shared stories about her!  The funeral on Saturday was so sweet!  Her Pastor knew her well and told us about lots of good times he had shared with Katie!  The Church was beautiful, music was sweet and there was a full house!  Katie will be missed by so many!

Sunday at Church, the singing was awesome and the preaching was the best ever!  Justin was there playing his guitar, sang a song with his Mom and Dad "I've never been this homesick before"!  He told about how he felt when he was marching in when he came home from Afghanistan!  He said how he felt when he came around the corner and could hear the clapping and screaming!  He said how he felt when he saw his Mama's face and all of the family!  He said that is how it will be when you get to heaven, getting to see Jesus and all of the family gone on before us!  That Justin just bounces my heart around in his hands:)

Lunch today for Brenda's Birthday, can't wait to spend this day with my sweet family!  Love you all, have a skippeedeedoodaday!

Avery's class went on this MOST fun field trip and I was fortunate enough to be invited to go!  I went last year with Alex's class and looked forward to seeing Avery enjoy it!

You start the adventure with instructions!  The little ones sat listening to the instructor:) waiting patiently to get started with the fun part!  You see Avery had already heard about the MOST fun field trip from her BIG Sister:)

 There are MANY different Neighborhood type stations!  This was a stage, there was a room full of dress-up clothes!  Avery LOVES to dress up and isn't she cute?

Celebrating my Sister's Retirement:)

Last night we celebrated my Sister, Brenda's retirement!  Didn't she look pretty AND HAPPY?

She received a beautiful plaque...

This was her Boss, Mr. Don!  He was so nice and said lots of good things about her 32 1/2 years of work!

He took her by the hand and they strolled thru the plant together one more time!  That was mighty sweet!

Lots of co-workers were there and the rest of the room is FAMILY!  We had a wonderful time!  Lots of good food, fried chicken, green beans, deviled eggs, potato salad, lima beans, corn, mac and cheese and rolls!  YUMMY!

This is Brenda's GREAT-Granddaughter Kaleana!  She was helping her Granny open this gift from her Me maw (Brenda's daughter)!  I didn't get a picture of the gift but it was a Kindle Fire!  Brenda LOVES to read and I know she is really going to enjoy this gift!
