Splish Splash...

After Church yesterday, I called Tracy to see what they were doing!  Autumn had practice but this bunch joined us for an April swim!
It was 87 degrees here in the South,
warm enough for a dip:)

Avery took a ride on the Mommy boat:)

They jumped and played,
and played and jumped!

Here they are all doing a cannon ball:)

Fun was had by all at this Sunday
afternoon 1st swim of 2012:)

BIG HUGS and Happy Monday to all of you!

Birdie High-Rise...

Anybody EVER seen a HIGH-RISE bird nest?

This one is above my porch on my pool house!

I have seen lots of nests in my days but never-EVER seen one like this!  AMAZING!  They are pooping as they fly in and out but I said we'll clean it up after the little ones fly out:)

After snapping some picture of the bird's nest, I walked around and found some flowers blooming that I had not seen:)

I love watching the Hostas poke their little heads out year after year!  I SO enjoy these!

Tiny yellow flowers in a VERY old kettle:)  Oh how I love you!

Oh YES!

Enjoy your Sunday dear friends!  BIG HUGS!

Recycling small bottles...

Some small bottles are worth recycling for other uses...  I got the last drop out of this bottle of eye make-up remover
and decided to peel off the label!

Not many peel off this clean but this one peeled off "clean as a whistle"!

Hi there... new bottle to take on vacation!  We travel a lot with Autumn's ballteam and will also take a quick trip out of town for no reason!  I like to take smaller bottles of shampoo and conditioner!  Works for me!  I will refill this baby
and put it in my travel bag!

Not much to talk about today!  I never left the house yesterday, I spent it cleaning, sweeping the pollen off the front porch, unloading the dishwasher and just boring chores!  On the up-side, I am able to do those boring chores... for that I am thankful:)

This is my NEW LOVE!  My Step-Daughter recommended this vacuum to me and I AM IN LOVE with it!  It is cordless, has a removable dust buster and goes from carpet to tile to hardwood... NO problem!  I grab it for small jobs and big ones too!  I love it!

Have a blessed day dear Bloggy Sistas!  HUGS!

Best of the BEST!

My oldest, precious, beautiful, talented Granddaughter Autumn was awarded
"Best of the Best" last night at a banquet at her School!  I am SO incredibly proud of you Autumn!

Here she is with 4 of her teammates from the school softball team!

Oh my, what a proud GANKY!

I am proud of all of my Grandchildren!
Alex has grown up at the softball field!  She was pitching last night at her game!  I watched her pick up dirt in her hand (like her Sister) rub it on her pants (like her Sister) kick the dirt around on the pitching rubber (like her Sister) and pitched THREE STRIKES:)  This is a big deal for a little pitcher trying to get her groove on!

She got TWO hits and scored:)

THEY WON!  It was a big win for this little team!  Lots of the players on the other teams are much older and will be moving up in the Fall to the next age group!  This was a HAPPY team last night to beat the big kids:)

Happy Friday Everyone!  HUGS!

Home!

Home the place your story begins.

And this is where I put it!
The picture is a little crooked but the words are straight!  YES they are:)  I have had this for a while, needed to bring the ladder in so I could get way up there and just kept putting it off!  I like it!

I have a different one to add in my bedroom, that is my next project!

Have a blessed day!  I have a busy BUT fun day ahead!  More on that tomorrow:)  HUGS!

Smiles...

My afternoon was spent picking these cuties up at the bus stop, listening to their stories about their day and seeing their imagination at work!

I was getting them ready for their Mom to pick them up so we hustled outside!  This image of them following along behind their Pa reminded me of how little ducks follow behind their Mama Duck!  :)  I smiled!

At the edge of the woods are the sweetest smelling honeysuckles!  They remind me of my childhood!  I can close my eyes and almost feel like a little kid:)  It made me smile!

It is SO windy and chilly here... I decided that a pot of chili would be mighty tasty!  AND IT WAS!

When I went up to bed last night... this is what I saw!  My little granddaughters had made a tea party for their baby dolls!
You guessed it, I smiled:)

Have a blessed day my friends!  SMILE!

Lost and Found...

Look what I found in my garbage can!
Long story, SHORT... I cleaned my necklace Saturday morning and rushed out to Autumn's ballgame!  Saturday night, I realized it was gone!  It could be anywhere!  Sunday morning, we were out early to go back to the ballfield!  I glanced around to see if I had dropped it, checked pockets and shirts!  When we got home, I started picking each YUCKY piece of trash out... looking for my precious necklace!  Happy Happy Happy:)  I had thrown my necklace in the garbage!  It was still wrapped in the paper towel that I had dried it with after cleaning it!

My Niece Sonia made this rose!  I should make you guess what it is made out of...

But I won't:)  She used Duct tape!

Beautiful!  Beautiful!  Beautiful!

My Sister invited us for lunch to celebrate Sonia's Birthday!  We had SO much fun and ate WAY too much!    Sonia brought me a LOAD of flowers to use to decorate my Parent's Cemetery!  Thank you Sonia for the beautiful flowers!

The weather is CRAZY around here!  It is windy and chilly!  Never know what to wear these days!  Enjoy your Monday dear friends, HUGS!

Flowers, rocks and maters...

What is it about this picture that appeals to me?  The rain pushed these flowers down against the rocks!  It reminded  me of an old saying "between a rock and a hard place"!
Ever been there, I have:)

Do you enjoy your flowers before they even bloom?  I watch these little buds before they even start budding:)  I will have gardenia bouquets in my house when they start opening!  Until they open, I will enjoy the wait!

Speaking of waiting!  I watch the tomato plants, grow, bloom and LOOKIE here!  Tiny MATERS!  YeeHaw... yummy is about to happen!

It doesn't take much to make me smile:)  Hope something is making you smile today!  Remember to look at simple pleasures!  Sometimes they are right in front of our faces!  We have ballgames this weekend!
Busy days, happy days!

BIG HUGS and MUCH LOVE!!!!!

Laura Story and Blessings!

I saw this story on TV  about Laura Story and wanted to share it with you!  You can read the story here

and hear the entire song with the lyrics by clicking on  Blessings

  • Songwriters: Laura Mixon Story
We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering

All the while You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

What if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?

We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough

And all the while You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears?
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

And what if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?

When friends betray us, when darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears?
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst
This world can't satisfy?

And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise?

Beautiful and OH SO true!

I sent it to Justin to learn!  He is so talented!  He just hears a song and plays it on his guitar!  Amazing talent!  I sent him an email with the links and told him when I heard the song I thought of what a blessing he is to me... even when he was in Afghanistan!  I learned a lot about PRAYING while he was there, praying and believing!  I am thankful every day that he made it home safely!  I love you Justin!

I hope you all have a blessed day!  BIG HUGS!

Sharing a yummy recipe!

I am not the cook that my Sisters are!  I CAN however follow a recipe!  It seems when I take a dessert to a family gathering, the homemade cakes and pies are eaten and I take ALL of what I brought home!  Don't feel sorry for me, they can just cook better than me!  I didn't learn from my Mama "THE BESTEST COOK EVER" like they did:)

With that said, I tried this recipe shown on the Let's Dish blog!  I made it for Easter... doesn't it looks SO YUMMY?  EVERYONE said it was delicious!  My Grandson said that it beat out Banana Pudding and he LOVES Banana Pudding:)  My Great-nieces wanted the recipe because their husbands said they did!

Click on this link below to get the recipe!

This is what I had left and my Hubby smacked his lips while eating it at bedtime!  I will definitely make this again and again!

Have a blessed day dear friends, HUGS!

New door decor and a special Birthday!

After Easter there are always some good buys that are in the Easter section but can be used anytime!  I bought this wreath in the "after Easter" sale!  I decided to hang it on my front door!  I had the little plaque that I had bought at an Estate sale and hung it in the middle!
It says "Stop and smell the flowers"!

Last year, my Hubby and I planted a packet of wildflower seeds!  They came up, bloomed and bloomed and bloomed!  We were hopeful that they would give us joy again
this year and they ARE:)

See the yellow roses in this picture!  They were a gift from my Sister Barbara last year for my birthday, so many blooms:)  Thanks SIS!

Do you take time to "Stop and smell the flowers"?  I sure do!  Life gets so busy sometimes!  I don't ever want to be TOO busy!

After 30 years of working every single day,
sitting in traffic like this,

It is nice to move a little
slower and have the time to
"Stop and smell the flowers":)

Happy Birthday Sonia (my niece)  I love you SO much and hope you have an awesome day!  I love this picture of when she graduated many years ago:)  Beautiful!

Have a blessed day my friends, HUGS!
