Homecoming 2012

Here is my Beautiful Granddaughter Autumn, ready for her Homecoming Dance!

We snapped a few pictures at their house before heading out to meet her fella!

Justin is away at College but made it home
for his Girl!

We made the pictures at a local park!
Great idea Tracy!

A lake with a fountain, perfect backdrop!

Sweet and happy couple!

This is one of my favorites!

He brought her candy, flowers and a bear:)

Then off to that pretty red barn for some pics!

Almost done, just a few more:)

This is one Mama who does so much for her Children!  Shopping for the dress and jewelry, Ganky bought the shoes:)

I love her SO much and she knows it:)

I posted these pics on Facebook yesterday and got so many sweet comments!  Thanks for letting me show off my pretty and sweet Granddaughter!
I love her to the moon and back!

BIG day and LONG day!

Lots of pics but lots to show...

Alex's class was getting cupcakes delivered but a sick Daddy needed her Mommy to drive him to the doctor!  Gank to the rescue!  I jumped in the car and made that special delivery for that special Birthday Girl:)

We walked around and Alex gave each classmate a cupcake:)

I delivered a cupcake to her little Sister:)

I sat patiently waiting to give this TALL handsome fella a cupcake too!

Then to a movie!

She wanted to take a bunch of friends to see a Movie instead of having a Party!

Aunt Cindy surprised her by coming with us!

And another special Birthday surprise!
Cousin Justin!

See that Mommy on the FAR right leading the pack... she did everything to make it a special day for her 8 year old Daughter's Birthday!  Great job planning getting all of these kids to the movie, popcorn, drinks and lots of fun!  Thanks Tracy and I totally enjoyed the Movie!

Well... we sat on the back row and
left a little mess:)

Off to the School to meet the Parents
and more cupcakes:)

My Sister Barbara sent her a card with money, she said THANKS NANNY!

She got lots of gifts to donate and a gift for herself from Ganky and Pa!

Believe it or not... there's more!  On to the Football Game!  Beautiful MOON
and great Football!

Three Softball ladies looking pretty!  Today is the Homecoming Dance...
More pictures tomorrow:)

Avery is in the First Grade and was there to present flowers to her Senior on the Homecoming Court!

She is looking like a little princess!

Here she is with Brook, her Senior and also Autumn's Softball teammate!

Here is Avery giving her flowers to Brook

Happy 8th Birthday Alex!

My Granddaughter Alex is EIGHT today!  She is such a sweetheart!  Last night after her game, she said "I wish Dad didn't feel bad" (he has a terrible cold/sinus problem)  I told her that she should pray for him when she says her prayers!  She said "I will and I am praying for Jon Ross too":)  SWEET youngun, yes she is!  Here she is with my Daddy when she was a baby
and he was SO healthy:)

She plays softball and LOVES it... just like her big Sister!  She told me on the ride to the game that she loves playing 1st base and hopes that her Coach NEVER changes that!

Each day that I have with these kids is a gift to me!  I love them all, enjoy their Sports, enjoy their Birthdays and just every
day stuff with them!

We are so busy all the time and we enjoy it!  No cobwebs growing around our shoes!  Last night we had Autumn playing in Athens... hit a two run homer (Pa was there for that)  Austin playing football, getting two-point conversions, blocking, tackling (Tracy stayed for that game and I got to see 40 points of it) and the Birthday Girl getting THREE hits... I was there for that!  What a day!

Happy Birthday Sweet Alex!  You have a fun day ahead of you!  I love you SO MUCH!

This is her team singing to her last night:)

This is Homecoming week at School and today is Wacky Tacky Day:)  Here is the way they went to School!  CUTE!  Thanks for the picture Tracy:)

Have a blessed day dear friends!  Thank you all for the sweet comments yesterday!  I treasure your friendships, each and every one!

For one more day...

My Mama left us 24 years ago today!  About this time of the morning, I was at work and received a call that they couldn't wake her up!  My Husband drove me to their house, all the way I had my face in my hands praying that she was ok!  She wasn't!  I have relived that morning SO many times!  My Brother Leon and My Daddy were standing on the front porch to tell me that Mama was gone!  My knees buckled and My Daddy whispered that I had to stay strong for him!  Those words gave me strength to stand up straight and face another day!

What I wouldn't give to have just ONE more day with her!  I would sit on the front porch with her for as long as she wanted to!  I would go shopping with her and buy her a beautiful dress!  I would take her to get her hair done or anything else she wanted!  I would tell her about my Grandchildren and all that they are doing!  I would tell her about ALL of her precious Children and Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and how much they all mean to me!

I will see her in Heaven, that I know for sure!

Just ONE MORE day!  Oh how I wish I could have just one more day...

Have a blessed day dear friends!  BIG HUGS!

Wondering about Justin?

Have any of you been wondering what our Former Marine is up too?  Well, he is enjoying life:)  He will be going to School starting in January!  He was recently voted Superintendent of Sunday School and Sunday School teacher for his age group!  I am so proud of him, he sings and plays that guitar, can pray the sweetest prayers and makes me smile constantly!
I love him and he loves me:)

WE are busy with games this week, having lunch with friends today and loving our beautiful weather!

Here is the update on Jon Ross from yesterday...

Tues. Sept.25

Written 18 hours ago
Jon Ross is having a great day. The physical therapist and occupational therapist both came in to start working with Jon Ross about 30minutes ago. We had no idea that they would have him sitting up on the side of the bed today. They had him sitting up with help of course. They had him working with a ball. He held the ball and tried to roll it to Van, he kicked the ball a little, and he moved both arms up. They said that all he just did with them was wonderful and that it was like running a marathon for us. They will continue to come in every day and work with him. We cannot get over how much he has done today. He is such a strong boy. Keep up the good work Rossie!!!! And everybody keep lifting up the prayers!!!

A visit, a pink out...

My Sister Barbara and I took a little ride to visit our Brother Marshall yesterday!  He isn't feeling well and I would so appreciate your prayers!  We chatted and enjoyed our visit with family:)  That was half the day and the evening was spent at the ballfield!

It was a PINK OUT for Breast Cancer awareness!  Lady Dawgs "Bring Home a Cure"

My Girl was pink from head to toe!

The National Anthem... ALWAYS!

And after the game, they gathered with the other team for a prayer!

It was a cool evening, perfect for a game of Softball:)  Loving the cooler weather and enjoying my morning coffee!  Have a blessed day dear friends, BIG HUGS!

Update on Jon Ross... written by his Mother

Monday , Sept.24

Written 12 hours ago
The breathing tube came out today and he is still breathing good on his own. I wanted to wait a while before we posted to make sure he did ok. He is still very sleepy. Jon Ross has been snoring up a storm. He looks so much better. He is looking like my"Rossie". I asked him to squeeze my hand today and he gave me and firm squeeze and moved his toes again. Hopefully tomorrow he will be a little more alert. Please don't stop the prayers! Keep them coming! We have a long ways to go but making small steps right on!

She is gonna be EIGHT...

AND would you listen to what she wants to do for her Birthday!  Yes, I am bragging on my Granddaughter!  Alex will be EIGHT on Friday and doesn't want gifts for herself!  What?  SHE wants to donate gifts to the CHILDREN'S HEALTH CARE OF ATLANTA!   Tracy asked her several times and she is QUITE clear about NOT wanting gifts for herself!  It amazes me that a child this small can do something so selfless!  I am proud, SOOOOO PROUD!
I am gonna shop for gifts for her to donate and lots of them:)  She will also get something special for herself from Ganky and Pa!  She recently went to a friend's birthday party where they asked the guests to bring pajamas to donate!  I think we could ALL take a lesson from these little ones!  Just had to share that with you all!  I am incredibly proud of you ALEX!  You are precious and I love you to the moon and back!

Have a blessed day my friends!  BIG HUGS and GINORMOUS blessings!

Just a little...

I added a little bit of Fall decor!

Just enough...

I still haven't pulled the tubs out of the attic!  Perhaps this week!

Just a few fall leaves on the mantel
made me happy:)

It is 58 degrees here this morning!  That feels good here in the South!  Have a blessed day dear friends, BIG HUGS!

Nothing new on Jon Ross, hopefully they are removing the breathing tube today!  Please keep the prayers flowing!
