Surprise in the mail...

When the mail came yesterday, I opened a bright yellow envelope!  It was a thank you note from my 17 year old Grandson Austin!  A thank you note for one of his Christmas presents that he loves!  A hand written note from his heart to mine!  Don't 'cha just LOVE getting a note or card in the mail?  ME TOO:)  After the game last night, I hugged him and told him how special it was to receive his sweet note!  From my Grandson...

This is going to be a GORGEOUS weekend and I will be sitting in the stands watching my Granddaughter Autumn play her first games of the Season!  OH MY, can my heart take all of this excitement?  Yes!  Have a blessed day dear friends!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Anybody else losing followers...

I have noticed recently that the number of followers on my blog is dropping every day!  I remembered a notice posted some time back which might be the cause and thought I would share:)  So, it isn't people deciding not to follow, it is just because of HOW they follow you!  

Here is the explanation...

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post) that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

An adventure...

My Sister had an appointment downtown Atlanta yesterday and I was her lovely assistant:)  We left early, made lots of loops around the same streets and reached our destination 2 hours early!  OOPS, that's the way I roll!  So... it's lunchtime and we looked on our phones for somewhere to grab lunch!  Lots more loops around the same streets and we found a place!  We will remember this day and the laughs we had:)  This picture was from a reunion several years ago and is one of my favorites!  Cindy looks the same today as she did then, love the short haircut Sis!

I started thinking about WHAT to have for dinner last night and came up with this!  I had some chicken short-cuts, a big green bell pepper, large onion, roasted red peppers, mushrooms... this is what it turned into!  It was really delicious, quick and easy!

I have NO plans for today!  Laundry is done and I might make a quick run to Walmart and the bank!  Otherwise, I will be tackling a few chores around my house!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

We just so happened to be pretty close to The Varsity!  I don't get it very often and really enjoyed the taste that is only available at THE VARSITY:)

Off to Austin's basketball game!  We sat really close to the floor last night and I took lots of pictures and videos:)  This team has had a really tough year but last night played their best game ever!  We still lost but OMG what a game it was!

I am getting my day going with my cup of coffee and GMA!  Sometimes I am slower to get moving, today is one of those days!  Have a really blessed day dear friends, BIG HUGS and PRAYERS!

When God made Grandkids...

I know we all feel this way:)  I can't imagine what a boring life I would be having without them!  Our Calendars are full (year-round) and we wouldn't change it for anything in the World!

It is Basketball Season and Austin's games are keeping us on the move!  We enjoyed watching him play last night and waiting around after the game for lots of hugs!  Yes this TALL, HANDSOME, TIRED and SWEATY Grandson... HUGS!  It is awesome to get that hug and "I love you" from Grandkids, big and small:)

  Autumn is about to start playing Softball and Oh HONEY, we'll be BUSY!  But what would we be doing otherwise:)  Exactly!  When God made Grandkids, He gave me the BEST!

I don't get to be a part of their daily lives but love them completely!  Perhaps some day we will live in the same State:)

My Niece Kelly is about to be blessed with her first Grandchild!  It's a little boy and she and Jeff are going to be AWESOME Grandparents!  I know that for SURE!  Can't wait to meet that little one and see him put a light in their eyes that only a Grandchild can do:)

Super Bowl set...

After my morning Church service, I settled in for some Football!  The Denver Broncos won a real nail-biter and the Carolina Panthers won a blow-out!  I have always been a Peyton Manning fan and feel like at his age, this could be it for him!  Cam Newton, golly gee is he good!  It is always sad for the teams who don't move on!  It takes a lot of hard work to make it to the playoffs.  I hope that these two teams will give us a great show on February 7th:)

Soup, Movie, Moon...

With snow on the ground and my comfy jogging pants on (not going jogging) this is one of my favorite cold weather day lunches!  Chicken noodle soup and a peanut butter and jelly sammy!  OH YUM with lots of black pepper:)

We watch lots of sports but not many movies!  I bought this movie a long time ago and we decided to tackle the DVD player last night to watch it!  Success with getting it loaded and it was a great movie!  I have to say, during this movie  I thought about my Nephew Justin A LOT and SO thankful that he made it out of that place alive!  My heart breaks for Taya Kyle and what she has gone thru:(

There was a full moon last night and I had to get a picture of it:)  SO BIG and beautiful!

Tasted like my Mama cooked it...

Oh my goodness, SO yummy and tasted like my Mama cooked it:)  Do you ever eat something and it makes you think about your Mama?  My Dinner was SO delicious last night and YES, it reminded me of Sunday dinners that my Mama cooked!  My Mama was the best cook ever and I don't ever remember eating anything that she made that wasn't mouthwatering delicious:)  I felt kinda proud last night when my Husband went on and on about how good dinner was:)

I didn't want to... but I got my hair done yesterday!  Lots of people LOVE to go to the beauty shop, but not me!  I love my hairdresser but just hate taking the time to go!  It looks much better this morning than it did yesterday morning and I am happy to have a fresh new cut and color:)  With my new hair-do, I made a visit to Hobby Lobby for bridal shower supplies and since it is a rainy morning out... I have plenty inside to keep me busy!

He chose chili and baked potato...

I gave my Hubs a choice, soup and cornbread OR chili and baked potato!  He chose chili:)  Simple and OH SO yummy!  Great meal on a cold night!

Cold weather is here...

Remember when we were talking about what a warm Winter we were having?  DO YOU remember?  WELL... the cold weather is here!  Snow and ice in the North part of our State but not here, just cold!  I brought out the UGG boots yesterday and they keep my feet toasty warm:)  Coats and scarves, boots and warm socks are the attire for this kind of weather!  I just saw a weather report for up North, lots of snow coming for them.  Stay safe my friends, stay warm!

The cold weather doesn't keep us from watching the Grandkids do what they do!  Austin had a basketball game last night and although they lost, he played his heart out!  I slept in this morning, snuggled in and warm... now I am getting my day going with a hot cup of coffee!  Today would be a good day for a pot of soup, right?  I think that sounds yummy!  Have a blessed day dear friends, BIG HUGS and PRAYERS from my heart to yours!

Grocery shopping and a recipe...

I had to go grocery shopping yesterday!  I didn't want to go, I HAD to go!  Our cupboards were kinda bare of things to cook!  While I was gathering up the things that we needed for meals, I couldn't help but stop to snap a picture of things that I would love to load in my cart:)  These are a few of my favorite things!  I don't buy them but I LOVE them:)

This recipe had been on Facebook recently and I really wanted to try it!  It was yummy!  The pork chops were SO tender:)

I don't like to run late...

I rushed out yesterday morning knowing I was running late!  Grabbed my Bible and off I go!  Nothing was going my way... everyone was driving SO slow and I didn't have any time to waste!  But... I kept going, watching the clock and planning to jump out of the car and rush in!  I truly HATE to be late!  As I entered the Church, one of the Deacons was at the back door!  I said "Better late than never"!  He said we just started:)  It was a WONDERFUL SERVICE and I am SO happy that I didn't let running late keep me at home!

We watched Football all afternoon and they were ALL great games!  I am having a wonderfully hot cup of coffee and watching GMA!  Hope you are enjoying your morning!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Oh my, look at the sky...

I peeled myself off of the sofa to get the mail yesterday afternoon and snapped a picture of the sky:)  The sky was SO blue behind the white clouds!  It reminded me of this verse...

Psalm 36:5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

My full Friday wore me out and I spent most of Saturday doing absolutely nothing!  That was OK because there was nothing I had to do:)  We watched lots of good football and I cooked taco salads for dinner, rotel cheese dip and chips AND yes... more football!  I hope my energy returns today:)

Long but Fun Friday...

It was a really long but FUN Friday!  We had a wonderful time with these two granddaughters!  Here we are settling in before the movie:)

They first chose the front row, I said what's your second choice... the back row:)  Fortunately we had our pick of ANY seat we wanted!

Friday lunch, movie and Christmas gifts!  Let's just say, they were all smiles:)  They really loved their sleeping bags and jammies from Aunt Tracy and Family!

Their brother was with some friends from Church but he has a load of gifts waiting on him when gets there:)  We stopped at Walmart and chose some flowers for them to take to their Grandmother, I know that they put a smile on her face!  Austin had an 8:30 ballgame, an hour and a half from home!  Needless to say, it was really late when we got home!  I think I closed my eyes at midnight!  Sleepy this morning but smiling remembering our fun Friday:)

What to do on a rainy Friday...

The radar shows solid green and yellow!  What can you do that's fun on a REALLY rainy Friday!  YES, a new movie!  These little ones are in town for a few days and we are gonna pick them up to see a movie, have lunch and deliver Christmas gifts:)

Their other Grandmother is putting up a really hard battle with Cancer!  God knows what the future holds even when we don't!  I continue to pray for ALL of them!  I know it is really tough to watch a loved one suffer:(  I pray that God will hold them ALL in his loving arms and give them peace in their hearts!

Just lunch and precious memories...

Sometimes you just have lunch on a January day:)  That's what we did, Christmas gifts for my Aunt, good food and sweet times together!  I sure do cherish days like this!

My Sister Brenda gave me a beautiful and YUMMY cake that my Niece Regina made!  OH MY GOODNESS, moist and delicious!  It is SO wonderful!  I had a piece mid-afternoon!  Thank you Susta!

My Aunt gave my Sister Barbara a photo album with some wonderful OLD pictures!  These pictures are precious!  I took a few snapshots of those pictures!  While the quality isn't perfect... I loved seeing them and wanted to share a few with my family who read my blog:)

Wednesday fun...

Great night for Basketball:)  Austin started the game and played his heart out!  Golly Gee, that boy can fly from one end of the court to the other!

Today I will be having lunch with some of my loved ones:)  We didn't get to see my Aunt during Christmas, so... we are having lunch with her today!  She is my Mama's Baby Sister and we all love her to pieces!

What a game...

I slept thru this, but what a game!  I watched until I couldn't keep my eyes open:)  From the replays I saw this morning, "what a game"!  Congrats to Alabama!  It takes a lot of hard work and wins to even make it to this game... AWESOME accomplishment for both teams!

It is another chilly morning here, a hot cup of coffee and some GMA gets me moving!  I had a really productive day yesterday and hope to get some more work done today around the house!  When it is cold outside, being able to stay in is really nice:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, BIG HUGS and PRAYERS coming your way!

Winter is here...

Winter is here!  It is BRRRRRRR cold outside!  Yes, it is January and should be cold... having to bring out the WARM coats, gloves and hats!

Lots of good football yesterday, coldest game was in Minnesota MINUS 3 degrees!  Now that is cold!  We watched some of the Golden Globes last night, love seeing all of the pretty dresses:)  My Computer is moving pretty slow this morning, I think it is cold too!  Have a blessed day dear friend, I am staying in and staying warm!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!  

Powerball and basketball...

We didn't win, but neither did anybody else:)  Oh well, I only play when it gets really big!  This Wednesday is estimated to be 1.3 BILLION!  I will take a chance on that one too:)

We watched Austin play his heart out on the basketball court last night!  I must say, he gives it everything he has!  We LOVE watching him play:)  If you can see this, he is #14... goes down and doesn't give up!  Way to go Austin!  Pa and I are SO proud of you!

Squeaky clean...

It's a tough job but somebody has to do it:)  I spent my Friday tackling some areas in my house that needed attention!  It feels good to get some things checked off my list!  Still lots to be done but if I can accomplish at least one thing every day... I'll eventually get it all done, won't I?  Squeaky clean is my goal:)

We had a late night at Austin's Basketball game!  I think I closed my eyes at midnight and that is WAY late for this Ganky:)  It is going to be a rainy day today and we have another Basketball game!  My Granddaughter Autumn is leaving for College this morning:(  I pray that God will be her co-pilot and deliver her safely to her College!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Shopping, giggling, lunch...

We shopped, we laughed, we ate lunch and shopped some more!  My Autumn and I sitting together at lunch!  She is SO precious to me:)  She will be leaving tomorrow to go back to school and I will be praying for her to have a safe journey!  Softball games will be starting the end of the month and we will be right there cheering her on!

Proud Ganky moment... Alex won a Blue Ribbon for her project:)  I am SO proud of this sweet Granddaughter of mine!  She is in 4-H and so was I MANY years ago:)  I am excited to see what the future holds for Alex!
