Oh yes I did...

I just returned from a WONDERFUL "Girl's Trip"!  Tracy, her three girls and I went to Nashville for the Justin Bieber Concert.  I wasn't "that" big a fan of his but I AM NOW:)  It was the best show I have ever been to!  I will share a few of the pics that I took.  I had an awesome time with the Girls:)  Off we go...

OMG, It is HOT HOT HOT...

OMG, it is hot here in the South.  I know it is hotter in other parts of the Country but it is TOO HOT for me to be outside these days.  Lots of outside chores to do and the heat just saps my energy!  I should get out in the mornings, but... here I sit with my coffee:)  Maybe a little later...

Not much...

I tried to think of what I did yesterday and here is what I came up with... NOTHING:)  Seriously, I was one lazy lady.  Oh I did a few things like add some stuff to the pool, picked tomatoes, painted a few spindles on the porch and cooked dinner!  Other than that, I just couldn't get moving.  It was OK, because there weren't any pressing things on my "to-do" list.  SO... I enjoyed watching the Braves game after dinner and off to sleep for the night.

A good morning prayer for you...

I spent yesterday with my Sister-in-law June at the Cancer center.  It was an eye-opening experience for me.  There were people everywhere, each with someone who cares about them.  The Hospital staff were SO kind and helpful.  We made it through the day and June impressed me with her smile and positive attitude.  I have NO doubt that June is going to be healed and free of cancer at the end of her treatment!  I pray daily for her return to good health and complete healing!

Oh "Deer" and a special day...

Yesterday was a busy one for me!  The deer decided to help eat the tomatoes and I had to put an end to that.  I used a technique that my Dad taught me, and it worked last night:)  The pool needed some TLC and I added some chemicals to take care of it.  A trip to the grocery store for a few things and off to Austin's scrimmage game for Basketball and a late dinner!  I was kinda tired when I finally landed last night!  Later this morning, I am going with my Sister-in-law for one of her treatments!  I know that I will enjoy my time visiting with June!  

TODAY, is my Niece Crystal's Birthday!  Happy Birthday Crystal!  I love you SO much!  I hope you have a REALLY great day:)

Lunch again and shopping...

Lunch again and shopping:)  This was my side-kick yesterday as we rode to spend time with the girls!  We sure have a lot of fun together!  Making the most of the days of Summer Vacation!

Pa was the recipient of a bag full of loot for Father's Day!  "Thank you Tracy and Family", SAYS PA:)  New running gear and swim trunks and shirt for vacation!

That's it for my yesterday, shopping and lunch, watching Pa open his gift, cooking dinner and settling in for some TV watching!  Praying for June every minute!  Love to all and big HUGS coming your way!

The official first day of...

I have to say, this has been the most wonderful weather weekend!  The humidity was low and the temps were great!  When it is SO hot, I stay inside... but this weekend I hardly came inside!  We worked on our little cottage and another day of painting will be needed:)  The cooler temperatures won't last long, but perhaps one more day:)

I visited the cemetery yesterday and freshened the flowers with some bright yellow ones for Father's Day!  It looked really nice!  I sure do miss my Mama and Daddy!  What I wouldn't give for just one more day with them!

Holding hands and Happy B'day...

When they were much smaller, I would grab the little one's hands to keep them safe!  Nowadays, they grab my hand to help me across the street!  No, I don't really need that yet, but isn't it sweet that they do it anyway!  Autumn is constantly holding my hand and I LOVE it!  Avery and I were having a little chat on the way into the restaurant:)  Moments in time, precious moments in time!  Tracy captured this moment, she knew I would love it:)

Fun day and a recipe...

I spent yesterday with my Daughter and 3 granddaughters, lunch and a little shopping:)  It was a great day, another hot one but thankful I have air conditioning!  Tracy and Autumn have been cooking some really yummy recipes.  This was one that they shared and ladies, it is a delicious casserole.  I made it (halved the recipe) added chopped tomatoes, cream of mushroom soup instead of the heavy cream and used only two eggs.  OMG, it was SO GOOD!

More tomatoes from the garden AND the first cucumber:)  YUMMY!

Here is the recipe for the casserole...

INGREDIENTS
2 pounds ground beef
2 large garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 pound bacon, cooked and chopped
8 eggs
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
12 ounces grated cheddar cheese, divided

INSTRUCTIONS
Brown ground beef with garlic and onion powder.
Drain excess grease, then spread beef on bottom of 9x13-inch casserole pan.
Stir bacon pieces into cooked beef.
In medium bowl, whisk together eggs, tomato paste, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Stir 8 ounces grated cheese into egg mixture.
Pour egg mixture over beef and bacon.
Top with remaining 4 ounces of grated cheese.
Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top.
NOTES
Mushrooms, onions, and pickles are great add-ins!

Blogger isn't being nice...

Blogger isn't being nice to me:(  When I post first thing in the morning, that post doesn't appear on the sidebar until MANY hours later!  I don't know why but it is getting on my nerves!  With that said, I continue to post:)  I did what I said I would yesterday, cleaned!  Clutter cleaning and some serious sorting and organizing!  Am I finished, NO... but it sure feels good to get some things accomplished!  It is HOT here in the South!  I stayed inside most of yesterday but stepped outside late in the day, it was stifling hot!  It is supposed to be a few degrees cooler this weekend and it will be welcomed:)  

SO... TODAY is the day my Sister-in-law June starts her Chemo.  I thought it was yesterday but it is today!  Please continue to pray for her, my Brother and my Nieces!  Prayer is carrying them through!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Yawn...

Oh my goodness, I never sleep late but I just woke up... well a little while ago!  I guess I was just sleeping SO good and my little tweeting birds weren't tweeting outside my window!  Anyway, I am up now and having my first cup of coffee!

I am declaring this cleaning day at my house!  As soon as I finish my coffee, I am getting going!  SO many things that need attention and TODAY, I will be doing just that!  Please remember my Sister-in-law June in your prayers as she starts her Chemo!  Kicking Cancer's Butt is what she is gonna do, I believe!

Needing to go Grocery shopping and having to stop on the way home, but wait... Tracy had a huge bag of shrimp:)  I thanked her and off I went to make dinner for me and my Hubby!  Shrimp were delicious, thanks again Tracy!

We made a trip to celebrate Maverick's birthday and got a bonus to see Madison play the violin!  It was a really fun time with our little grandchildren who are not so little anymore:(  Here are some pictures from our weekend!

Happy Birthday Maverick...

My littlest Grandchild is FIVE years old today!  He is precious and ALWAYS smiling!  I love him and he loves me! 

 What a sweet and OH SO handsome little fella, just growing up too fast!

He had a really rough start... but with lots of great care at the hospital and at home, HE IS PERFECT!  It is hard to believe this was 5 years ago!

Mav, I hope you will have a wonderful birthday!  Pa and I can't wait to celebrate with you and your Sisters:)

Miracles still happen...

My Sister-in-law June got wonderful news yesterday!  While she still has to have Chemo, her Cancer is a different kind and her chemo can be administered without the long hospital stays once thought!  We are shouting "Hallelujah"!  Please keep her in your prayers.  She will start her first treatment next week OUT-PATIENT!

My Sister Cindy is in the Hospital with extremely low blood pressure!  They are running tests on her and hopefully we will get some answers today on what is going on!  She has lost 40 pounds and trying really hard to be healthy!  I pray that today will be the day that she feels better!  I would appreciate your prayers for my Sister too!

First red ones...

The first red tomatoes of the Season, washed, sliced and eaten:)  Along with smoked sausage, cabbage, baked beans and cornbread!  YUMMY in my TUMMY:)  Now to watch for some 

more to turn red!  

While outside last night, I had to take a picture of the dwarf gardenias!  OH they are full of blooms and growing thru the fence to the other side!  My little house porch is getting fixed by my sweet husband!  He is doing an awesome job and I will be happy to get her all fixed up:)

Post about posts...

This is a public service post.  If you have a deck/porch, examine the posts.  Often we hear about decks falling and people getting injured or worse.  I had always thought that the decks were just not secured to the house as they should be.  BUT... this happened to my little cottage out back.  My husband noticed the tops of the posts separating at the top, started investigating and found that the posts were rotten at the bottom, causing the porch to lean forward.  There was concrete at the bottom, but the dirt around the posts retaining moisture over the years was the cause.  Fortunately Marc noticed it and we have a plan to fix it.  Derek offered his help too:)  While my porch is low to the ground and not used very often, lots of people have tall decks.  Check the posts at the bottom, please and thank you:)

It's getting fixed and will be good as new soon:)

Visit and Verses...

I didn't feel like going to Church yesterday because of my pulled neck muscle, but I went anyway!  None of my family members were there, my Brother-in-law was preaching at another Church and Kelly was probably wore slap out!  It was a small crowd but a wonderful service!  Sometimes the message just speaks louder than others and yesterday... it spoke to me!  When I left the house, I had a plan to stop and visit my Mama's best friend who is also my best friend's Mama:)  SO I did!  She had an event to attend that afternoon but while I was there, we talked about EVERYTHING!  We shared what was going on in our lives, we laughed and cried!  I love this lady SO much and enjoyed our time together!  Henrietta is one of a kind and 

I am thankful for her!

I made a couple of pictures yesterday of verses in the Bible!  My Sister-in-law starts her Chemo this week and when I saw these verses... well God spoke to my heart to share them!  Praying continuously for June!
