Everything is coming up daisies...

Everything is coming up daisies!  Yes, the swamp daisies are blooming and reaching for the sky:)  They are so tall and bright yellow!

Yesterday was a glorious day!  The weather was perfect and after getting my chores done inside, I took a chair and sat in the driveway for a long time!  Yes, it is 53 degrees this morning and although I haven't been outside yet... Celebrating #12...

Alex had a great birthday!  Her Mama made cookies for the class and brought lunch to Alex, Avery, Austin and his girl Lexi:)  What a sweet Mama who makes all of her children feel 

extra-special!

We met for dinner last night at the restaurant of Alex's choice!  Cindy made this CUTEST cake and it was delicious!

We had a big crowd and loved celebrating Alex's 12th birthday together:)

On this day in 1988, My Mama went to be with Jesus!  I will see her again in Heaven and give her lots of hugs!  She would be SO proud of our HUGE family and love we all feel for each other!

I miss you Mama every second of every day!  I love you and will always remember this Christmas and those little ducks that made you smile!

Washing money down the drain...

So... Saturday morning as I was getting ready for the Bridal Shower, I dropped one of my NEW contacts down the drain:(  OH NO!  There was nothing I could do about it except put the old pair in and head out!  I felt really stupid for doing that but in 40 years, that was the first time!

I had a plan just in case we couldn't get it out of the pipe other than pay another $300 to replace it!  First thing, I still had my old pair!  Second, the eye doctor had to tweak the left one and still had the first version!  SO... instead of stressing too bad about it, I called the eye doctor and stopped by after the shower to pick the NON-tweaked left contact!  I decided to search the internet to find out how to take the drain apart and got the instructions:)  When Marc came home from his 16 mile run, I told him what happened:(  He got the tools and together we opened the pipe drained the water and searched for that little piece of glass that helps me see!  Do you wanna know if we found it?

YES WE DID:)  I was SO excited!  I thanked Marc SO many times for helping me and not complaining:)

Sunday was a great day, Church in the morning and Avery rode with me after spending the night with Cindy!  We had lunch and a nice chat before she went home with her Mama!  Have a blessed Monday dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Shower and Homecoming...

First event of my Saturday, my Great-nephew Ross and his fiance Jennifer's wedding shower!  It was a beautiful morning, lots of delicious food and wonderful gifts!  My Niece Kelly saved toddler Ross's little boots and put flowers in them on the table:)  What a sweet conversation I had with Ross about those boots!  He said that his PawPaw (my brother Marshall) put a new toe on one of them because he wore them so much!  I wish these two a lifetime of happiness!

Then... after a short time off I go to see these two for Homecoming!  Lexi looked beautiful and Austin SO handsome!  I love them both!

Friday re-cap...

This is my first stop yesterday, hearing Alex play and sing!  What a joy, she was SO nervous but did a wonderful job!  Her Chorus teacher said "I didn't know she could play"!  My video was too big but I will figure out how to shorten it and will post it!  My Sister Barbara loves to see them:)

Next was the Pep Rally!  Senior football players including my Grandson Austin:)

 How did he get SO tall?  I love this Grandson SO SO SO much:)

Homecoming game!  My Son-in-law was asked to drive one of the girls in his little red corvette!  And of course, he said yes:)

Today is going to be a really busy day AND tomorrow too:)  Today... Lots of fun starting with a talent show for Alex, and she IS VERY talented:)  Pep rally for today's homecoming game and then the game!  Can't wait!  Tomorrow morning is my Great-Nephew Ross and his Fiance Jennifer's bridal shower and then Austin's homecoming dance!

Hello Autumn...

It doesn't feel much like the first day of Autumn, BUT... they say it will soon!  I will continue to look forward to a little cooler weather:)  I have started getting out my pants/leggings!  It won't be long...

We don't all agree... but be kind to one another!  I woke up this morning to the violent protest in Charlotte NC.  SO SAD to see such destruction and pain in that city:(  Praying for our Country and all that is dividing it!

Not too exciting...

My day wasn't too exciting yesterday, and that's ok:)  It seems I spend a lot of time and money at the grocery store!  We eat at home a lot and that's ok too:)  BUT... I am always looking for something different to cook!  Yesterday, I cooked pork chops in the oven using ritz crackers as the crust and they were yummilicious!  This isn't my picture, mine looked even better... believe it or not:)  Hashbrown casserole and green beans, we ate it all!

Here is the recipe if you are interested:)

         Baked pork chops

• 1cup Ritz cracker
• 3tablespoons parmesan cheese
• 1⁄2teaspoon salt
• 1⁄4teaspoon pepper
• 1egg
• 2tablespoons milk
• 6pork chops

• DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine cracker crumbs, cheese, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Beat egg and milk in shallow bowl.
  3. Coat pork chops in crumb mixture.
  4. Dip in egg mixture and into crumbs again.
  5. Pour melted butter into baking dish.
  6. Arrange pork chops in prepared dish.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes on each side (I use THICK chops, so if yours are thin, decrease baking time.).

A surprise visitor and baby shower...

My Son-in-law's Sister, Ginger is having a baby in November and her Baby Shower was yesterday:)  It was a beautiful shower, lots of good food and sweet treats!  Tracy's cookies were perfect!

Autumn surprised us with a visit home from College to attend the shower!  Alex, Avery, Autumn and I rode together!  What a joy they are to me!  Thankful that Autumn returned back to College safely!

Love these two...

This is my Brother Marshall and Sister-in-law June!  June has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and has to go to Emory quite frequently!  She is a real trouper and keeps that sweet smile on her face!  My Niece Kelly had some allergies yesterday morning and didn't feel that it was a good idea to take her Mama!  My Niece Crystal sent me a text message to see if I could take their Mama for her Neulasta shot!  I had NOTHING to do yesterday, no appointments and no plans... perfect day for me to spend doing something for my sweet loved ones!  I love them ALL SO much and pray that smooth days are ahead for this family!  They deserve it!  As we were leaving, I asked them for a picture... SO GLAD I DID:)  Love these two!

Leaves falling and prayer request...

Last night I was sitting outside in a chair just watching the leaves fall!  It was a peaceful night, my husband was working in the yard and I was just sitting there!  Sometimes it is good to just slow down and enjoy the moment!  The leaves are beginning to turn and fall, it is still hot but I can feel the change coming soon in the weather:)  

I am thankful for that!

My prayer request for today is for my Sister-in-law June's brother Johnny!  He has been battling colon cancer and isn't doing good!  I know that June's heart is heavy, not for her own cancer she is fighting but for her brother!  Please join me in prayer for this family, for Bobby who has taken extra-special care of his brother and this entire family!  Thank you bunches for your prayers!

Old friends, forever friends...

Old friends, forever friends!  These are some of my former co-workers, we get together occasionally and not often enough:)  BUT... yesterday this group gathered around the table, talked and laughed about everything!  It was a great time, I treasure these friends!

This is my friend Joan, golly gee... we have been friends forever:)  I love her SO much and we always take a picture together!  She sings with a Christian group and I can't wait to hear her sing in October!  We always pick right up where we left off, friends for life no matter how far away we live from each other!

It was a beautiful day, the sky was bright blue with puffy white clouds, I turned the radio up and sang all the way home!  Today I have a dermatologist appointment, another item checked off my to-do list:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

DWTS Season 23...

After a full day... oil change, picked up my replacement contact, quick stop at the grocery store for milk, eggs and bananas, home for a few chores and dinner!  THEN, it was time to settle in for DWTS... It was a great show, I always pick who will go home first and who I think will win:)  Then at the end, there were protesters who ran on the stage while Ryan Lochte was about to get his scores, they cut to a commercial and I saw the videos this morning of what actually happened!  Crazies are everywhere:(

America, the flag, Amazing Grace...

Sunday morning, 9/11/16... This is where I was, our little Country Church.  My Nephew Justin placed the American Flag in front of the altar and we STOOD as we sang...

Remembering 9/11 on 9/11...

It's hard to believe it's been 15 years but it has!  I was thinking back to that day!  Where I was in 2001, sitting at my desk on my last year of working, listening to the radio... hearing the shock and disbelief of the announcers as the first tower was hit!  AND then the second... silence!  We all gathered around the TV in the conference room as we watched those towers come down:(  Sadness shared among Americans everywhere!  God bless those who were there, near there, those who ran into danger to save others, those who had someone they love who didn't survive!  Sad day!  God bless America!

Not one but two...

Another late night, 28-0 win!  Wait, 28 points and 14 of those were Austin's!  SO PROUD of him and how hard he plays!

Great game!  No game next Friday and they deserve a night off!

Meet me at the Daisies...

Oh my, 10:00 AM and the parking lot was full!  Hmmmm, looks like the 8:00 AM early bird entrance for $5.00 was a hit!  BUT... we got there at 10:00!

Tracy and I met at the gate, had our picture made with the daisies and off we went!  We walked and looked, booth to booth!  I love being there, it was hot and a bit crowded!  We spend a lot of time talking about how we could make the crafts:)
