A sweet visit and warm cake...

There was one important thing on my list yesterday, visit my brother Leon!  AND I did just that!  He is doing wonderful after his knee replacement surgery!  I am amazed at how just one week ago, he had the surgery and now he is moving pretty doggone good:)  Praying for my brother that he gets a little better every day!  He looks JUST like our Daddy, yes he does:)
I love you Leon!

While sitting and chatting, my Sister-in-law Becky was leaving the room to check on this!  She made a pound cake that was smelling heavenly!  Do I want a piece, YES I DO!  Seriously, it melted in my mouth AND they insisted on sending Marc a piece... and me another piece!  YUM!  Thanks Becky:)

My Sister-in-law June had her first Labs yesterday since being in remission, PRAISE GOD for great results!  I am thankful every day for her continued good health!

I am also thankful that my Nephew Bradley and his family closed on their new house yesterday!  They had to jump over lots of hurdles but kept jumping and now are first-time homeowners!  Love them and can't wait to see it in person!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Yummy soup on a chilly day...

It was a really nice Sunday, Church and back home to relax!  Isn't it nice to come in and just chill!  That's what I did!  Nothing on my MUST DO list and so I just curled up on my sofa with my blanket and flipped the channels on the TV:)  I started thinking about dinner and decided on soup!  I had never made this recipe but was it EVER delicious:)  Taco soup with shredded cheese and chopped onions with hot buttered cornbread!  It might be my new favorite soup:)

Here is the recipe:)  I didn't have the variety of beans so I just used pintos!  I added an extra can of diced tomatoes!  This is a keeper for sure!

My Monday is just getting started with some coffee and GMA!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Full day and dinner guest...

A busy, full day and it was just fine with me!  Austin has been playing in the last few games of his Senior Year!  I am SO thankful that his leg healed for him to play!

Home for some rest and dinner!  Avery sat this little doll at the table yesterday morning for breakfast:)  I purchased her at a doll shop in Helen Georgia when Autumn was a little girl because the tag said her name was Autumn:)  When we sat down for dinner last night, it made me smile to see that little doll seated across from me!  We enjoyed our little/not so little granddaughter's overnight visit SO much!  The pitter-patter of feet upstairs was a sweet change from the normal silence:)

Sweet Sunday morning here where I am!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Beast mode...

Avery was just that last night... "Beast Mode"!  She played almost the entire game and was AWESOME!

AND she scored:)

TIRED?  Yes, she was tired:)  She curled up on the sofa before and after we had a pizza party!  Alex and Avery had a sleepover at our house while their Parents went out for the evening!

Alex entertained us... first on our family piano!  The piano needs new keys and a good tuning but she sure made it sound wonderful!

AND then she played her ukulele and sang:)  Alex is a talented young lady!

More basketball today!  It is winding down and we have totally enjoyed this Season for both Austin and Avery!  Austin is moving pretty darn good after his broken leg healed, still going to therapy and practicing hard!  I am enjoying my coffee and waiting on the smiles to come around the corner:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, BIG HUGS and PRAYERS coming your way!

The RING...

On the road early Wednesday to watch this... the presentation of Autumn's World Series Ring!  We had lunch together, Tracy, Autumn and me:)  Did a little shopping, checked into the hotel and off to watch this VERY SPECIAL girl being rewarded for lots of hard work!

The team with their rings!  I am SO excited to watch them play again REAL soon:)

My Daughter and her Daughter!  What a wonderful time we had together!  I love these two SO much and happy that we got to share this time!

The RING!  Lots of BLING!

Autumn and Seth!  He was there with us, watching his girl getting her ring!  We all had dinner after the ceremony, Seth is crazy about Autumn and the feeling is mutual:)

Ganky, Pa and Autumn!  We have been there for thousands of games and there to celebrate the World Series Ring Ceremony!  No place we would rather be:)

Sweet memories made!  I can't wait to get this season started!  Have a blessed day dear friends!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A new knee...

This picture is my Brother Leon and me!  Not a recent picture but one of my favorites:)  He had a MUCH needed knee replacement surgery yesterday!  I waited with the family during the surgery and the doctor said it went great!  He was cracking jokes after the surgery, in pain but still making me laugh:)  I enjoyed visiting with Becky, Tammy and David!  I pray that Leon had a good night and that today will be the first day toward complete healing and a pain-free knee!
I love you Leon!

Not much going on this morning and that's OK with me!  After being gone all day yesterday, traffic, rude drivers and lanes that are much too small... sitting in my chair suits me just fine:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, stay safe!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

#11 and 77...

#11, our Avery (on the left) played hard and made us all smile!

The team!  They played each other and entertained the crowd:)  They have improved SO much since that first game and now it is almost over for this season!

Happy 77th Birthday to my Brother-in-law Jerry!  He and my sister Barbara married when I was in the first grade, that's a long time ago:)  He has come to my rescue more times than I can count!  I love you Jerry, AKA Poppy and hope you have a wonderfully peaceful birthday!

My Brother Leon is having knee replacement surgery tomorrow and I would appreciate you saying a prayer for him!  Thanks:)  Off to Church this morning and football this afternoon:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

He's back...

To say I was surprised last night doesn't quite explain it!  This picture on the left was when my Grandson Austin broke his leg in November, on the right LAST NIGHT as he played his first basketball game!  Tears were in my eyes, proud of his hard work and determination, worried that he might hurt it again!  He WAS happy and played really hard!

That's him, my high-flying Grandson!

Introducing the starters...

He scores...

It was Senior night!  Tracy, Derek and their ONLY Son!

He gave his Mama this rose!  What a sweet night!

As my head hit the pillow last night, I thanked God for the many blessings in my life including Austin's comeback!  Have a blessed day dear friends, it is a rainy/stormy morning here!  Austin and Avery have games this afternoon!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Watching and praying...

Oh it was beautiful, the music, the fireworks and OH DEAR there were tears in my eyes and pride in my heart!  I know that lots of my friends are not Donald Trump fans, but the traditions of the peaceful transfer of power should put pride in all of our hearts!

OUR first family at the Lincoln Memorial!  Great picture!

I watched as everyone waited for this moment, I watched and felt chills as this happened!

SO, I will be glued to the TV today as we get a new President!  I promise to pray for Donald Trump every single day!  I feel that he will be a great President and I will be watching as he lays his hand on the Bible to take the Oath of Office!  I hope that you all have a truly blessed day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Comments turned off today:)

Ruffly blooms...

Yesterday... I stayed in ALL day, laundry and more clutter control!  Still working on that:)  I got out late in the day to get the mail and paper!  This camellia bush/tree always surprises me with it's beautiful ruffly blooms!  I received this on my 50th birthday from a co-worker and carpool buddy Hugh Daniel!  I loved it then and love it to this day!  I think I will go out this morning and gather some blooms for my kitchen table!

What's on the agenda for today?  Not much!  Getting started with my cup of coffee and some GMA:)  SO loving this weather but I feel like we will get some cold weather before Spring!  Have a blessed day today, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Talking on the phone...

In these times, we send a text more than we actually talk on the phone!  There is ONE person that I talk to EVERY day, my Sister Barbara!  Most days before noon, I call her... we talk for a short time or a long time, but we talk EVERY day!  She looks forward to our chat as much as I do!  Is there someone you talk to every day?

We have lots of exciting events coming up:)  Austin's Senior night for basketball, Autumn's first game is on the calendar and she is receiving her World Series Ring next week!  My Great-Niece is getting married in March and Austin is graduating in May!  So many things that I look forward to enjoying!  Today, not much going on...  ya know what?  That's just fine with me!  One thing I know that I will do for sure, call my Sister Barbara:)  I love you Sis!

Have a blessed day dear friends, call someone you love!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A walk down memory lane...

SO... yesterday, I started working on Austin's scrapbook for graduation!  He will graduate High School in May and like Autumn, he will receive a scrapbook:)  While pulling pictures, stickers and quotes... I ran across this polaroid picture of my Mama and Daddy!  A little blurred but it really made me smile to see them, happy and healthy!

Another sweet pic... My Daughter Tracy riding her bike in Mama and Daddy's front yard!  Happy little girl, smiling and probably giggling!  I love this picture!  That little VW bug in the background took me many miles every day to provide for this little cutie:)  Oh the memories...

Tracy sent me this picture of Avery practicing basketball in their backyard yesterday:)  I snapped this screenshot and yes she made the basket:)

Dinner was cooking and the memories were still swirling around in my mind and heart!  When I cook this, I always think about my Mama!  The smell of the potatoes and onions cooking... YUM!  I can close my eyes and almost see my Mama standing at the stove cooking this very dish!

This sky was gorgeous last night, I slipped my shoes on and made my way a little closer to the woods to get a picture!  LOVE the night sky lately:)

Dentist appointment this morning, gotta get moving!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

My Sunday...

My Sunday started out at my little country Church!  My Nephew Justin plays the guitar and put it down to do a little preaching!  I am SO proud of this young man and the life he lives!

He asked a little girl in the congregation to sing "Mercy walked in"  It was AWESOME to hear that little voice sing that great song!  The rest of my day was FOOTBALL!  I watched them ALL but fell asleep on the late game!  Now Green Bay will be coming to Atlanta to play our Falcons!  I look forward to next weekend, more football... but not many more games!

Enjoy your day dear friends, BIG HUGS and PRAYERS coming your way!

Games on a warm ATL day...

It was another gorgeously warm day in the ATL!  I visited my Nephew Bubba in Rehab, grocery shopped, ran into an old friend and headed out to watch our Avery #11 play basketball!  This team has improved SO much since the start of the season!  We nibbled on popcorn and enjoyed visiting with the family watching the game!

Another game was going on, the Falcons were playing!  We watched some in the Concession area, listened on the way home and finished watching THE WIN!  This team has really played their hearts out and thankfully are moving on in the playoffs!

Christmas in January...

Up early, sleigh loaded with gifts and on the road!

There wasn't a tree to put the gifts under... no problem, Madison made one out of paper:)  How precious is that!

Little smiles waiting to open their gifts from Aunt Tracy and family:)  Makenzie, Maverick, Maybree and Madison... They are thinking, Hurry up Ganky, take the picture so we can open our presents!

Dinner being prepared:)  These two washing the veggies, huge help to their Mama:)  Dinner was delicious, lots of love around the table!

Maverick doing some bubble blowing the next morning IN his NEW jammies from Ganky and Pa!

Nine months ago, this little one joined the family!  She is my Son-in-law's great niece and needed some TLC for a while!  She is still with them and is loved by ALL!  Makenzie Marie shown here wearing one of her gifts from Ganky and Pa and YES she calls us that too:)  I am not sure what the future holds for this little cutie-pie but we will love her like our own as long as we can!

We are waking up in our comfy home this morning, sipping hot coffee and planning our day!  Lots of football this weekend and Avery has a basketball game this afternoon!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Cheater pot pie and the night sky...

On a cold day, what is better than a warm chicken-pot-pie:)  I had worked on putting away my nutcrackers and needed a quicker version of the tasty pie!  I used this recipe only changing a few things but it was DE-LICIOUS!  We ate every single bite!  If you need a quick and VERY simple recipe, try this one!  Click on the picture to get the recipe:)

While sitting at the table eating dinner, the blinds were still open and the sky was calling for me to snap a picture:)  This was my view!

Each day, I think "what can I accomplish today"?  So far this year, it's working to make me find at least ONE thing or more to get done!  It is keeping me motivated to get my house clean and clear of clutter!  I have some errands to run today and some groceries to buy, but I will still get something done!  Not sure what that will be yet but there is plenty to do!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Adorable...

I sat on the pew behind this little guy yesterday!  This is my Sister Cindy's Grandson Connor!  He is adorable, and I snapped this picture of him watching one of our Church members
as he prayed!

Cindy's family gathered after Church for a photo shoot!  Her entire family!  Love them all and SO thankful that I got to see them this weekend!

It's cold now but warming up later this week, coffee is hot and GMA is on the TV!  Today I will pack up the Nutcrackers until next Christmas, I sure have enjoyed them guarding the staircase:)  Staying in and staying warm!  Hope you all have a blessed day, sending HUGS and
PRAYERS your way!
