Back in business...

It's the last day of June, the year is half over... WHAT?  Yes, it's true!  My day yesterday started out getting my hair beautified:)  It feels good to get a fresh hair-do!  The last half of the day was spent doing some work on the pool, too long to describe... but it is all fixed now:)  AND our new washing machine was delivered while I was cooking dinner!  It is pretty basic, fresh white in color and it works which is more than I can say for the other one!  What would we do without some of the things that make our lives a little easier, I don't wanna find out!  SO... we are back in business and my laundry is backed up!  

The rainy weather is back with us with a little sunshine in between rain showers!  Enjoying the "the in between" when we have it!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!  

The memories are many...

We had a wonderful lunch with Billy and Patty yesterday!  We chatted away the time, talked about everything!  All of us enjoyed it SO much and said let's do it again soon:)  Marc and Billy both graduated from Georgia Tech, worked together at BellSouth and spent months down in Gulfport MS working after Katrina hit!  The memories they have are many...

Of Course... we stopped for a picture!  I have many pictures of the four of us!  Patty and I traveled together to Gulfport to visit the fellas when they were working down there!  LOVE these friends and pray for them both as they walk thru the days ahead of them!

Still sipping my morning coffee!  My washing machine croaked, new one being delivered later today:)  We'll be back in business!  Enjoy your day dear friends!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Lunch with old friends...

Old friends and forever friends!  We are having lunch with these two today!  Billy worked for Marc for MANY years and we have remained friends after retirement!  We meet occasionally for lunch to get caught up with what the other has been up to!  Billy is being treated for memory issues and I am praying for both him and Patty!

The good 'ole Summertime

While we were eating dinner last night, Marc said "the days are getting shorter"!  WHAT?  Yes, Summer is upon us... the longest day of the year has passed and now the days will start getting shorter!  It won't be noticeable for a while yet and SO... I would rather not think about it:)  BUT, the good 'ole Summertime is upon us!  Our Beach Vacation is a little later than usual this year and honestly, that is OK with me!  I am looking forward to waking up on the beach, taking a walk in the sand, watching everyone having fun... YES, I'll be ready when the time comes:)

Happy Birthday to my Son-in-law Derek!  He has truly been a blessing to me and Marc!  He is a wonderful Husband to Tracy and the best Dad ever to my precious Grandchildren!  He always welcomes us and looks forward to our Family Vacations as much as we do!  I love you Derek and hope you have the best Birthday ever!

If I could keep him little...

This is from the book "If I could keep you little"!  I gave one to Autumn when she graduated and to Austin when he graduated!  I have already bought one for Alex and Avery!  It is the sweetest little book and one of the pages says this...

Austin was in a car accident Thursday evening AND by the Grace of God... he only has burns on his arms from the airbags!  I was thinking about it this morning, how thankful I am that he and Lexi weren't seriously injured and this book came to mind!  I also thought about when Austin was a TINY fella, he and Autumn were chasing each other thru the house!  He ran into the dry sink in the dining room and had to have stitches!  I remember standing in the room with him while Autumn shed more tears than he did!  Just a memory of my little Grandson, how I could kiss his cuts and scrapes... and the ALL GROWN UP Grandson... SIGH!  Thank you Lord for watching over my Grandchildren!

Final Camp day...

Avery has been at Camp all week at their Church/School!  Yesterday was the last day and I attended the activities!  Singing, dancing and inspiring speeches!

Chick-fil-a WinShape Camps certainly knows how to do it!  After the program, we were all served Chick-fil-a sandwiches, chips, cookie and water!  THOUSANDS of those yummy sandwiches were hot and ready for us to enjoy!

We had our first tomatoes from the garden for dinner last night:)  They were YUMMY!  AND I tried a meatloaf recipe in the crockpot, I have to say it was easy and delicious!  RECIPE HERE

Almost ready...

We are seeing red in our garden:)  I am waiting patiently for just the right time to pick our first tomatoes!  Tommy-toes are turning red, peppers are coming along and we have a teeny-tiny cucumber!  YEAH!  It is small garden but will produce some good veggies to eat!

Enjoy the little things...

A phone call from someone you love, a hug from an old friend, the smell of a rose, the taste of an ice cream cone, the sun shining thru the blinds, the moon high in the sky, getting a card in the mail, the smile of a little child or an elderly person!  These are some of the little things in life I enjoy!  I am gonna take a few days to enjoy the little things in life...

Visit someone you love...

Visited this sweet fella yesterday, he was standing at the door to welcome me and we chatted for hours!  Marshall and June always LOVE to see me coming:)  I grabbed us a Chick-fil-a sandwich and we munched on them as we talked and talked and talked!  It is like therapy to visit them!  And we all need a little therapy now and then!  Don't 'cha love to visit someone who loves to have you and hates to see you leave?  ME TOO:)

He walked me out, I got a tight hug and he said "don't stay gone so long"!  It had been a while since I had been over for a visit, he visited me on my birthday and I cherish each time I see him!  We are getting older and spend lots of time talking about our age-related ailments!  I love my Brothers and Sisters and I am thankful to have LOTS of them!

My advice, visit someone who wants to see you:)  It was a special day for me yesterday and I will visit again soon!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Find something good...

This is SO true!  Every day may not be good, but try to find something good in every day!  I do pretty good with this!  Whether it's a walk outside to cut a bouquet or a phone call with a loved one!  It is important to focus on positive things and thoughts instead of negative:)  There is SO much "meanness" in the World these days, that's what my Mama would call it!  Be safe everyone wherever you go and whatever you do!

Pecking away at it...

I am pecking away at my trouble areas in my house!  Clearing things out and getting clothes piled up that I don't or can't wear anymore!  Still not done, may never finish... but working on it makes me feel better:)  I like the way Maxine suggests we clean house, she makes me laugh:)

My yesterday, oil change, a little birthday shopping for Maverick and a visit from the guy who is gonna pressure wash my house!  I can't wait to get it all sparkly clean!  So... the coffee is hot, the sun is shining thru the blinds and the tomatoes are still green:)  Waiting and watching for a red tomato!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Church, blooms and bugs...

My Sunday started out at Church surrounded by Family!  We sang, we prayed, my heart was full!  I ended the day outside, snapping pictures of these giant blooms!  Aren't they pretty?  I think so:)

This is my attempt at taking a picture of a lightning bug:)  I always remember watching these little specks of light as a child!  After Church in the evening we would sit out under the Oak Tree and catch those bugs!  OHHHHH the memories...

Snack with a memory...

Good Sunday Morning everyone out there:)  It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!  My Saturday was spent going to visitation for a friend of my Mama's!  This lady spent many years battling breast cancer and finally lost that battle.  I was early (as usual) and stopped for a snack!  When I reached for this bag of yumminess, it made me think of my Mama... she loved them too!  As I sat in the car munching on these little p'nuts, I know my Mama was with me as I was headed to visit with her old friend!

#7 is 6 today...

Happy Birthday to our youngest Grandson, our 7th Grandchild!  Today is Maverick's 6th Birthday!  We will be celebrating next weekend and I can't wait!  This little guy had a rough start but that didn't last long!  He is the sweetest little fella, SO smart and ALWAYS smiling!

We love you Mav and can't wait to see you at your party:)  Sounds like it is going to be a load of fun!

Day 2 at Ganky's...

Sleepover at Ganky's Day 2:)  We had another fun day!  AND ended up playing ball in the driveway!  They played ball and took a swim before dinner!  They ALWAYS end up in the driveway playing or riding scooters:)

Yesterday we had lunch at Ruby Tuesday's and off to do a little shopping at Target:)

While we were doing all that, Austin and Lexi were at College Orientation!  Thanks Tracy for the pictures, almost as good as being there:)

We made a quick run to CVS last night for a few things and the moon was GORGEOUS!  It was bright and glowing in the night sky!

Giggles at Ganky's...

Two Granddaughters sleeping over at Ganky and Pa's!  While I was cooking their FAVORITE dinner, they sat out by the pool!  Alex was reading her book and Avery was hanging with her Sister!  

Then... the swimsuits were on and they were having a "Whale of a time"! :)

They swam before dinner and after dinner:)  It was dark and getting close to my bedtime, they were still going strong!

One of the things they always want to do, ride scooters!  Would you look at how they have grown!  Avery was riding the tricycle and Alex scooting!  OH MY!  7 years later!

They are still snoozing, but I will hear the pitter-patter of feet before too long!  They will come down and start looking for breakfast:)  I will be happy to fix whatever they want!  Austin is at College Orientation today with Tracy!  I can't wait to hear all about it!  Enjoy your day, visit your Grandparents... we love it!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
