Sunflowers on a sad day...

I made a trip to freshen the flowers at the cemetery for my Mama's Birthday!  Bright yellow sunflowers and some fall colors!  I sang Happy Birthday as I scurried about making it look pretty!  Visit your Parents...

This is Mrs. Beth, everyone loved her and she was SO good to my Grandchildren!  She was the smile that never quit at their pre-school and they ALL loved her as much as she loved them!  She played the piano, taught lessons to SO many and was just a light in our lives!  I received word yesterday that she had passed away!  Sadness covered my heart:(  I started searching for pictures with her in them!  This was from one of Avery's Christmas plays with ALL FOUR of them!  I will forever remember Mrs. Beth, that sweet smile and her loving way of making us feel welcome!  She was 61 years young... SAD DAY!

It's gonna rain here but nothing like it has in Texas!  My Sister Barbara had her house flooded by the river that ran past their house many years ago.  We all pitched in to help get them back in their house!  Lots of hard work!  Can you imagine ALL OF THE HOUSES that have been flooded in Houston needed to be gutted and rebuilt?  Beyond comprehension...

She would be 92 today...

Today is my Mama's Birthday!  She would be 92!  She left us at the young age of 63~MY AGE!  Celebrating in Heaven, My Mama with my Daddy!  I bet she is cooking up something delicious, perhaps her famous chocolate cake?  Perhaps...

I learned a lot about being a Mama from this sweet Lady!  I hope and pray that she is looking down and proud of her family, how close we all are and how we are watching after her Sister!  I love you ALWAYS and FOREVER!

We celebrated Barbara's birthday yesterday with a luncheon!  What a great time, lots of smiles, chatting, hugs and gifts for such a deserving Sister of mine!  I love you Nan!

The weather was SO nice yesterday and perhaps we have a repeat today!  I will go to the cemetery later to put some bright yellow flowers on Mama and Daddy's grave!  I am being thankful for so much in my life and praying for those affected by the floods in Texas!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Happy 75th Birthday Sis...

Today is my Sister Barbara's 75th Birthday!  I took a walk down memory lane by way of the old book of pictures!  Sweet little girl and just as sweet today!

A full Saturday...

My Sister Cindy and Niece Britani sell Lula Roe clothes!  They are doing really well with it and took their inventory to our Church Fellowship Hall yesterday!  It was a huge success!  Britani and her fiance Spencer sell Paparazzi jewelry and had a great day with that too!  I LOVE this clothing line and the jewelry!  So many cute and comfortable pieces!  If anyone is on Facebook and would like to purchase something from them, HERE is a link to their page!

I visited my Aunt at Rehab, she is doing pretty good and itching to get out of there:)  They originally said she would be there for two weeks, we will see how that goes!  Enjoy your Sunday dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Quick good morning...

Just a quick post this morning to say GOOD MORNING to all my friends and family:)  Gonna run check on my Aunt at Rehab and then to the Church for a LulaRoe show that my Sister Cindy and Niece Britani and doing!  Love these clothes, so comfy and CA-UTE:)  Also... while eating dinner last night Marc and I started talking about planning an Alaskan Cruise for next year!  My Niece Kelly is on one now and the scenes are just beautiful!  Here is one of the pictures she posted on Facebook!   Hmmmmm, something to look forward to:)

A scary sight...

This is a scary sight!  I have been watching the weather reports and warnings issued for Texas!  It is SO scary to see that big blob headed toward the coast!  Evacuation is a must!  
Stay safe down there!

It's OK with me...

This isn't an exciting post or groundbreaking news, but since my blog is my journal... I am going to talk about my day:)  Most days I get out of the house to run errands or grab a few things at the grocery store!  Not yesterday, I stayed in all day and accomplished SO much!  I plan on doing a repeat today:)  I ordered some tickets on-line and I have to sign for them, SO I have no choice but to stay home!  It's OK with me! 

My Aunt is FINALLY in Rehab!  She was in the hospital for two weeks after having a stroke!  I hope that she is happy in her new place and that she will be back to her feisty self soon!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way! 

Those were the days...

This quote reminded me of my childhood, in the Summer we would have a whole bunch of people gathered around the old oak tree... doing nothing:)  Those were the days my friend, the days were filled with lots of time to do anything or nothing!  I long for simpler times, when time didn't go by so fast... Those were the days:)

A day full of smiles...

What a wonderful day!  I took my Eclipse Glasses and headed out to spend the day with my Daughter!  We ALWAYS have the best time together!  I managed to get this picture with my iPhone over my shoulder and I thought it was beautiful:)

We took turns with the glasses, looking up at the sun while snapping each other's picture!  This event was much more special because I shared it with my girl!

Tracy watched a tutorial on how to view the Eclipse without glasses!  Great job on the viewer and it worked too!

Alex and Avery's school had an eclipse viewing party and their annual carnival afterward!  Moon pies were served along with lots of other treats:)

Enjoy the little things...

I am having withdrawals from the Grandkid's sports!  Last year we were traveling to watch Autumn play softball, Austin football, basketball and track, Alex track and Avery basketball.  It won't be long until we will fill our schedule with things for Alex and Avery again!  TBH... I can't wait!  Until then...

I woke up yesterday morning, looked in the mirror and sent my hairdresser a message... HELP!  She asked if I could be there at NOON?  YES I could and I scurried over to get the gray covered up!  Feels much better this morning!  Thanks Rebekah for helping me look better today than I did yesterday:)

August 20, 1973 Suzanne (the tiny one in the picture) was born to my Brother Marshall and Sister-in-law June!  Today is her Birthday and I would like to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZANNE"!  I love you and hope you smile ALL day long!

She believed she could...

Each visit with my Aunt makes me see how strong and determined she is!  She constantly talks about how she will do whatever it takes to get up and at 'em:)  I believe that she WILL do just that!  They are waiting on a call from the Rehab facility to get her started on acute therapy!  I am excited for my sweet Aunt!

I will have glasses on Monday...

SO... after placing an order, getting the order canceled due to high demand, walking my legs off, making MANY calls and trying to order more... A friend that I went to school with had three extra pair of Eclipse glasses, posted on Facebook to sell them and I was FIRST to say SOLD!  I am SUPER excited to snag these glasses:)  Marc said "persistence pays off" and it sure did:)  After Church Sunday, I will meet her and pick them up!  YEAH!

There won't be another total Solar Eclipse until I am 90!  I will be optimistic and save my glasses:)  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Memories and a sweet message...

Not much to talk about this morning!  I went to the hospital yesterday to visit my Aunt!  She continues to improve but is fidgety to get up and back at her normal routine!  She will be going to rehab soon and I know she will be working hard to get out of there as soon as possible:)  She reminds me SO much of my Mama!  My Mama had a stroke too but at a much younger age when she was 60 or so!  I remember how hard she worked to get back to her normal routine and her baby sister will do the same!

When I returned home, my dinner was smelling YUM and YUM it was!  Pork roast in the crock pot with tomato sauce and Italian  seasoning!  It cooked ALL day and my goodness was it DELICIOUS!  I boiled fresh corn and once again was thinking about my Mama:)  She used to boil a bowl full of fresh corn from the garden and that would be ALL I ate!  I thought about her while I was slathering my corn with butter and remembering those days!  Sweet memories, how they linger!

This morning when I woke up and unplugged my phone, this is what I saw!  My Sweet Grandson sent me a picture after I had gone to bed...  He was thinking of me and how I always bought these for him!  Isn't it the little things that tug at your heart?  Yep, me too!

Today is just getting started and I will try to stay cool!  Looks like it is going to be another scorcher!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

No glasses...

The Eclipse is Monday...

What do we do if the glasses we ordered don't make it in time?  OH NO!  Well, when the glasses became available... I ordered lots of them!  I ordered some for us, for Tracy and family with some left over!  They haven't arrived AND I haven't gotten a notice that they have been shipped!  I am getting a little anxious about it!  I mean what do you do with 10 pair of glasses after the Eclipse is over?  Save them until 2045?  Well, at 9:00 AM I will be on the phone asking if they are gonna make it in time:(  If not?  I will order some more, pay a lot more $$ for them but I can't miss this event!  Marc says that it might be cloudy and we won't be able to see anything anyway... I am more of an optimist and think that the sky will be clear and it will be amazing!

Where's Austin and a visiting day...

Where's Austin?  I have zoomed in and can't find him:(  I hope he had a great first day of his freshman year!  Can't wait to hear all about it!

My Aunt is improving, thanks for the prayers!  She continues to have tests run to see if there are any more clots and waiting on the results of the MRI and Electrocardiogram!  She does lots of work with her Church and the local food bank!  I stayed a long time yesterday, she had TONS of visitors and they kept coming even as I was leaving!

After leaving the hospital, I grabbed some Chick-fil-a sandwiches and went for a visit with my Brother Marshall and Sister-in-law June!  We spent the afternoon talking about just about everything!  He was feeling better and for that I am SO thankful!  Thank you for continued prayers!

Prayers and excitement...

My Sunday was spent doing lots of praying!  My Aunt Mattie Lou "FooFoo" had a stroke and was transported via ambulance to the Hospital!  She is doing better, regaining her feeling and hopefully will be back to her spunky self really soon, prayers appreciated!  I spent the afternoon with her and she is determined to get back up on her feet, she said "I have to"!  Love her SO much!  This picture was taken recently at her 84th Birthday lunch!

We had a great Church service yesterday morning!  Justin announced that he and his wife Kimberly were expecting their 1st child!  I would appreciate your prayers for them!  She has had lots of health issues over her young life!  What a blessing this news was to ALL of us!  I pulled this picture from their engagement pictures because it is one of my favorites:)

Monday morning, my coffee is hot and the news on TV is never worth watching but I watch it anyway!  I will head over later this morning to the hospital to check on my Aunt and visit my Brother Marshall after that!  He hasn't been feeling too chipper lately and I need to make him smile!  Prayers appreciated for all of these loved ones of mine!

All moved in and the boat...

ALL moved in!  I hope that Austin slept good in his comfy bed last night, busy days ahead for him!  I promised to pray for him every day and I will!  Tracy and Derek moved him in and went down to Savannah for the night!  Well deserved for two of the best Parents on this Earth!  I hope they slept well!  Tracy sent me a variety of pictures yesterday to help me feel like I was there:)  She knows how much I love sunsets and sent me pictures to make me smile!  The bottom right picture pokes a big hole in my heart!

SO... both of these little ones are in College, one a Freshman and one a Senior!  Both close to this boat!  They will remember how much these pictures mean to me and while they won't want to... they WILL climb in that boat FOR ME:)

We gathered 'round the table one more time with Austin before he leaves for College!  He enjoyed ALL of the special food that Tracy and I prepared!

The sky was full of clouds on our ride home, but the sunset was peeking thru just above the tree line!  Like it was saying "there is light among the sad feelings I was having"!

Together we got it done...

Austin was trying to keep us from taking his picture, he dashed off with his new laptop and TV!  Tracy said it reminded her of when he was a little boy with new shoes on:)  He would run around and tell her that his new shoes made him run faster:)  LOVE the MEMORIES!
