Find something to smile about...

I attended a funeral yesterday for my Nephew David's fiance, she was only 50 years old.  This poem was on the pamphlet as well as the picture at the bottom.  I didn't know her, had only met her once, but the Preacher told all about her!  She obviously was a wonderful person who impacted so many lives in her short time here on earth.

I sat on the pew with David, his Daughters and my Brother and Sister-in-law.  Sad times bring family closer...  I love you David and will be praying for you as you start your life without your Pam:(

It's Sunday, I am staying in from Church and preparing to visit my Granddaughter and family:)  That's a happy ending to this sad post!  Not every day is full of roses and sunshine, but we can still find something to smile about.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Perfect quotes and little B...

This is one of the plaques added to Tracy and family's new house:)  I love what this says...

AND this one was perfect, color, texture and "Love Lives Here" suits their new home:)

Here is little Brooklyn all dressed up and waiting on her Mimi (Tracy) to arrive for a weekend visit!  Patiently waiting on my "Good Morning Ganky" picture:)

Saturday morning, the sun is shining and my coffee is tasting really good:)  I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

What do you mean...

I went to my bank and attempted to go thru the drive-thru to cash a check.  There wasn't anyone in the window and the blinds were down.  I drive around, park and walk in to find out that they were in the process of closing the drive-thru permanently.  WHAT?  I let them know that this wasn't making me happy because I don't want to go inside.  I do most of my banking on-line and seriously only use the branch to cash a check now and then.  CH-CH-Change, not my favorite thing!

What in the world is happening?  At Target this week, there were ZERO lines open except for the return line and the self-checkout lines.  At Kroger they have increased the number of self-checkout stations and only have a few actual lines with a human.  I don't like this.  I like to put my purchases on the belt and someone else scan them/bag them.  I don't want to do it myself.  I don't want to look up cabbage or bananas to see what the number is!  It's the new "do it yourself" way of life I guess!  Rant over:)

Have a blessed day dear friends, heading to see my Daughter and Grandkids this morning!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

At the edge of the woods...

I walked up to get the mail after dinner and noticed these yellow blooms at the edge of the woods.  Wildflowers, so pretty and bright yellow!  It was a nice reward for the long walk up the driveway:)

See how they look from a distance!  I am so happy that I saw them and zoomed in to get a picture of their bright yellow petals!

Hair appt today, WAY overdue and really wanted to go yesterday!  She usually can take me anytime but was too busy yesterday!  Off to finish my coffee and get my day going!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A crunchy snack and cuties...

After I cast my vote yesterday morning, the grocery store was my next stop.  Don't go shopping hungry "they say"!  Well I was hungry and I went anyway:)  I saw these on the cookie aisle and they jumped in my cart:)  It is a crunchy snack, low fat and last a long time!  SO, after my ham/turkey sandwich... yes I enjoyed a handful of these yummy creatures:)  Sometimes we just need to reward ourselves for something:)

Tracy sent me this picture last night.  The girls in their new uniforms, I can't wait to sit in the stands and watch them play.  I know that it will make this Ganky MIGHTY happy to cheer them on.

My Good Morning photo of little Brooklyn yesterday, well it was too cute NOT to share:)  Thanks Autumn!

Enjoy your day dear friends, I am gonna try to get my hair done today!  Not much else on my agenda:)  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

This little cutie is two weeks old:)  Autumn sends me a picture every morning and I am thankful to be able to see what Brooklyn is up to!  I need to hold her again REALLY soon!  Thank you Autumn for sending the pictures!

Gotta get moving!  I didn't do early voting, so I have to go to the polling location near my house!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

The Memory of our Lives...

I LOVE taking pictures, it is my way of saving memories:)  Most of my pictures are now taken with my phone and thankfully it is always with me.  The quality is pretty darn good these days.

Saturday I loaded pictures to print.  I still love to have one to hold in my hand and put in an album.  After Church yesterday, I picked them up... 192 precious photos.

This little girl, my FIRST Great-Granddaughter, is precious:)  While she is 5 hours away, I have lots of pictures to look at to remember her birth!  Can't wait to get my hands on her again!

SO... I will sit with my pictures this morning and pick a few out to put in frames!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Till the storm passes over...

It has been a stormy few days here!  When it is storming, I sing this song and sing it over and over:)  It gets stuck in my head.  It looks like this morning is storm free, we will see how the day goes!

Till the storm passes over,
Till the thunder sounds no more
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky
Hold me fast,
let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand
Keep me safe till the storm passes by

I carry my umbrella in my purse, just in case:)

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!!

Hard work and laughter...

Sometimes you just have to laugh!  Tracy and I worked at their old house yesterday moving more things to the new house!  Who is this riding shotgun?  Gilbert the turkey:)  I was assigned the task of driving Gilbert to the new house!  The looks I got on the ride over were priceless:)  He was a well behaved passenger:)

Stormy morning here where we are!  Good thing I have nothing on my agenda for today, I'll just stay in and hopefully get some things done around the house!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Summer diet...

This looks like a diet I could stay with:)  It was a really hot day yesterday, I stayed in and got some chores done around the house.  I usually eat frozen yogurt but decided to treat myself to a cup of yumminess for my Summer Diet (wink wink)...

I ate just one tiny cup of dutch chocolate ice cream and it hit the spot:)  Sometimes we need a little something to reward our hard work:)

Have a blessed day dear friend, have some ice cream... you deserve it!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

One year ago look back...

One year ago today, I posted about our lunch to celebrate my Aunt's birthday... She was perfectly healthy and 3 months later she passed away.  I miss her!

We met at the local pizza place and sat for hours, it was a wonderful time together!  My Aunt Mattie Lou aka "Foo Foo" smiled the entire time!  My Mama would be so proud of us for showering her Baby Sister with love and gifts for her Birthday!

Of course, I had my picture made with the Birthday Girl... 84 years young!

This post is a reminder that we aren't promised another day!  Be thankful for today and love like it's your last!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Clutter-clearing and my daily pics...

It was a clutter-clearing kinda day yesterday and it felt SO good.  Not much more to report.  I tried to stay on the move and get some things done.  We settled in after dinner for the All-Star game.  FOUR Atlanta Braves were on the team.  The human flag was beautiful and 29 Medal of Honor recipients were there.  It was touching to see SO many of them honored.

I wait patiently (wink) for my daily Brooklyn fix:)  Autumn has done a great job sending pictures, Brooklyn sleeping, fresh after bath and in her swaddle.  Autumn was gifted this swaddle at her shower along with a robe to match:)  She said she lives in the robe:)  As I sit here with my coffee, I will receive a "good morning" picture shortly... I wait patiently:)

It's HOT and HUMID here, what else is new!  It's our way of life in the South.  Try to stay cool...  I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

I will be grateful for this day...

I will be grateful for this day... I love this and may frame it:)  Whatever this day holds, I promise to be grateful!

These are some tomatoes grown by my Niece Britani, they were SO yummy and I know my Daddy is proud of her for her gardening skills:)

I spent the day with my Daughter and Grandkids yesterday!  After a short stop for their favorite donuts, the rest of the day was spent in this house.  I love it, custom built and perfect!  We worked in Tracy's Hobby Room.  It is nice to organize a room when there are plenty cabinets to store items in.  Each day that I spend with this family is a blessing, HUGS galore and lots of smiles:)

This is Avery's room!  I snapped a picture while looking for her to tell her goodbye:)

Home for dinner, roast in the crock-pot and sliced tomatoes.  THEN?  The home-run derby.  Our Freddie Freeman was one of the participants.  He didn't win but did a great job.  Tonight is the ALL-Star game and there are 4 Atlanta Braves playing.

That's a good bit of chit-chat this morning:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Just can't help but smile...

When I look at this picture, I smile:)  Autumn is doing a great job, taking care of this little cutie and sending pictures daily!  Today... she is ONE week old!  At 7:52AM.  Happy ONE WEEK Miss Brooklyn, Pa and I love you SO much!

What else makes me smile, a big 'ole bowl of cold watermelon!  What a delicious snack!  Sometimes you get a really good one, this one IS SO yummy!

My Great-Nephew Waylon!  Justin and Kimberly's little (not so little) boy!  Britani was holding him at Church and I snapped this picture!  I held him too and he is getting really big:)  Love you Waylon!

Tracy sent me this picture of Avery and her friend riding their hover boards.  They are enjoying their new home:)  Love the views!

That's it for my Monday morning!  It is peaceful here where I am, I pray the same for you!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Blooms and a change...

I never left the house yesterday and it was nice:)  There were a few blooms left on the hydrangea bushes, now they are on my kitchen table!  Tracy gave me a gardenia for my B'day in this bucket, now I am reusing it:)

A small change made a big difference.  Just a rotation of my oval kitchen table gave us more eating area.  Me, who doesn't like change, loved eating dinner with the new arrangement:)

I will leave you with this!  Sending a little love your way!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Just a blah day...

My Friday was kinda blah, but I'll be thankful for that too:)  I knocked out my grocery shopping, chatted with some people while shopping and home to put the groceries up.  Isn't it a job?  Some people are using the grocery pick-up option, perhaps I should give that a try!

Today is beautiful, at least it is this morning.  I don't know what the day holds, but I know who holds the day!  Thank you Autumn for my smile this morning!

Home should be an anchor...

I found this quote and it suited how I feel!  I enjoyed being home yesterday.  It is always nice to come home, even though there was laundry to be done and suitcases to unpack.  It was nice to sit in my favorite chair, catch up on some blogs and watch some shows on TV.  I didn't get it all done, but there is today:)  The cupboards are a little bare and dinner was made from what we had.  Hmmmmm, chili cornbread pie, pasta salad and sliced tomatoes.  Perfect:)  There is a grocery shopping trip in my plans for today.

Brooklyn is headed for a check-up this morning, can't wait to hear what they say about our little angel.  Autumn is doing a great job sending pictures, next best thing to being there:)

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

There are a lot of pictures that touched my heart throughout this birth, this was one that Autumn took.  Tracy and I, waiting thru the night for little Brooklyn to decide it was time to arrive!  We had a long night and grabbed a nap when we could.  Thank you Autumn for sharing this, SO sweet!
