Ignoring the paperwork...

I'll be turning 65 in May. I have about this much paperwork to go thru, not quite this much🙂  LOTS of reading about changes in insurance with Medicare.  Well... it isn't something I am looking forward to.  I received yet another mailbox full of booklets yesterday and the procrastinator in me is letting the piles get higher.  Perhaps today I will dig in with my highlighter and get started... notice I said perhaps:)

Update on that huge bill I received.  My Doctor called yesterday to tell me they were working on it.  He said DO NOT pay that bill:)  He told me that HE would pay it before I had to pay it.  I love him:)

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A little progress each day...

This message is my encouragement to myself today:)  I am going to make progress today, yes I am.  SO... to get started, I am gonna get moving.  I never made it to the grocery store yesterday, I have an order to pick up at Target, something to return and a trip to the bank is needed.  Yes, I have made a list and checked it twice:)  After more than a week stuck inside, I am getting out in the 24 degree weather... BRRRRR!  Can you say "cabin fever"?

Snowflake or NO-flake...

The threat of a snowflake shuts us down in the South:)  We haven't seen a single flake here where we are and don't really expect to.  BUT... lots of Schools and businesses shut down with just the threat of snow.  Back in the day... I remember driving in really bad weather to get to work because we had to.  Times have changed.  I need to run to the grocery store for a few items.  Chili or soup sounds good:)

Stay safe where you are.  If it's icy, stay inside.  I am planning on doing a mad dash to the grocery store and getting back in!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Binge watching FMF...

How many episodes can you watch in one day?  I am not sure but this is what I did ALL day yesterday.  I couldn't stop watching it and didn't really feel like doing much of anything else.  It  makes me wanna go "Flea Market" shopping and paint something:)  Can't watch today, I gotta get moving.

I pulled out some of my cute muffin papers and made some warm honey bran muffins, YUM and CUTE:)

AND speaking of cute?  This little Great-granddaughter of mine gives me smiles daily:)  Autumn sends me random pictures and I am SO thankful that she shares her baby girl with her Ganky!

SO, it's a new day, a new week with snow possibly in the forecast.  It may or may not make it to us.  I hope you all are having a warm and toasty morning!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Life is short, eat more pizza...

I haven't been out of the house all week with the sinus crud and though I am feeling better, still not 100%.  Last night I asked my Granddaughter Autumn "What's for dinner":)  She had cooked chicken and rice, it looked yummy.  She asked me what we were having... hmmmm I said "I have chicken that I could cook, I have fish also... AND I have money, I could order pizza":)  She said "order pizza" and so I did!  It came on time, was nice and hot and OH SO yummy!  Life is short, eat more pizza...

I have missed Church a lot recently and really wanted to go today.  BUT... I am still needing a couple more days inside I think.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A recipe to share...

I am not the best cook as others in my family BUT... I can follow a recipe:)  During Christmas we had dinner at Olive Garden and I had a dish that was super delicious.  I searched out recipes on-line to see if I could make it at home.  This came pretty darn close.  I used angel hair pasta and added chicken.  IT was SO yummy.  I always ask Marc to let me know if a new recipe is something he would like again and he said it was.  I agreed.  Here it is in case you would like to give it a try.

Cold day here, still fighting the sinus junk.  Stay warm dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Keeping it real...

I try to keep my blog mostly positive and almost just didn't post today:)  My day yesterday started out with that early door bell ringing, not once but several times.  The pest control guy showed up without calling the day before and yes I will let them know.  (called PEST for a reason)

The rest of my day went downhill from there.  I spent hours trying to resolve a bill that I received for my recent physical which isn't supposed to cost anything.  It wasn't a small bill but $777.18 to be exact.  I thought, this can't be right and after much time on the phone, a somewhat "not so nice" note to my doctor and a VERY helpful lady at the insurance company... it is ALMOST resolved.  I still have a couple calls later today and hopefully it will be paid.  The only reason I am sharing this is to say... some days are just not perfect.  But, I made the best I could out of the rest of my day, I cooked a yummy dinner... pork tenderloin, divine asparagus and scalloped potatoes.  We watched the Masked Singer, Autumn got us hooked on that show while we visited last week.  AND then the rain came as I was heading into "sleepy-town".  THE HARDEST rain I have ever heard.  I somehow fell asleep and woke up to what HOPEFULLY will be a better day!  My sinuses are acting up as they do occasionally, I'll be staying in and taking medicine.

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Sleepy with coffee...

This looks like me this morning:)  I woke up several times during the night and then slept in when I finally went back to sleep.  Doorbell rings twice while I am still sitting here in my nightgown, UGH... termite and pest control guy.  TOO EARLY, WAY TOO EARLY.

I am gonna shuffle back over to get another cup of coffee:)  Hope you all have a beautiful day, I am gonna certainly try!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Happy 79th birthday...

Happy 79th Birthday to my Brother-in-law Jerry (AKA Poppy).  These pictures were from 9 years ago but still some of my favorites:)  Jerry loves to play golf but due to health reasons hasn't been able to play lately.  This was his cake from his surprise party in 2010.

Jerry has done so much for me over the years and still takes care of our home while we travel.  He is SO good to my Sister Barbara and I am thankful for him!

I love this old picture because these little kids are gathered around singing "Happy Birthday" to Poppy.  Not so little kids now.  All are 9 years older:(  Happy Birthday Jerry, love you bunches and hope you have a great day!

It's still cold here this morning, not quite as cold as yesterday.  Yesterday was a soup and cornbread kinda day!  I pulled several new recipes and bought all of the ingredients... perhaps I will give one of them a try today!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Baby it's cold outside...

Baby it's cold outside, BRRRR!  I won't be sticking my nose out until later today when I have to get some groceries.  At least there isn't anything falling from the sky:)  For that, I'll be thankful!

I visited my Sister-in-law June and Brother Marshall yesterday.  June is doing GREAT!  She is one tough cookie and I was pleasantly surprised at how good she is doing after her surgery.  I took lunch and we had a great time chatting the afternoon away.

What about the football games, did your teams win?  Well, both games were really exciting all the way thru OT.  The Super Bowl is in our city and I hope we welcome everyone and are good hosts.

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Three daughters and their Mama...

June is recovering nicely in the comfort of her own home!  I know that she is SO thankful for her three daughters, I know I am thankful that they are taking extra good care of their Mama.  ALL three are chipping in doing various duties to make sure their Mama is getting the care she needs.  I can't wait to visit and see these sweet smiles.  Praying for each day to get a little better than the day before!  Thank you, Kelly, Crystal and Suzanne for all you do!

Well, the rain is gone and now the wind and cold is upon us!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Back home, again...

Home for one night and off to stay with these two cuties for the night!  I call this picture "girls night out”:)

Derek was out of town and Tracy went to spend a few days with Autumn and Brooklyn!  I know FIRST HAND how much fun it is to be there with them!

Question, eat in or eat out?  Eat out won and here we are at their favorite place for dinner.  It took three pictures to get this one:)  Love these girls, I enjoyed hearing about school, their teachers and boys:)  We made a visit to Walmart before heading back home.

I woke up after a good night's sleep and made a pot of coffee.  It was a foggy, rainy morning and drinking coffee from Tracy's special cup suited me perfectly.  This side, the family...

This side, how I feel (2019 too)...

This side, Brooklyn and all of us...  I gave Tracy this cup for her birthday and I enjoyed sipping my coffee while looking at the pictures!

Look who sat with me while the rain was pouring down.  Frankie and Munson.  Great dogs, so sweet and even though you can't tell it from their expressions... they love me:)

My Sister-in-law June is home, really sore but doing well per her Daughters.  I am thankful for June's strength, I am thankful for your prayers and will keep praying for complete healing.  When she is up to visitors, that's what I will do... visit.

Have a blessed day dear friends, hopefully I will be getting back to my routine.  Routine is my favorite:)  HUGS!

A week full of smiles...

I have been spending some time with my Granddaughter Autumn and Great-Granddaughter Brooklyn!  Marc and I drove there on Monday and came back today.  IT was wonderful to see them first thing in the mornings, all day long and sit with our jammies on at night.  We had our morning coffee together, played in the floor, did some shopping and ate dinner out.  It was a week to remember:)  I have some catching up to do but it was nice to just unplug for the week!

My Sister-in-law June is having her surgery tomorrow morning and I cherish your prayers.  She is and always has been an Angel on this Earth.  I love her like a Sister and will pray hard for her thru the surgery and recovery.

Have a blessed rest of the week, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Taking a look back... this week a year ago:)  We had snow!  It was a good bit for us and I remember these days of the pretty white stuff!  A little snow is ok, right?

I have a busy week ahead and will check in when I can!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Great football, yummy dinner...

Great football and a yummy dinner!  These aren't as pretty as shown in the recipe but were DELICIOUS!  Here is the link to the recipe if you wanna give them a try.  (surprise, the shells are baked cheese)  We enjoyed them so much and I printed the recipe for my file.  I also made the Divine Asparagus earlier this week but forgot to take a picture.  HERE is the link to those, we ate every crumb:)

More Football today and rain/fog outside.  Have yourself a blessed day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Update on Waylon and praying for June...

Waylon is better and got to go home last night!  Thank you for praying, he has 10 days of antibiotics to take but seems so much better.  Another prayer request for my Sister-in-law June.  She is having surgery soon for breast cancer that was found recently.  I pray that she will be a rock star thru it all and get rid of that cancer just like she did before.  Thank you in advance for whispering her name when you pray!  This is a picture on my shelf and the praying hands sit right there as it always has.  My Brother Marshall and his precious wife have been thru a lot over the years and together they conquer those battles.  Love them both and will be praying for them and their awesome girls thru this next journey!

It's a chilly Saturday morning with rain coming later today.  Football watching is what I'll be doing later this afternoon!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

It's me again Lord...

"It's me again Lord"  Do you know that song?  I sing it frequently and I am asking for your prayers for this little guy.  My Great-Nephew Waylon is in the hospital.  He has an abscess (with a big long name) and is getting great care.  Please help me pray for him and his Mommy and Daddy.  Thank you in advance for praying for this little fella, I love him SO much!

Here are the lyrics (a little different than I sing it)

I'ts me again Lord

Troubles come and I can't find an answer

Lonely nights I spend in agony
I have no other friend that I can turn to
So here I am Lord back upon my knees

It's me again lord I've got a prayer I need an answer

It's me again Lord I've got a problem I can't solve
Well I don't mean to worry you but here I am facing something new
And I need help that only comes from You, it's me again Lord

I know You're mighty busy in Your Heaven

Forming worlds and hanging stars to shine
But You promised if I'd ask that I could see them
So here I am Lord asking one more time

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Time to wear the coat...

Time to wear the coat.  My favorite, most warm coat, stays in my car.  Seriously, it is the warmest coat and while it stays in the car... I have yet to wear it this Winter.  It's time to put the coat on.  We have had a mild Winter so far and we don't have bitter cold, at least not for long spurts.  The Weather reports say we might even get a little Wintry mix this weekend, we will see:)

We had fiber for dinner last night:)  It was the yummiest, cabbage with smoked sausage and squash (yellow and zucchini).  Marc said that he was enjoying his fiber, we both laughed:)  It's hard to come up with something interesting to cook EVERY SINGLE DAY!  I search and search for good recipes.  I think today will be Kelly Kelly's chicken pot pie.  Always delicious!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Mother/ Daughter time...

During the Holidays, there is lots of togetherness and after... not so much.  It's a kinda down time, everybody is getting back to their routine and the kids are back in school.  Yesterday Tracy had business on my side of town and we got to have a little Mother/Daughter time:)

I left the door open for her and squealed a little when I saw her at my front door:)  She squeezed me pretty hard and I hugged her right back:)

We sat and chatted and then headed to my local wing place for some lunch!  It was SO nice to catch up in person!  Back to my house for some couch-sitting and more talking until it was time for her to leave.  I stood there until she drove off and waved goodbye!  It was a "good feeling" kinda day:)

A visit means so much!  If you have someone who might enjoy your company, go visit them!  I have some "NEW YEAR" visiting to do!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Beauty around me...

The beauty I saw on my Sunday.  The sky was blue and the sun was shining.  I went for a walk and snapped a few pics.  The camellia is blooming, it was a 50th birthday gift from a former co-worker... 14 years ago.  My husband does an excellent job caring for the Christmas cactus.  Not quite blooming, but soon:)

This little girl brings me joy daily.  Thank you Autumn for sending me pictures and making the distance a little easier!  I love you Brooklyn!

This little family had a night out for dinner this weekend.  They snapped a family picture before they left.  I miss them and can't wait to see them soon.

It is Monday, another glorious day to get outside.  The cooler weather is coming so I will enjoy these mild temps while they last.  I have a package to mail to Kentucky.  My Nephew and family were in town but didn't make it to my house for their Christmas gifts.  I have one gift left to deliver to my Sister Brenda.  Perhaps today or one day this week I will close the books on Christmas 2018.

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

That bright yellow sun...

I will start this day being thankful for that bright yellow sun in the forecast.  It is a bit chilly this morning but doesn't feel so bad when the sun is shining.  It has been a rainy week and having to stay in has helped my list of inside chores to get checked off.

This is what I plan on working on in the new year.  Helen Keller says it best...  We all have shadows in our lives, right?  I will not be dragged down by those shadows, how about you?  Face to the sun...

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Seriously, still raining...

SERIOUSLY?  It has rained and rained and rained... and when I woke up this morning, YEP more rain.  There is a chance it will end a little later and we might get a weekend of sunshine, SO praying that it does.  We are sick of it and I would love to be able to get out of the house.

Yesterday was an inside kinda day, laundry done, folded and put away.  A de-clutter project started and more Christmas things packed away in the attic.  The 80% off at Hobby Lobby got me in the store a few days ago for some wrapping paper and this cute pillow.  I couldn't pass it up with the bright colors and it can stay out for a while:)

That's that for this morning.  Gonna finish my coffee and get busy.  I hope you have a blessed day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Day 3...

I am about to get going on this 3rd day of the New Year.  Sooooo many things I want to accomplish.  I need another hand or two:)  The older I get, the harder it is to get moving.  I enjoy sitting in my chair with my coffee for WAY TOO long in the mornings.  Perhaps I should start earlier:)

That's all I have to chat about.  It's a new day, gonna make the most of it.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

I don't do resolutions...

I don't do resolutions because I can't seem to keep them (wink).  BUT... what I can do is what this quote says.  There is something about getting older that makes you realize how important every single day is.

So my attempt at getting things done without calling it a resolution...  I plan on accomplishing one thing every day.  It lasts for a while and then I get out of the habit, but at least ONE thing a day gets put on my DONE list until I slack off:)  Yesterday was spent taking down the Christmas tree and getting it upstairs.  While I am missing it this morning, the mantel lights are still on and glowing.  WE had traditional New Year's Day dinner, just the two of us and settled in for lots of football.

Gotta stop chatting and get moving.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Happy New Year 2019...

Happy New Year to all of you!  I pray this will be a great year for all of us, good health and great times!

We spent the evening just the two of us, ate dinner and watched lots of football!  I cheated... I pulled last year's picture of us celebrating, but we looked the same last night:)

We were both asleep when the new year rolled in and you know what?  That's just fine with me:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!  HUGS!
