A smile in the sky...

The sun is a smile in the sky:)  I sat outside by the pool late in the afternoon and it was good to breathe some fresh air.  I can't make a big long list of what I accomplished yesterday.  I decided to go thru my "warm weather" clothes before buying a bunch more.  It is always nice to pull out my collection of Capri pants and seeing that THEY STILL FIT:)  So... I don't need quite as many things as I thought I did.  Perhaps some new tops and sandals.  Why is this on my mind?  We have a little getaway coming up:)  AND it's to somewhere warm:)

Gonna have my 2nd cup of coffee and PERHAPS get my MUCH NEEDED hair appointment.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Not much to say...

There isn't a lot happening around here to talk about, but... I will just say HOWDY!  The rain is returning and THEN... the cold weather will be back hopefully for only a short spurt:)  This is the time of day where I really don't need to still be sitting here drinking my coffee, but that is exactly what I am doing:)  I need to do a little shopping for new Spring clothes, perhaps I will get busy and do that on-line of in store!  Perhaps...

Leftovers are yummy...

You don't realize how bad you felt until you feel better:)  Thankfully each day is better than the day before.  My Dentist appt yesterday had me with YET another new hygienist.  I liked her a little better than the one before and it was done and over pretty fast.  A little shopping afterwards and back home for some yummy Brunswick stew.  My Brother Leon always makes stew for Christmas Eve and this from a local restaurant is as close to his as any I have found.  YUM:)  I drove past many fast food places when I remembered this was left and SO happy that I did.  THEN... Tracy sent home leftovers from our Sunday night dinner, so I didn't have to cook last night:)

Happiness is a sunny day...

Quick post this morning.  The sun is shining, I am thankful!  We elected a new Preacher yesterday and I really like him.  TODAY?  It's time for my 6 month dental check-up.  I DO NOT like to go to the dentist, no I don't.  6 months flies right by and today is the day.  I will be there early, it won't take long, it's never as bad as I anticipate and the countdown will start for the next appointment which will be here before you know it.  Did I mention the sun is shining?  I complained enough about the rain, didn't I?  Well... that bright yellow ball in the sky will be showing itself again today... I will be thankful for that:)

Autumn and Brooklyn are heading back home this morning, BOO HOO!  Praying that they have a safe trip!  We had a nice visit with them last night and a yummy dinner, thank you Tracy and Derek!  Gotta get going, have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Sweet baby shower...

The medicine is working and I am SO thankful!  Yesterday was my Nephew Justin and his wife Kimberly's baby shower.  I enjoyed every second of it.  I sat with my life-long friend Joan and we giggled about old times:)  I love her so much.  Waylon Cruz was looking handsome along with his Parents.  There were lots of Church folks there and SO many precious gifts.  Cindy and Britani did a great job with the food and decorations!  Justin and Kimberly were very thankful and said so after the gifts were opened.  I pray for this little family as they welcome their little girl:) Addaleigh James!

Today is Church day, we are voting on a new Preacher and I am SO thankful to feel up to being there!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Peep the Peeps...

A sure sign that Spring is a-coming:)  PEEPS, a whole lot of them.  Anybody else out there like these or am I alone:)  I eat at least one box of them during the Easter season and I also love the baby robin eggs!  I was picking up an order at Walmart when I saw this display.  It made me wonder, was Easter coming early this year?  NOPE... I looked it up April 21st.  So you won't see any of these in my house for a while.  It's an Easter treat:)

I called the doctor yesterday and he called me in 2 prescriptions.  I already feel better with a full day of meds.  Thanks for all the "get-well-wishes"!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Dah, dah, dah...

The rain is still in our forecast and I am seriously sick of it.  My sinus problem hangs on and the Doctor has been notified:)  We are having our coffee and taking a look at what the day might hold for us.  We had planned on visiting with Autumn and Brooklyn but the hacky cough will keep me at home.  Hopefully the doctor will call soon and send medicine:)

Instead of complaining...

Instead of complaining about the rain, sinus issues and other things that I have no control over...  I will show you some of the pretties around my yard.  The jonquils are drooping a bit from the rain, but are still blooming.  Shared flowers are the best, aren't they?  Some of these are shared from family and some are growing wild at the edge of the woods:)

Imagine my surprise...

Imagine my surprise when Autumn and Brooklyn were coming for a visit, out of the blue... here they come.  Well, before you know it I am in the car heading out to see them.  Tracy took this picture of B and ME:)  I love it so much.  She and I snuggled a lot and I enjoyed every moment of it.

 She took a long nap right in my lap and then I made a pallet in the floor.  We played with all of her favorite toys and giggled:)

There's someone else in the house, the family's new puppy.  He is getting to see his little friend here:)

This is the new puppy Winston!  ISN'T he the cutest?  I think so too and a really sweet puppy.

I hated to leave but needed to make the long drive home.  All the way home, my mind was searching for what we could have for dinner on a cold/rainy day.  French onion soup was what I came up with.  It was perfect with grilled cheese sandwiches:)

My Sister has a b'day today...

Today is my Sister Brenda's Birthday... she is 69.  This was last year's birthday lunch.  We don't meet for lunch anymore but I still enjoy looking back at those times.  Happy Birthday to you dear "Susta"  I love you!

Bad cold is in the house...

Bad cold is in the house:(  NOT me, Marc... he keeps plugging along, tissues, vitamin C, orange juice and cold meds.  I tell him to wash his hands a lot and don't cough on me:(  I am doctoring him as best I can but keeping him in the house will be a problem.  He walks 12+ miles everyday and I am afraid he isn't going to be able to get out today to do his walk.  I may have to tie him to the chair.  The rain is going to be with us for days and maybe that will help keep him inside, perhaps.

Smiled a lot yesterday...

Valentine's Day 2019  Miss Brooklyn called me to say thanks for her little puppy:)  She said she loved it and I love her!  When we visited last week, I hid gifts for Brooklyn and her Parents.  It was fun to send Autumn to find them and she was surprised that she hadn't seen the bags:)

Off to visit this bunch of sweeties to deliver their Valentine goodies.  They were happy and we got selfies together.  My heart smiled a lot yesterday.  Avery and I even did a little dance together.  Tracy said we were cute, that we were the same size:)

Every day may not be good...

This is a very true quote.  Some days there are roadblocks every where you look!  If you bust thru them or jump over them... there is almost always something good on the other side:)  The line at the store was long, the people were complaining.  The line at the Post Office was long and people were complaining.  I chatted with those who were in the mood to chat and met a really nice man at Kroger.  He was an older gentleman, retired Army Airborne.  He showed me a card he was buying for his wife and we both laughed.  I thanked him for his Service and told him about Autumn's husband also Army Airborne.  It was a very pleasant conversation and we both said goodbye.  He told me to be careful out there in this World.  Thank you MR., you made my shopping experience a nice one:)

Just another rainy day...

Some days I can stay in and some days I can't... this is one of those "I can't" days:)  It is gonna rain on and off and I am hoping to get my errands done in between.  At least it isn't cold too.

Reminiscing...

Sometimes I look back what was going on a year ago, well... actually this was January 2018.  Pa, Ganky and the Grandkiddos:)  Oh and the Grandpuppies too!  A year goes by pretty fast, doesn't it?  Anyway, just reminiscing a bit this morning by looking thru last year's pics:) 

Today is a dreary day weather-wise.  I didn't go to Church yesterday, traveling just sucks my energy more than it used to.  I needed SO many things from the grocery store and joined the thousand other folks yesterday afternoon to get what I needed.  We watched the golf tournament being played in California and cooked dinner.  Peaceful, uneventful day.

Traveling babysitters...

They needed a babysitter so they could go to the Military Ball and we just so happened to be available:)  We enjoyed every single moment of our time with Autumn, Seth and Brooklyn.  They got all dressed up and off they went to the Ball.  We stood on the front porch and waved as they drove off:)  It was a great few days of baby snuggles, I cherish them SO much and look forward to the next time.  Brooklyn is a little doll-baby and we love her to pieces.  I think back to Autumn's time as a baby and it seems like only yesterday.  Time flies by...

What I realize with each trip, we aren't as young as we used to be!  We move a little slower (especially me) and always look forward to being home.  Home is a wonderful place to be.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A sure sign of Spring...

Lookie what I found while out walking yesterday.  The jonquils are poking out from the ground.  It is a sure sign that Spring is coming.

This little bloom is ready and I will keep an eye out for it to open:)

We had an early morning today.  Marc has a doctor appt and it made me think back to the days when we both worked.  Setting the clock and opening my eyes before they are ready to open.  We usually just wake up when our body clocks say it's time:)  Sometimes we need to remember how things used to be and be thankful for the way things are.

Feeling like Spring...

I know it's not Spring yet, but it is gonna feel like it this week.  Thursday is supposed to be 77 degrees!  WHAT?  I know it won't last, Friday the high is 58... BUT Thursday WOW, that's a nice day for February:)

It was a pretty dull Super Bowl, but I am mighty proud of Atlanta for being great hosts!  Next year it will be in Miami!  That's it for today!  Have a blessed day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Oldies watching football...

We love to watch football, not everyone does, but we do.  This is the big one and yes, we'll be watching.  We watched the NFL Honors last night and there are SO many great players doing great things.  I shopped yesterday for some snacks to have during the game.  Simple and tasty is the way we are going.  No parties for us, just two "oldies" watching football:)

6 more weeks...

Our Groundhog saw his shadow, 6 more weeks of Winter for us.  The guys up North say early Spring.  SO... we will wait and see who is right:)

I am happy to see the sunshine coming thru the blinds, it's Super Bowl Weekend and it happens to be in our city.  What I have seen so far, Atlanta has done a pretty good job:)  I hope it will be a good game and as usual... the Patriots are picked to win.  I am pulling for the Rams just to have someone new hold up that trophy:)

Hello February...

IT's February 1st, not sure where January went but it's gone.  Isn't February spelled weird?  Yep, it is.  Anywho, it's a new day, a new month and it is the month of LOVE!
