Time to do nuffin...

OK, it is the weekend but "nuffin" is never on my to do list:)  My Sister Barbara asked my yesterday if I was on "blog strike"!  Nope, just not posting every day.  There has just been too many things going on and posting every day isn't tops on my list lately.  I'll be back to my regular schedule soon, I hope:)

Choose happiness...

Great advice on this pillow!  It is on the chair in the lobby at my Sister Brenda's rehab facility.  I love pillows that have sayings like this and yes... I stopped to take a picture!  Brenda is enjoying her new place for rehab and doing great.  Prayers are definitely being answered!  Thank you ALL!

Starting the day with a grateful heart...

Good morning everyone!  I am starting this day with a grateful heart, the sun is shining thru the blinds and it looks like it is going to be a rain-free day for a change:)

 Oh the deliciousness on our dinner table last night:)  Fresh tomatoes from our garden, peppercorn tenderloin, green bean casserole and to complete the meal BUTTERY corn on the cob!  It was SO yummy, I had two plates full:)

Blogger's block...

I have been blogging for a long time (10 years) and lately have been having blogger's block.  My computer is slow as molasses and it takes a long time to load pictures.  I dread opening it because it takes so long.  BUT... here I am showing you our tomatoes, growing tall and turning red.  If you have followed me for very long, you know how much I love them.  We are almost ready to start eating them:)

I found this recipe and it looks like something we will love.  I will report back after I try it SOON!

 And blooms out by my pool.  I love this color:)

Family pictures are important...

This isn't a very clear picture but the point is... take family photos.  The little lady in the front recently passed away.  This picture was made Christmas Eve of 2018.  I believe the entire family was there and I know they will cherish this picture forever.  My son-in-law Derek's grandmother (MawMaw) was 94 years old.  She had been sick recently and in the hospital.  94 is a long life but as Derek's Mother said last night "you are never ready to let them go".  So true!  Take the family pictures, we always try to do that and I am thankful that we do.

This post is for my Sister Brenda.  She is back in the hospital and hopefully having a hot cup of coffee this morning.  Brenda has had a rough year and could use prayers and positive thoughts to complete this journey she has been on since March 2nd.  Brenda, remember what I wrote on that note that I left on your tray table... KEEP THE FAITH and TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME!  Love you bunches!

Rain again today... and most every day.  I wish I had a tally of how much rain we have had this month.  Last month we had to add water to the pool and use the irrigation on the lawn.  NOT this month.  That will be my positive for the day:)  The water bill won't be so high this month.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

The beach tent and morning snuggles...

When we started thinking about our beach trip, I purchased a tent for Brooklyn to sit in on the beach.  It pops right up from a tiny circle and we used it on the beach a couple times, and in the house A LOT:)  She loved crawling in and out of it and we ALL played in it with her.  We managed to close it enough to fit it in the car.  After watching some YouTube videos last night, it is still not the way it started out.  I will try again today to make it smaller for storing until next year:)   

This isn't a very flattering picture of me but shows how my mornings started while on vacation.  These are the moments I miss the most, enjoying this little girl first thing in the morning!  Spending time with her takes me back to when Autumn was a baby.  She is SO much like her Mama:)  Looking back and remembering...

Back to reality...

I am back from the beach!  It is always nice to go and nice to be back home.  We had a little rain and lots of sun.  We were up early every morning with a hot cup of coffee and a beautiful view of the beach.  PERFECT way to start the day!

We enjoyed lots of family time and Brooklyn entertained us and gave us lots of smiles.  We ate lots of good food at restaurants and in the house:)

Go carts and amusement park are always on our list of things to do before we leave.  SO... we did both on the last two nights we were there.  We started the traditional puzzle but didn't finish it:(  Pa and I will be working on it to get it completed.

 It was a great vacation filled with lots of good memories.  My computer continues to give me grief.  I have tons of pictures but this is all I am doing for today:)

The best way to start the day...

Just popping in to say HI!  We are enjoying some "rest and relaxation"!  The weather started out a little rainy but has cleared up and is gorgeous!  We are enjoying the views, this is looking out from the living room to the ocean...  There is a pool too and everyone has been splish-splashing in it:)

And the other side of the house faces the inlet.  The kids have been out in the kayak riding around on this side.

As you probably imagined, I am taking lots of pictures but having trouble loading them.  Here is one of Little Brooklyn riding around in her float in the pool.  She is a joy and makes my heart happy!

Sky is half blue...

My glass is half full, at least that's what I say A LOT:)  Yesterday, my sky was half blue!  The weather forecast has been RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN.  Well, I had grocery shopping to do and I caught a break.  The rain stopped and the sun popped out for a few minutes.  As I looked up to take a picture,  it made me smile to see that after the rain... the sun will come out again!  For those of you going thru tough times... better days are ahead!

Just Grandma and Me...

You know that feeling when you got a lot done but so tired?  That was me at the end of the day yesterday.  Planning and making stacks of WAY MORE things than I need to take, promising I won't take it all and yet taking it anyway:)  That was also me:)  Lot of what I do when planning for vacation is look forward to spending time with my little family, saying good night and saying good morning!  I packed the little book that I have read over the years, no matter how big the grandkids got... "Just Grandma and Me".  Can't wait to read it again in just a few days.  They may roll their eyes but I will read it anyway!  Brooklyn looks ready:)

I have errands to run today, IN THE RAIN, but I must get out of the house!  Have a blessed day dear friends, HUGS!

Not much news...

Not much news from Ganky and Pa's place!  We are plugging away at prepping for vacation.  I grocery shopped yesterday for food to get us thru the week.  The piles are growing and lists are getting full:)  I will be busy again today inside.  Not much time to chat this morning but wanted to say HI!

Happy Birthday June...

This is my Sister-in-law June and today is her birthday!  I love this sweet lady more than there are words to express.  She continues to amaze me with her strength and grace!  I love you June and hope you have a beautifully blessed day!

I will be getting busy cleaning again today!  SO much was accomplished yesterday and while I was tired at the end of the day, it was a good tired.  It seems like this year has been spent more away from home than home and it showed.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Listen to the rhythm...

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain... We were sitting at the kitchen table eating dinner and what did I see?  RAIN, RAIN, RAIN glorious rain!  It has been dry here, we have been steady watering the garden and flowers.  Thank you Lord for the rain.  YES, I ran outside and took a picture:)

AND a video:)  It sounds wonderful!

I went to Church (tired as I was) and enjoyed it so much!  Then I grabbed some KFC and delivered it to my Sister Brenda.  She couldn't think of anything she wanted but KFC always hits the spot!  We had a very nice visit.  She feels better but is getting tired of not being able to get up and about.  Prayers appreciated for her to get her mobility back.

Happy birthday...

Brooklyn is turning one next month but we needed to celebrate a little early.  SO we did!  She had a great time, lots of gifts and her OWN special cake made by her Mom and Mimi!  Happy Early Birthday little one!

Lots of gifts and our littlest angel enjoyed it all.  Autumn and Tracy made cookies for a "take home" treat!  SO cute and yummy too!

It was great to see some of Autumn's friends.  Softball buddies from school years and college.  They love Brooklyn and brought her gifts and lots of hugs!

 TODAY is a VERY special day!  My TWIN Niece and Nephew Britani and Bradley are celebrating their 26th birthday!  Happy Happy Birthday!  I hope you do something really fun today!  Love you BOTH!

Hello June...

I am not sure how this happened, but the calendar says it is June 1st!  It is going to be a beautiful start to a new month!  We stay so busy but THIS month... I plan on slowing down a bit, I am sure gonna try:)
