Just in case you missed me...

Marc and I are enjoying our time away, watching the granddoggies and running the shuttle for the Grandkids:)  School yesterday and football game last night, chinese take-out for dinner and a good night's rest, AHHH!  We love the view from the swing and porch... sometimes you just need to stop and rest a little!  The golfers are out and about early this morning and I am still sitting with my coffee.  Tracy's flowers are ALL SO pretty, I just had to share a couple of them with you!  This is where I have been, just in case you missed me:)

A special day to remember my Mama...

Today is my Mama's birthday, she would be 94 today!  I chose to post this picture because I think she is beautiful!  She was the best Mama ever! I will love and miss her every day for ALL of my life!

Birthday and Ballgame...

It's my Sister Barbara's 77th birthday today!  She is the heart of our family and always makes sure everybody is OK.  I love you Barbara and hope you enjoy your day!

Christmas of 1987, I gave my Mama these ducks with each of her children's name and birthday on them.  After she passed away, I made each of my Brothers and Sisters a set.  Mine sits in my dining room and that is where I go if I have a little trouble remembering an age or birthday:)

Barbara is the lead duck!  She is our leader!

I always post this picture because it is my favorite picture of ALL time!  Barbara and ME:)  We were enjoying a little sister time!

2015 lunch at my house!  What a sweet group we had that day!  SO... if you have a Barbara in your family, you are lucky... as am I!  I feel blessed and treasure her!

My Granddaughter Avery played her first softball game last night and they WON 10-9.  Avery got a hit and caught a fly ball.  GO AVES!  It was nice to be sitting there watching her play, I have missed it!

Not one of my favorite days...

My six month dental check-up was yesterday, I always start dreading it a month before, perhaps think about canceling it but suck it up and go.  I have been going to the same dentist for half my life.  He was a young fella when we started going there... hmmm that means I was young too:)  But, I went and now it is behind me for 6 more months.  It is definitely NOT one of my favorite appointments, but on the bright side at least I have teeth! 

It is a little cooler this morning but the heat is creeping back in and the humidity is always with us.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

There and back...

We took a little trip to attend the funeral of our Son-in-law Richard's Dad.  He was a young 72 and had a number of health issues.  We gathered for dinner on Friday and had lots of good food and fellowship with Richard's family.  The sweet lady on the left is Richard's Mom Judy.  What a joy it was to spend some time with her.

This was the view on the way back to the hotel.  It was SO pretty, I do love a sunset!

These three grandchildren seem to grow a foot between visits.  L-R Madison, Maybree and Maverick.  I hugged them every time I got the chance:)

My Son-in-law eulogized his Dad and delivered the message too!  What a blessing it was to sit and hear him speak.  I am so proud of Richard, I know that was hard to do!  We left the funeral to head back home and this appeared in the sky!  A gorgeous rainbow, perfect ending to our trip.

BLT, YUM...

I am not the best of cooks like most of the ladies in my family, but I manage to put a decent meal on the table:)  This bacon is SO good, SO easy and not all of the splitter-splatter of frying bacon.  It is fully cooked and stays in the pantry, gasp!  Yes I have used this brand and the store brand... all good.  Last night, I popped a box of this in the oven (you can also cook it in the microwave).  Crispy bacon ready for BLTs, that's what we had for din-din:)  I made some baked mac-n-cheese too!

My favorite bread, gotta be fresh:)  Sliced tomatoes, fresh crisp lettuce and sliced an onion!

See those tomatoes, not from my garden!  My Sister Brenda and I stopped at a local store on the way home from the doctor and we each bought some.  One slice covers the entire sandwich!  I am sharing the aluminum foil (just in case you haven't tried it) MY FAVE!  I have been using this for years and can't live without it.

Perhaps you didn't know:)  That the perforated area on the end of the foil box is for this.  Just poke it thru and it holds the roll in place, just FYI!

One day at a time...

Up early yesterday and traveled downtown to take my Sister Brenda to the doctor.  Her recovery is ongoing and just a couple more months until she is whole again!  I love you Brenda!  One day at a time, that's how I try to live... One day at a time!

It's a new day...

Yes, it's a new day, a new week and a new chance to make a difference!

There isn't a whole lot to report about the weekend:)  I spent my Saturday gutting my dining room (aka my "catch-all") and WOW, it felt good!  Anybody else have trouble getting rid of magazines?  Well, I am letting go of these and a bunch more.  Seldom do I look back at the old magazines and they are leaving my house!  In all of my Saturday doings, I ended up with a sinus headache and it's still with me.  I am going to shake it off today and hopefully get my groove back to do some more cleaning.

A day of shopping...

 Sometimes we just need to shop and yesterday was one of those days!  We tried a new place and ended up at an old place!

You know the kind of place, different booths owned by individuals.  Tracy got a LOT of great things and I picked up a few things too:)

While I was having fun with Tracy, Marc took a day trip to visit his former boss with another former boss and friend.  The guy in the middle is going to be 89 this year.  We visited him a year ago and they had a great time with him yesterday.  I told Marc he looked handsome, he said "my fashion designer dressed me"!

So... that's where I was yesterday and today I am recovering from being on my feet all day!  I pray you all are having a great day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

One thing at a time...

What do you do when your "to do" list is SO long?  Well, I am picking one thing and working on that:)  It seems to be stressful when I look at the entire list, ya know?  SO... today I will be working on that list one thing at a time.  When the coffee cup is empty, I'll get moving!

I need to visit the beach...

Beautiful day for a shower...

It was a beautiful (but hot) Sunday for a bridal shower.  My Son-in-law Derek's Sister Mary is getting married next month and the shower was yesterday.  Beautiful shower and WAY too much good food.   Homemade cakes and petit fours, YUM.  Bottom left Mary and her Mama Judy, sweet picture of these two!  Middle right, Mary with Tracy and her girls!

More pictures of my crew!  Brooklyn was a doll throughout the long ride and the long shower.  She made some little friends, two little blonde girls Charlotte and Leah but I didn't get a picture of them.  They were so sweet to little Brooklyn:)

It was a great day!  I sure was wiped out when I got home.  Marc said "want me to go get wings for dinner"?  WOW, yes I did.  SO, we ate wings and I watched TV and mostly watched the clock until time for bed:)  Have a blessed Monday dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Family...

Our "Family home-place" is still standing but barely.  It is rundown and after being on the market many times, still hasn't sold.  The property needed cleaning and clearing out.  Who do you call on to help?  The FAMILY came together, heavy equipment, dumpster and lots of sweat.  WE all sat together at the end of the day near the big oak tree and had a very nice visit.  We were soaking wet from the hard work in the 90 degree heat but it felt good to get the work done.  Family is CERTAINLY my biggest support system.

Thank you to all who were there yesterday.  Perhaps you cut and trimmed, perhaps you brought lunch, perhaps you weren't able to help but offered your kind words... THANK YOU!  It still isn't perfect but looks much better!

Great report and prayer request...

How long has it been since you got a smiley face at the doctor?  Well... my Sister Brenda got one yesterday and we both got a hug on our way out.  She had a great report and was released from this doctor to move on to the next one.  I am thankful beyond words!

I almost didn't post today!  My heart is SO heavy for one of my long-time blog friends ANNE!  Please join me in praying for her as she lost a very special member of her family:(  I love you Anne and please know that you will stay in my prayers!

A little rest after a big day...

I took yesterday to recover from the Aquarium trip:)  Seems as I get older, it just takes a little time to rest up after a big day.  This guy is getting old and crusty like me:)  BUT... also like me, still standing:)

So, I sat outside with a little breeze blowing and just enjoyed a little rest.  Ahhh, peaceful...

I will be heading out this morning to take my Sister Brenda to see her doctor.  We are very anxious to hear what he has to say about her progress.  She has come so far and just gets better every day.  Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!

Our Monday at The Georgia Aquarium...

We checked off The Georgia Aquarium yesterday!  We were welcomed and asked to stand in front of a green screen like the weather folks use on TV.  Here we are:)

I think this was my favorite part of the day!  The Dolphin Celebration was worth the wait in line!  Those dolphins put on a show for us, very smart animals!
