Happy Halloween...

Happy Halloween, I hope the weather will cooperate so all the little children can get their bags full of treats!  I am watching the weather and they say colder weather is coming after the rain stops!

Enjoy your days dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A busy and fun Tuesday...

I would like to report that I filled one huge garbage bag to throw away and it is being picked up this morning:)  That was Monday and yesterday my day was spent with this little girl, her Mama and Mimi.  Brooklyn and her Mommy give me SO much joy and when they are in town, I visit!  We played and played, she runs all over the place and loves to sit in the dog beds:)  We went up to the attic and got some of her Aunt's baby dolls to play with, she loved pushing them around in her buggy:)  While Brooklyn took her afternoon nap, Autumn and I piled up on the sofa for a little nap too.  I got to see Austin, Alex and Avery before I left and got hugs from all!  It was a great day for this old Ganky!

I was up at the crack of dawn yesterday because Marc was going on a day trip with some of his old work buddies.  They were visiting another friend who had been sick over the years.  It was nice to hear the stories about their days together working and their visit yesterday!  (My honey in the striped shirt)

World Series game 7 tonight!  It is a rainy day here and my Sister Brenda has a quick appointment at noon.  That's it for my day, hope yours is a good one.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

To keep, to throw away...

Sunday, Church and home for an afternoon of football and then the World Series.  Are you watching?  I really don't care who wins, both teams are great but I like it to go all 7 games:)  Perhaps I will get my wish.  Today I am starting a new thing.  It is the first day of my "fill one bag a week" with either throw away or donate.  I say it here so that I can report my success:)

Now the coffee is calling my name and I need to get moving, gonna work on filling that first bag.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Waited patiently...

Yesterday one of the things on my "to do" list was GET A FLU SHOT!  Not everyone gets one, but we do.  Marc went when they opened and called to let me know that they had it and he only waited 15 minutes.  Hmmmmm, off I go to get mine.  My wait was MUCH LONGER than his!  I waited patiently:)  SO... I checked that off my list and although my arm is a bit sore, flu shot is done for the year.

It's supposed to be a little rainy around here but thankfully I don't have to get out.  Those days are nice sometimes.  Enjoy your day and weekend dear friends.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Some days are just tougher...

I think a lot of days that seem to be tough can change with your attitude.  I try to keep a good one but I have a bad day now and then and that's allowed:)  Yesterday was Marc's Colon check, up at 4:20 to drive him for the procedure.  As I get older, my motor takes a while to get running and "up and at 'em" doesn't work too well with my routine!  We did it, done for 5 more years and back home.  We both piled up on the sofa and slept.  I woke up every now and then to feel guilty about just sleeping but we needed to recover, (him more than me).  My sinus issue is much better and for that I am thankful.  We have SO much to be thankful for but even I have a "not so good day" occasionally.
Enjoy your Friday dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Spending time with old friends...

I was happy to see my friend Celene and her Mama yesterday at the funeral home!  A lifelong friend from our old Church that we attended in our younger years lost her husband to cancer.  I always hate the circumstances but love being able to spend time with my old friends.  This is an old picture but we all pretty much look the same (wink).

Have a blessed day dear friends!  Gotta get moving, my Sister has two appointments today and I am her chauffeur:)  HUGS!

A little rain and a lotta smiles...

We have gotten some much needed rain lately and perhaps another shower this morning.  I am sitting here with my coffee so what happens outside is fine with me:)

I have posted this quote before but here it is again.  My little Great-Granddaughter Brooklyn gives me joy EVERY Day!  Her Mama, my first Grandchild, sends me pictures and videos to let me see what they are doing.  It makes the distance seem not so far:)

They were leaving the house a couple days ago and Autumn sent me this picture of her little angel!  She fills my heart with smiles!  Her little personality is just precious!  I can't wait to see her again real soon:)

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Sharing a recipe...

Good morning Everyone!  I stayed in yesterday all day, I decided to give myself another day to feel all better.  While I was sitting with my laptop, I looked up ways to cook pork chops for dinner.  This was a yummy sounding recipe, easy peasy and cooked in the oven.  They were delicious, so I thought I would share it with you.  Not much happening around here and that's ok with me:)

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups panko
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Four 3/4-inch bone-in pork chops (about 2 1/4 pounds)
Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Directions
  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Combine the panko, oil, Parmesan, Italian seasoning and 3/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Put the pork chops in a large bowl and toss to coat with 1 tablespoon water. Place the pork chops in the bag and shake well to coat, pressing the breadcrumb mixture firmly into the meat.
  • Place the pork chops on a wire rack set on a baking sheet and top evenly with any breadcrumbs remaining in the bag. Bake until the breadcrumbs are dark golden and the internal temperature of the chops registers 165 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer (avoid touching bone), about 30 minutes. Serve immediately with lemon wedges, if using.

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Ahhhh the sound of rain...

Ahhhh the sound of rain, we need it SO bad!  It is a slow and steady rain!  I am thankful for the rain, thankful that I am feeling better and thankful that I grocery shopped yesterday!  We settled in last night with some hot vegetable soup and buttery cornbread, YUM!  It was the perfect dinner to warm us up.  Today, I'll be watching some football and not a whole lot on my MUST DO list:)  SO much to be thankful for!
Enjoy your Saturday dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

It came out of nowhere...

Once or twice a year, I get the sinus funk!  It came out of nowhere and had me down for the count.  My Doctor (bless his heart) called me in something yesterday and with the antibiotics, I will be on the rise:)

I already feel better than I did yesterday morning at this time!  It could be this wonderfully delicious stew we had for dinner last night helped:)  This is from a local restaurant but tastes pretty close to the stew my Brother Leon makes every year for Christmas Eve.

Just wanted to pop in and say HI!  Hopefully I will be up and running soon!  Have a blessed day dear friends!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

The zoo at our house...

I forgot to publish this post yesterday.  I scurried out to take my Sister to two doctor appointments and just forgot.  We got some rain and for that I'll be thankful!  Here is a little peek at our wildlife:)

We have a trail camera to check out what we have roaming around our little country home.  These are some of the critters we caught on the camera.
Squirrel...

Raccoon...

Your guess is as good as mine...

hmmm...

Deer...

More deer...

 Perhaps a rabbit...

I will finish with this pretty blue bird!

So... while we are inside, they are outside, yikes:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Always find time...

It was a crazy busy weekend and no pictures to prove it.  I enjoyed being with lots of family and looked at my phone to see NO pictures to share.  Saturday was my nephew Justin's surprise 30th b'day party and last night I popped in at my niece Kelly's annual weinie roast just to say hi and visit with that sweet family.  It was a great weekend and I am thankful to have seen so many family members.

Not much happening today, I'll enjoy that too!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

34 years and a b'day...

34 years ago today, we said "I DO" and we meant it:)  I think back on that day and it certainly doesn't seem like it has been that long.  What a beautiful, simple and happy day it was.  We don't have any big plans this year, just being together like we have been for all those years.  That's just fine with me!

This is my Niece Kelly and her growing family.   Today is her birthday!  She does so much for so many and I hope it is a perfect day!  Happy Birthday Kelly, I love you!

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A b'day and the last game...

Today is my Nephew Justin's 30th birthday!  He makes me proud all the time.  He has the sweetest family and served our Country as a U.S. Marine!  Happy Birthday Justin, I love you!

Avery's last game of the season was last night and she had a great night.  The team won and played their best game!  She has really enjoyed playing and got better and better with every game she played.

The weather is perfect and my coffee is mighty tasty!  I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

This one stung...

The Atlanta Braves Season is over:(  They lost last night and they lost BIG.   So, instead of watching them get pummeled... I went outside and sat by the pool.  I strolled around the yard looking at all of the pretty blooms.  It was peaceful with a little breeze blowing and felt much better than sitting in front of the TV watching the ballgame when it was clear that they were not gonna come back.  Oh well, as the saying goes... "there's always next year" but this loss stung!

I am busy clearing clutter which seems like a never ending job.  I hope you all are having a beautiful FALL day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

What a sweet day...

Wanna make this Ganky's day, VISIT:)  Autumn, Seth and Brooklyn did just that.  They spent the entire day with me and I enjoyed every single moment of it.  Brooklyn played with all of the old toys and had the best time with a tiny cellphone.  She took a nap while I rocked her and we snuggled.  I sang "Rock-a-bye Brooklyn" a thousand times:)  Her Mama wanted to look at old pictures and I sure have plenty of those.  What a sweet day!

I want them ALL to know this...

After a full day yesterday, the only thing I have to do today is go to Avery's game this afternoon!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Fall is finally showing itself...

I love every Season for a different reason because each one is special.  Fall is finally showing itself here and I am loving it.  I sat outside for a while yesterday, just me all by myself:)

AND... I opened the glass on the storm door to let the fresh air in.  This is my view out my back door:)  I love how the daisies are reaching for the sky.

Have a blessed Sunday dear friends, I pray it is filled with many blessings!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A look back a year and yesterday...

Sometimes I look back at what I blogged about a year ago...  Look below for my post on October 4th, 2018.  Funny thing is WE DID THE EXACT SAME THING YESTERDAY.  Brooklyn's first visit to their favorite restaurant was one year ago and we went again yesterday.  She has grown so much and is the smartest little one:)

ONE YEAR AGO I WROTE!
Girls day out yesterday.  Autumn, Brooklyn and I ran some errands and had lunch at Autumn's favorite place.  It was Brooklyn's first time out in a restaurant and she was the best baby.

Brooklyn 10/4/2018

SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE... THIS IS WHAT I WROTE A YEAR AGO:)  Looks like FALL is coming quicker that last year, how soon we forget!

Patiently waiting for some Fallish weather.  Not yet says the Weather people, they are predicting cooler temps A WEEK FROM MONDAY.  My goodness, that seems like a long time into October.  Oh well.  Enjoy your day dear friend, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Cooler days are coming...

It has been so stinking hot here that we are all miserable with it.  BUT... cooler days are ahead and I will be thankful to feel a little FALLISH air.  This weekend, we will drop below the nineties and feel some really cool mornings.  Perhaps a jacket will be needed soon:)

I managed to do a little FALL decorating in spite of the heat outside.  The leaves are sparkling with the lights behind them.  I will try to do more soon.

Yesterday, I picked up my sister Brenda to have some tests run.  We enjoyed our time together and the appointment went very smooth.  Today, I am going to spend the day with my little Great-granddaughter and her family.  Before you know it they will be headed back to their home and I will be really sad.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Bright yellow petals...

The swamp daisies are reaching for the sky and showing their bright yellow petals!  I went out early yesterday to snap a few pictures.  A former co-worker gave me a few of these a long time ago and they continue to give me joy.  When they started to come up this year, I tried to thin them out a bit and shared with my sister Barbara.  Hers are blooming now too:)  It's the little things that make me smile.  Even though it is still hot outside, we are seeing these signs of Fall and thankful for each one!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Pumpkin picking and ballgame...

Brooklyn at the Pumpkin Patch!  They are visiting her Great-Grandpa in Florida and making some sweet memories:)

SO many baby pumpkins to choose from and the one she picked is perfect!

While B was picking pumpkins, we were watching Avery play ball as the sun was setting.  Only 3 games left and we are loving spending the evenings at the ballfield.  Avery caught a line-drive and tagged the runner out at third... double-play, way to go GIRL!

That's it for this morning.  Coffee is hot and the news is the same on TV.  Another ballgame tonight and we'll be ready to watch this team again.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
