I need a full night's sleep...

Good morning everyone!  Anybody else have trouble sleeping?  I go thru spurts where I just don't get my FULL night's sleep that is needed for me to function.  When that happens, my day moves a little slower.  My coffee is tasting mighty good this morning and the next cup will too:)  I will try to get moving but not too fast:)

I hope you all have a really good day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Old Friends are the best...

Thirteen former co-workers/friends met for our dear friend Charlotte's funeral.  Two rows full of friends celebrating a life well lived.  Charlotte retired from BellSouth, as we all have and she went on to start a tour company.  Bus tours all over the place.  The pastor asked how many had traveled with Charlotte and hands went up all over the Church.  It was a beautiful service and we decided to have lunch together before we parted ways.  What a wonderful time with the best OLD friends.  I will cherish these people all the days I have left on this earth!

This friend right here, Joan... we go so far back that I can't remember how long we have been friends.  Whenever we see each other, we always get a picture to remember that day.  I have a collection of pictures of the two of us, a lot of them.  I love you Joan!  She and I have shared SO many good times and been there for each other in the bad.  TRUE FRIENDS!

Add in Linda, The 3 musketeers:)  We have laughed SO hard and were laughing in this picture.  Friends that make you laugh are the best kind of friends:)

This is my old boss/friend.  He brought me into the Engineering office in Tucker, got me out of tons of traffic and made me a member of an office full of the best bunch of people, including my Husband of 34 years.  Chuck and his wife Deborah came from NC to be with us yesterday.  We could have talked into the night but made plans to visit their Mountain home in the near future.  Old Friends are the bestest friends:)

That was what I did yesterday!  Celebrated a life well-lived and spent the afternoon chatting about the "good ole days".  Life is short, Love like it's your last day!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Piglet and Pooh, It's today...

"It's today", squeaked Piglet...  "My favorite day", said Pooh.  Me too Pooh, me too.  I try to find something good in every day.  Today, I will see some of my co-workers at the funeral of our friend Charlotte.  While it is a sad day, it will be nice to share our love for our friend and each other.

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Never doubt the power of prayer...

I believe in the power of prayer and I believe that this week prayers were heard and answered.  I visited my Sister Brenda in the hospital yesterday, she had been admitted on Monday.  She was flat on her back and couldn't even stand.  Yesterday, she was up on her feet walking with a walker.  It was a miracle in my eyes, to see how far she had come this week.  My advice to ALL, don't give up... Brenda has had a really long year of sickness and surgeries.  Pray without ceasing and never give up, God is listening...

I received news that one of my former co-workers had passed away.  The lady in the front seated wearing blue is Charlotte Turner.  This picture was a couple years ago and she was feeble then, but still smiling.  Charlotte will be missed by SO many including me.  Her funeral is Monday and many of us will be there to pay our respects.  Don't take one day for granted.

I hope you all enjoy your day, it's a rainy one here.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Page 93...

I pulled myself together yesterday and made the 30 minute drive to my little Country Church.  We had a good crowd and as always I really enjoyed the singing.  This is one of the songs that we sang, Page 93 Precious Memories.  It always touches my heart to think of all the Precious Memories in my heart.  SO many memories of my Mama and Daddy, the "good 'ole days", SIX kids,  all of us gathered in the kitchen eating the very best tasting meals.  Christmas Eves in the living room as the family grew SO wonderfully big.  AND seeing my Daddy walking out to the garden to gather the vegetables that tasted better than any I have tasted since.  Sitting under the old oak tree with the family, shucking corn, shelling peas or setting up a table to have a dinner.  YES, those "precious memories... how they linger, how they ever flood my soul".  I pray that I never lose those memories, they sure are precious!

Have a wonderfully blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Happy Sunday...

Happy Sunday!  It is going to be a "feels like Winter" kinda week here.  Gotta find the warm coat, fleece leggings and boots.  Brrrrr... but if the sun is shining, it doesn't feel quite so bad!  Great weather to be snuggled up watching football and there are two great games today!

My coffee is hot and my fleecy Christmas robe is warm, ahhhh good morning to me:)  I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed Sunday!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A really good day...

Some days are just good, beginning to end.  That was my yesterday.  I went for an early morning visit with my Sister Brenda at rehab, back home to do a couple loads of laundry and off to see these little cuties.  Kennedy and Grant are my niece Kelly's grandchildren and they are adorable.  I held Kennedy and fed her while Grant played.  THEN... Grant wanted me to see his room.  We played in his floor with lots of toys and had some good conversation.  It was time for me to head home, Grant and his Mommy walked me out.  I told Grant "I love you", he said "I love you more", he then said "I love you more than Monsters":)  He really made me smile.  Alicia was so sweet to have me over to see her little cuties.  LOVE this family!

I have absolutely nothing planned for today outside of the house.  I need this day to finish putting away some Christmas supplies that I also use during the year, boxes and ribbons etc.  Right now I am finishing my 2nd cup of coffee.  I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Wanna do nothing all day...

Perhaps tomorrow, this will be me:)  It seems like every time I plan on doing nothing... something keeps me busy.  Clutter control and getting rid of things I don't need are tops on my list for the first month of 2020 "a little each day".
I am enjoying my coffee and trying to get moving.  Later today I am going to visit our newest addition to the family, Kennedy June and her big brother Grant:)  I can't wait to see my Great-great niece and nephew!

One day when you all are free, let's get together and do nothing all day:)  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Enough rain already...

It has been rainy WAY TOO many days now.  I keep my umbrella handy and try to stay dry but enough already.  Yesterday my main thing to check off my list was an oil change.  I waited in the waiting room with a lot of other folks and got that done.  It was hard to get any of my other errands done because it was raining, in and out of the car, umbrella up and down... you get the picture and it wasn't a pretty picture:)

TODAY?  Perhaps a break in the rain?  I would like to see a bright sunshiny day but it is out of my control.  What is the weather like where you are?  Whatever the weather, I hope you have a blessed day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

The thunder rolls and the lightning strikes...

I don't know what time it was... but the thunder and the loudest strike of lightning woke me up.  It was a really loud night here and the most rain that I have ever heard falling.  It seems to have quietened a bit now, more to come "so they say"!  Anyway, I hope you all stay safe and dry!

I made a delicious dish for dinner, similar to the way I have made it before but a little different.  I pressed a can of crescent rolls into the bottom of a casserole dish and baked it a little less time than called for on the package.  Browned ground beef with onions, added taco seasoning and a can of rotel tomatoes.  Added all of this to the top of the crescent rolls, I added a layer of baby spinach (yes I did)  and topped with cheese.  I baked at 375 until the cheese was bubbly.  It was really yummy.  Just a simple dinner and of course with chips and queso:)  GREAT for a night of football watching!

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

All the gifts are gone...

Christmas 2019 is finally history.  My Sister Cindy's family celebrated yesterday and it was great to see all of these little kids having fun on their riding toys.  It was a little rainy but they didn't care.  Great time and lots of hugs from these babies.  ALL of the gifts have been delivered now and my house is pretty much back to PRE-Christmas days.

Have a blessed and beautiful day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Another precious addition...

This is my Niece Kelly (Mana) and her little Granddaughter, Kennedy June!  Kelly now has THREE grandchildren, TWO grandsons and this little granddaughter.  I am SO happy for this sweet family and I can't wait to meet her.

I borrowed (stole) a couple of pictures from FB.  SWEET little Kennedy June, look at her sweet hands:)  A week old today and perfect!

Of course I had to show a picture of Big Brother Grant:)  The sweetest picture of Grant with his baby sister, holding her little hand.  Be still my heart!

My Niece Kelly's Grandchildren, which makes them my GREAT-GREAT-Niece and Nephew.  Had to share our newest addition with you!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Tackling the tree...

This is how I spent my day yesterday, UN-Christmasing my house.  The little corner where my tree sat is now looking a little empty.  It had to be done and instead of grocery shopping, I did this.

Then this had to be moved to the attic, thankfully Marc handled that.

AND all of this.  It's a lot of work, isn't it?  The year flies by and all of these precious items will be out again next Christmas.  There are still a few things left to pack away, perhaps today...

AND the first nice weather day, I have to take the Christmas off of my Parent's Cemetery.  Spring flowers will replace the red poinsettias.

It is most definitely a grocery day for me, no putting it off anymore.  I hope you have a wonderfully blessed day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Time spent with family...

So many chores await, but no rush... right?  Yesterday I went to visit my Sister Brenda in the rehab facility.  She is doing good and we enjoyed some nice chats.  We sat in the dining room which is like a fancy restaurant, linen table cloths, glass dishes and chandeliers.  I sat and watched a lot of the men and women as they chatted with the others, waiting on their food.  What a wonderful bunch of kind workers serving lunches to the patients.  I was thankful that Brenda is in a nice place recovering after her latest hospital stay.

We saw a little snow on our visit this past weekend, just a few flakes but it was exciting:)  It is that time of year where many of you are seeing snow, not us where we live but perhaps we will get a dusting before Spring.

SO... my coffee cup is almost empty and my day needs to get going.  Grocery store awaits, the tree is needing to be taken down and Christmas wrapping paper needs to be stored for the year.  Enjoy your day dear friends and let's all join together in prayer for our troops overseas.  My Grandson-in-law Seth is over there and I pray for his safety every day.

Home again...

We spent the weekend in the mountains!  This is our 2nd time at this cottage and we enjoyed it AGAIN!

We met our Knoxville Grandchildren and their parents to exchange Christmas gifts.  Here they are L-R Madison, Maybree and Maverick.  They loved their gifts:)

Roasting marshmallows by the fire.

The girls and their Mama, Richard had already gone to work.

All of us on our way out to return home!  We had a great time!

So, we are home again and happy to be there!  I hope you all have a wonderful day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

I haven't had much time to blog.  Avery is feeling better and is back home, Autumn and Brooklyn are back in their home and Tracy and Derek have returned from Hawaii.  They were sick while over there the last couple of days but are on the mend.  We are preparing for our next Christmas with our Knoxville Grandchildren.  Can't wait to see them!

Happy New Year 2020...

Happy New Year, 2020 WOW... how did that happen!  As usual, we rang in the New Year at home and asleep:)  My Granddaughter Avery has the flu so she is staying with us for a few days to keep her from the rest of the family.  She is doing much better and while I am sorry she has been sick... I have enjoyed having her here with us!  I pray that 2020 will be a great year filled with good health and lots of time with family and friends.

Have a blessed day and New Year ahead!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
