"On the road again" and flowers...

My Brother Marshall is now in his new place for a short time.  Rehabbing to help him learn to move around until he gets his prosthetic leg.  His wife June asked me to take her to the hospital to help get him moved and off I went.  We always enjoy a nice chat when we are together and yesterday was no different.  We got the room packed up and the ambulance came to move him.  Marshall always make me laugh, they were about to take him to the ambulance and he was singing "On the road again"!  A long day for all of us but lookie what awaited me at my front door when I got home, flowers from Sister-in-law June, Nieces Kelly, Crystal and Suzanne!  They are absolutely gorgeous!  Thank you girls for making my day!

This weekend is supposed to be sunshiny and still a little chilly but the sunshine will help!  I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day!  In all of the trials, we celebrate the blessings!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Sunshine, blue skies and a recipe...

Good morning!  Don't 'cha just love a blue sky and bright sunshine?  Me too.  This is an old picture but still pretty to me.  I am itching to make a trip to the beach, probably not right away but it is on my WANNA DO list:)  I spent all day yesterday pulling tax stuff, sorting and tossing things that aren't needed.  Sometimes it is nice just to stay in.

We had a really yummy dinner last night.  It is a casserole recipe from my Daughter's Mother-in-law's Church recipe book.  It is SO delicious.  I will post it in case you want to give it a try.

Blooms and stories...

My Jonquils are still hanging in there!  They started blooming a couple weeks ago and they are still pretty!  It's the first sign of Spring's arrival around our house.  February is almost gone, and March is sneaking up on us.

I visited my Brother yesterday and spent most of the day with him.  He tells me stories of long ago and I soak it all in.  One he told me yesterday... They used to drive an old panel truck down to the spring to get water when the well went dry.  We had a spring running on the back of the property and he said it always had good clear water.  He learned to drive in that truck.  Tell me another story Brother, I want to hear them all:)  Marshall has a room waiting for him at a rehab facility closer to home.  He will learn to move around with one leg until his new leg is made.  Thank you all for prayers for my Brother, I sure do love him.

A day well spent...

Tracy and I "piled up" on the sofa yesterday, she built a fire, served me yummy soup while I didn't move and we enjoyed our day together.  At one point I asked if she had anything she needed to do and she said "THIS"!  Golly gee, I love my daughter and that she spent the entire day with me.  We picked the girls up from School and it was nice to see Alex, Avery and Austin.  HUGS sure were sweet from ALL of them:)

Even Frankie was happy to spend time with me:)

Ganky bragging a bit here.  My Granddaughter, Alex sketched this picture of Winston!  Isn't it amazing!

The real Winston.  I am so impressed with Alex's talents.  She sings and is an artist too!

How special to have some of my Daughter's famous banana bread with my coffee this morning!  Marc said "wow" when he saw it on the counter:)  We both love it!  Thank you Tracy for spending the day with me, for our Hawaii T-shirts and for this yummy treat!  I love you to the moon and back!

It is still a little rainy here but is supposed to clear out later!  I am ready for some sunshine and blue skies!  Enjoy your day dear friend, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Mother/ Daughter time...

Quick post this morning.  My Daughter and I are spending the day together, doing something or nothing:)  We haven't been together in TOO LONG!  They were in Hawaii, they had the flu, we both visited Autumn and Brooklyn at different times, my services have been needed helping and visiting my Siblings etc. and well... today we made a plan for a visit and I am looking forward to being with my GIRL!

SO TRUE!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

"Thanks for the flowers"...

While pushing the buggy thru the grocery store yesterday, I passed a huge display of flowers.  They were still pretty and very cheap:)  My Niece Kelly posted recently that SHE had bought flowers FROM her husband, SO I DID TOO.  Not from her husband but from mine:)  When he came in yesterday, I said "thanks for the flowers", he looked puzzled but said "you're welcome":)  We both laughed and the flowers are sitting on my kitchen table.  A little pick-me-up on my Saturday:)

We had leftover pizza last night.  It is always hard to get pizza warmed over just right, at least it is for me.  But this worked really well and tasted so fresh.  Just in case you need to warm pizza up, give it a try!  From Cook's Illustrated!

The Braves are playing again, Spring training games and I watched the first one yesterday:)  That really makes me smile!  That's all I have this morning.  Have a blessed Sunday dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A day for visiting...

After our dentist appointment yesterday, Marc and I headed to the hospital to visit my Brother Marshall.  He is doing great and has a positive outlook on the future.  He is ready to be back up and about and I can't wait to see that for him.  We had a wonderful visit and back out in the rain.  The next stop was to take my Sister Brenda her birthday gift.  She was sitting in her wheelchair at the front door waiting on me.  It was so nice to see her out of bed!  I took lunch and we sat at the kitchen table chatting while she ate, it was a really nice visit.  Prayers continue for both Marshall and Brenda in the days and months ahead.

Today is a day of catching up on SO many things!  I hope all of y'all have a great day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Thankful and not so good yesterday....

Important news first!  My Brother's 2nd surgery went well and he is on his way to recovery!  It will be a little while before he is fitted for his new leg, but we all know how fast time flies.  I am thankful for all the prayers prayed and will continue to be prayed!

Yesterday when I came down to start my day, it didn't get started too good:(  ALL of my stuff was down.  NO TV, Internet, house phone and NO Cell service!  I knew if I didn't get out and let my daughter know we were OK, she would be sending in a search party:)  I caught her just in time.  Well we knew something big had happened, Hubby found out that someone hit a pole and snatched down a whole bunch of stuff.  We were disconnected ALL day!

I would ride out occasionally to check messages and emails.  It wasn't good but we made it.  We rode to the place where the problem was late to make sure they were still working on it and they were.

When I went to bed last night everything was still down, BUT TA-DA... this morning we are up and running again:)  Last night, we figured out how to work our DVD player (we don't use it very often), and watched a couple of movies!

That is behind us and now I am watching the news, blogging and checking emails.  I told Tracy and Autumn that I felt like I was stranded on a cruise ship without all of the connections.  All is well and I am happy for that.  It is time for our 6 month dentist check-up and if you have been around my blog for very long, you know it isn't anything I look forward to.  Lots of words this morning but HEY, lots to say:)

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Happy 70th and prayers...

Happy 70th Birthday to my Sister Brenda!  I can always remember how old she is, she is 4 years older than me:)  Well in May I will be 66, WOW and I am sure she is saying WOW to 70!  The years fly right by, don't they!  Brenda, I wish you felt like celebrating today!  I pray you will soon!

My Favorite picture of Brenda with me and our dollies:)  I love this picture and I post it every year on her b'day!

This is a picture from years ago but I love it!  Happy 70th B'day my "Susta"!  I love you and hope your day is extra-special!

Today about noon, my Brother Marshall will be having his 2nd surgery!  This one will prepare him for his prosthetic leg.  I can't wait to see him walk without a limp and to ditch his trusty crutch!  If you would pray for another successful surgery and recovery, I would be very appreciative!

I see miracles happening all around me!  I pray that if you need one, it happens!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Plans are made to be changed, I guess...

Yesterday morning, up early and off to Church.  Lots of good singing and the message was good too.  I was planning on going to visit my Brother in the hospital until I saw an unidentifiable object in one of my BRAND SPANKING NEW TIRES:(  Plans changed and home was where I went instead.  It was a nice day to stay in, The Daytona 500 was supposed to be run, rain interrupted that and it will be run this afternoon.  The pre-race festivities were great including the President and First Lady being included.

This sight always makes my heart beat a little faster!  Beautiful...

Oh back to my tire:)  When the husband returned from his walk, I told him the story.  After further checking, it wasn't in the tire but stuck in the tread... whew.  So thankful that I am not heading to get my tire fixed this morning!

I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day, sending HUGS and THANKFUL PRAYERS your way!

Valentine's day and an update...

Valentine's Day was yesterday and it started with my 3 cards by the coffee pot:)  My husband always buys the sweetest cards and I love him, not just on Valentine's Day but every day!  I also received a sweet card from my BFF Celene, I love her!

The view as I was leaving the hospital where my Brother is getting extra-special care!  Isn't it beautiful!  I was born in this same hospital where I was standing to take this picture:)

This is my sweet brother Marshall just before he went down for surgery!  We love each other and thanks to my Sister Cindy for snapping this picture.  We always get a picture together and she knew I would want this one!

A little history, Marshall was in a motorcycle accident in 1973.  His left foot was severely injured and has giving him grief for 46 years.  It has been infected many times, got better, had surgeries too many to count and this time when it got a serious infection... the foot had to be amputated.  It has gone really good so far and he has another surgery yet to come early next week.  I cherish your prayers for his physical healing during and after his hospital stay AND for his mental health as he deals with the new way of life.  He will be fitted with a prosthetic leg after the leg heals and I honestly can't wait to watch him walk without a limp!  Thank you Lord for blessing us with great doctors at a great hospital, I feel life is about to get better for my Brother Marshall!  Hold on Marshall, God knows what he is doing!

I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day, it's gonna be a little chilly here but the sun will be shining.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

It's me again Lord...

Now there are TWO siblings in TWO different hospitals and I am asking yet again for your prayers.  My Brother Marshall was admitted with a severe infection.  He has had surgery and we are waiting to hear if more is needed.  Thank you all for your prayers for Marshall and Brenda!

I believe in the power of prayer, YES I DO!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

After returning from my trip...

The first thing I needed to do after returning from my trip was to visit my Sister Brenda in the hospital.  Up early Sunday and yesterday to visit, her view is like being in the mountains.  So pretty.  I pray and pray and pray for her, appreciating all of you praying for her too.  She needs them for healing and encouragement.  She reads my blog every day, we are praying for you "Susta"!

After my visit with Brenda on Sunday, off I went to my Great-Great-Nephew Grant's 4th birthday party!  It was SO much fun!  This family gets together frequently and I love how close they all are.  Being with them makes all my troubles disappear!  Grant had a great time, lots of good food, delicious cake made by his Grandma and a beautiful day to head outside for the pinata!  Grant is my little buddy and I love him:)

Yesterday after my visit with Brenda, the grocery store was needing to see me, hehe.  Bananas and bread were gone, so reluctantly I stopped.  Right by the door were tons of Valentine's Day goodies.  This was the first one I saw and had to snap a picture:)  I sent the pic to Autumn and Tracy, we giggled!

This morning is rainy AGAIN!  But I am staying in catching up on TOO many things to list.  Thanks to my Sister Cindy for making the hospital visit today and SO many times while I was out of town!  I appreciate you!  That's all for today, gonna finish my coffee and get started on that list!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

What a wonderful visit...

We visited Brooklyn and Autumn for much of the week.  I enjoyed it SO much and can't stand that I had to leave.  This little Great-Granddaughter of ours is PRECIOUS and learning new things every day!

When we got there, she yelled Ganky, ran to me and hugged me sooooo long.  She would stop, look up at me and start hugging me again.  It was the SWEETEST hug ever!

She hugged her Pa too!  She knows our names and calls us Ganky and Pa when she sees us.  Warms the old heart, I tell ya.

We brought her a new snuggle bear and she loved her:)

We made a trip to the Mall and visited Build-a-bear!  She got a new bear covered in hearts.  She is learning her colors, she points to each heart on the bear and says the color.  Good job B!

We visited a little kid's "play place", it is filled with toys.  Autumn takes her there to play frequently, she loves going there and so do I.

One of my favorite things was watching her putting her puzzles together.  She has lots of puzzles and knows where the pieces go.  It amazed me at how smart she is at 19 months.  Autumn spends lots of time teaching her and it shows.

Autumn is a great Mommy!  She is always doing what is best for her little girl!

I love these girlies SO much!

After we left on Saturday morning, they went to spend some time with a friend!  Swinging, smiling and having fun, wish I was still there!

It will take me a few days to catch up with all of you!  I enjoyed my time away from it all!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A month is too long...

I am needing some time with my little Great-Granddaughter Brooklyn and will be seeing her sweet face later today!  It has been a month since we have seen each other, except for FaceTime AND THAT IS TOO LONG!  I love her and her Mommy and can't wait to see them both!  B is growing like a little weed and learning new things every day!  Autumn is being the best Mommy ever while Daddy is deployed.  I know it has been hard but she is a real trooper!

Just in case I am MIA, you will know why!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Groundhog day and the SUPER BOWL...

The Georgia Groundhog Beauregard Lee says... 6 more weeks of Winter!  What does he know, it is gonna be 70 degrees today.  We may get some cold weather yet, but for today, it will feel like Spring.  For that I will be thankful!

Did you watch?  We did, every minute.  The Chiefs were behind but have lots of practice in coming back.  That's exactly what they did.  It was a great game!  The QB Patrick Mahomes is some kind of awesome!  The Chiefs haven't won the Super Bowl in 50 years!

This Coach sure deserved this win!  He has 222 wins but this was his first Super Bowl WIN!  Way to go Coach Andy Reid!

Now it is Monday, a new day and a new week!  I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Hello February...

The first day of a new month and it has an extra day!  WOW, what happened to January, POOF it's gone.  I had a couple good night's sleep (thankfully) and ready to start this new month.  I have been busy pecking away at my list of things to accomplish.  Yesterday was pantry day and it looks SO much better, thanks Tracy for the inspiration!

I am ready for the TV to be returned to us from Washington.  I watched Hoarders yesterday to keep from watching the hearings in D.C.:)  It is almost over and I will shout Hallelujah!  The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful are two shows I watch during the day:)  They CAN be watched on-line but seeing them on TV is better, in my opinion!

Time to get this Saturday, Feb 1st started!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
