April showers bring May flowers...

If April showers bring May flowers then MAY is going to be ONE big bouquet!  We have had a lot of rain and our garden is appreciating it:)  My day is just getting started with my 2nd cup of coffee!  I pray yours is going good.  Our State is supposed to be off lock-down at the end of this day except for those of us over 65.  I realize that people are still getting sick but I am really ready to be FREE!

Have a blessed last day of April dear friends, tomorrow is May Day:)  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Storms don't last forever...

I got out and about yesterday!  I broke free of quarantine and it felt good to get out of the house!  My first stop was for a free Chick-fil-a biscuit, YUMMY.  While in the drive-thru getting my biscuit it was nice that the store had encouraging signs posted.  " STORMS DON'T LAST FOREVER".  That is very true and for that I am thankful.

This one isn't too clear but it says "RISE ABOVE THE STORMS AND YOU WILL FIND THE SUNSHINE"!

My Great-Grandson Jameson will be arriving in June and his banner needed a color of paint that I didn't have in my stash.  Michael's has order-online and pick-up, SO off I go to pick it up.  To my surprise the doors opened and welcomed me inside.  There were very few people in there and all were wearing masks, including me and I enjoyed browsing a bit.  It was nice to get out but I am back inside again for a while longer.  Grocery shopping done and meals planned for another week or so.  That's all I have to report:)  Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Roses and my littlest Angel...

My Sunday started out watching my Church service on-line.  The rest of the day is kind of a blur.  I didn't accomplish anything much but did get outside in the afternoon.  The tomatoes needed a drink of water and the flowers were blooming all over the place.  The color of this yellow rose is SO pretty!

This one has the sweetest scent and stretches way up the side of the house.

I have shown this rose bush before but it is full of blooms and gets to be shown again:)

While being quarantined, this little girl keeps me going.  Autumn FaceTimes me a lot, Brooklyn just takes the phone over.  She sits the phone down and props it up, turns around and get where she can see me.  It is the cutest and sweetest part of my day.  She called back later yesterday evening so Pa could hear her sing her ABC's.  She sings ALL OF THEM and she isn't even 2 yet.  She is SO smart and I really appreciate Autumn taking the time to let us be a part of their day.

It has been SIX weeks since I started the shelter-in-place and I have cooked every day since then.  That's NO take-out and I think it is about over.  My own cooking is getting a little boring:)  We are thankful to be free of the virus, VERY THANKFUL but would like for life to return to somewhat normal!  I hope you have a wonderfully blessed day.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Lost and found...

Where's my Spring wreath for the front door?  That's how I started my day yesterday and pretty much looked for it all day:)  Up to the attic, taking some Easter decorations and still looking for the wreath.  While looking for that missing wreath, lots of sorting and sacking up things to donate/throw away!

I never gave up on finding that wreath and it's a good thing because here it is!  I can't believe where it was, packed underneath some FALL decorations in a tub.  DANG, it felt good to find it and hang it on the front door but girls... there is a mess upstairs that needs attention today!  Anybody want to help:)

So it's Saturday again, our State has opened up some businesses but I am gonna still sit it out for a while longer.  I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Getting used to the gray roots...

Oh it has been a long time since I got my hair done and it will be a while longer.  My hairdresser is opening back up with lots of precautions but I am still not going for a couple more weeks.  Nobody sees my roots but the hubby and me... sooooo they will stay gray until I feel like going:)  The one thing that would really make me happy is NOT COOKING.  That piece of the stay-in-place is getting old.

I hope you all are staying well and sane.  I am well, sane is another thing:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Rainy day...

Good morning everyone!  It's gonna be a rainy day here and stormy this afternoon.  It is the 23rd of April and this year has kinda been a blur.  I am still staying in except for an occasional trip to replenish the groceries.  Not much news here but wanted to say HI!

Enjoy your day dear friends and stay safe!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Find a blessing in everything...

I started to skip posting today but ran across this quote and decided to share it.  Life is just "flip the calendar" same thing every day lately.  The days are pretty boring and I long for normal again or the new normal, but I always try "to find a blessing in everything".  Our Governor is opening some businesses at the end of the week and early next week.  I will still wear my mask and get out with caution.  BUT... it is nice for some people struggling to keep their businesses afloat to perhaps start "bringing home the bacon" for their families.

My today will have me picking up a prescription and bananas:)  See how exciting that is, but a blessing that I can get out and grab these items.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Jump for joy...

This was a few years ago at the beach, Alex and Avery where showing their skills.  I may not jump this high but JUMP FOR JOY is what I will do when the quarantining is over.  Staying safe is important but so is seeing my Family:)  If you see an elderly lady with gray roots jumping up and down on TV, it just might be ME!

I am about to put a roast in the Crock-pot for dinner with carrots/potatoes and onions, that sounds yummy to me.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Good Sunday morning...

Good Sunday morning!  There isn't much different here to report.  I spent much of yesterday working in one of my bedrooms "the kid's room, grandkids that is" where there are no kids/grandkids!  There are lots of OLD toys, books and memories in that room.  It is a little more organized after a day of work.  The weather here was SO nice yesterday, I walked around outside and cut this pretty bouquet to put on my kitchen counter.  Fluffy white puff balls of pretty.  I will enjoy them until they start to shed.

I hope you enjoy your day!  Our Church service will be streamed on-line later and I will watch that.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYER your way!

There's a light...

It IS beginning to shine, that light at the end of the tunnel!  It is feeling like we are going to get thru this SOON.  Life will be different once we exit the tunnel but will be somewhat the same too.  It is on my heart this morning to offer encouragement to ALL who are feeling down, THIS TOO SHALL PASS!  We all have to stay strong and keep putting one day behind us as we look forward to getting one day closer to being free from isolating ourselves to keep the scary VIRUS away!

We are well, thank God for that!  We have plenty to eat and family to talk to on a daily basis!  Thank God for each one who takes the time to check on us.  We are doing things around the house to pass the time.  My hubby planted our tomatoes last night and before you know it I'll be showing you pictures of them:)  It is raining this morning and the tomato plants will drink it up to give them a good start.  Enjoying my coffee and feeling thankful this morning!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and HOPEFUL PRAYERS your way!

Roadtrips are measured by moments...

My road trip yesterday was about 10 miles and I must say it felt really good to get out.  I visited my tax lady, wore my mask and the office was set up with distance between us.  We chatted about the things we missed doing and what we were gonna do first when the stay at home order is lifted.  It was nice to chat just for a minute and THE RIDE was amazing.  I opened the sunroof, played the music LOUD and for a few minutes... felt like the world had returned to normal.  AHHHHH Normal will be welcome!

Grocery shopping today and back home... dah dah dah!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Sorry we're closed signs and a recipe...

OK, so it looks like we are getting a little closer to seeing these signs come down.  I think one of the first places I will go when it is safe:) is HOBBY LOBBY!  My Great-Grandson Jameson will be arriving mid-June and I need to make his banner.  My Mama and Daddy's cemetery is needing Spring flowers and I can't wait to go visit and freshen the flowers.  It will happen and I pray it will be soon!  Where do you plan on going when the doors open back up?

My daily question to myself, "What's for dinner"!  Well...last night we had chicken pot pie.  It is a recipe my Niece Kelly shared with me SO long ago.  It is delicious and there are leftovers for my lunch.  I have shared the recipe before but will share again just in case you missed it.

That's it for today!  I hope and pray that you all have a wonderfully blessed day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Tired of cooking...

I thought this cartoon was funny:)  Anybody else tired of cooking?  Don't get me wrong, I am thankful to have food to eat but SERIOUSLY tired of cooking EVERY SINGLE DAY!  When I grocery shop, I make a list of meals that I have to prepare.  AS we eat them, they get checked off.  The list has been running since quarantining and IT'S a LONG list!  I mostly cook every day anyway but do slip in an occasional drive-thru or pick-up food to go.  The only food we have eaten in over a month is prepared at home.  This shall pass, I fully believe it but IT needs to speed up!  I miss my family, heck... I miss strangers.  The pest control guy just rang the doorbell and I waved thru the glass door... I was even happy to see him:)

Enjoy your day dear friend, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Smiles on the NOT SO normal Easter...

This sweet girl made me happy on the NOT SO normal Easter Sunday!  She enjoyed her Easter basket goodies and loved hunting eggs with her Mommy and Daddy!  She FaceTimes with me daily, next best thing to being there.

Hopefully next year we can ALL be together for Easter and little Jameson will be there too!

The rest of the day was just like all the others lately.  I watched the Church Service, cooked dinner and prepared our storm shelter just in case we had a tornado warning.  I woke up at 12:30 and again at 3:00 or so to check the radar.  We are fine but lots of people had damage from the wind and possible tornadoes.

Enjoy your day dear friend, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Welcome...

A couple days ago I went up the attic stairs to gather some of my Easter pretties.  I thought about just skipping the decorations but HEY... it made me feel happy to get them out.  My little Welcome Bunny is hanging on the front door.  Nobody is coming but if they did, they would be welcome:)

One of my favorite bunnies, Spring/Easter colors:)

This little bunny family has been with me for a REALLY long time and I love them!

This lady bunny is ready for Easter with her bonnet:)

I think that tomorrow morning, I will get up and be thankful for what that day means, put me on a pretty dress and watch Church service on-line.  Corona-virus isn't going to cancel Easter, we will just be doing things a little different... AND looking forward to better days when we can be together again!

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

April showers bring May flowers...

We had a good rain overnight, thankfully I slept thru it.  Lots of people lost power but not us.  We are still quarantining and honestly getting tired of it.  I know it is what we need to do, but HEY... I don't have to like it.  Grocery shopping is on my GOTTA DO LIST, not today but tomorrow.  We still have food and I am being creative with making something good for our big evening meal.  Anybody else about to jump off the deep end, just kidding of course:)

I do get out and walk up and down the driveway during the day.  LOOKIE what I saw!  My snowball bush is bursting with blooms.  My Sister Barbara gave me this many years ago.  Hmmmm, should I cut it back this Fall?  Gotta google that!

Yep, you know it's bad when you take a selfie with the Bunny Ears snapchat filter:)

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Just a rockin'...

Late yesterday afternoon, after a full day of being inside, I sat on the front porch in the rocking chair.  Just being still and being thankful for SO much and SO many!  While sitting there, I was thinking about my Mama and how much she loved her rocking chair on the front porch.  Memories are precious.  Autumn and Brooklyn Face-timed me while I was doing some serious rocking.  They are a bright spot in my day!

Staying in and staying well.  That's the goal.  What's for dinner?  Not sure today but I will think up something yummy.  Last night we had tilapia, hush puppies, hash brown potatoes and baked beans.  It was SO good.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Believe good things are on the way...

Trying to stay positive, believing that good things are on the way!  Each day we wake up, we are another day closer to getting through this MESS!  I know that you and I will be happy when things get back to "NORMAL" whatever that is going to look like!  BELIEVE!

When I walked out after dinner last night, look how fresh and green my hydrangeas are looking!  Pretty green leaves and little buds!  Oh yes, GOOD THINGS ARE ON THE WAY!

Enjoy your day dear friends, not much new to report here but still like to say HI!  Quarantining continues!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

What I am up to...

My sweet little Great-Granddaughter Brooklyn enjoys being outside.  Her Mama and Daddy are always doing something creative with her.  The chalk flower garden is growing daily:)  I love them and miss them SO much.  Autumn makes sure I get to see what they are doing and it truly makes my day!

My days are DULL (trying not to complain but can't help it a little) and I spend some time every day outside.  That is hard because of the pollen.  But... it is nice to get out and smell the roses, the scent of these roses is heavenly!  My Brother Leon gave me two rose bushes MANY years ago.  One didn't make it but one did:)  The flowers on the right were given to me by my Sister Barbara MANY years ago.  They come up every year at the edge of the woods and are SO pretty!

Each night... I ask myself  "what's for dinner" and this is what we had last night!  Taco pie, cheese dip and chips.  It was a different recipe than I usually make and was really delicious.  HERE is a link to the recipe.

My Niece Kelly posted this on FB and it is exactly how I am feeling.  I'm sick of eatin' groceries too.  BUT... with the week ahead looking to be the worst one yet, I AM STAYING HOME.  I will cook every last meal in my house before getting out again.  Scary times we are living in, I am praying a lot and thankful we are well.

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Dreaming of normal days...

No, I am not on a boat but I wanna be:)  I decided to post a picture of a time when we were free to be sailing around the ocean, enjoying time with family on vacation.  We will be like that again and I CAN'T WAIT!  In the meantime, I will sit out by my pool and catch a few rays when I feel like it.  It is a lonesome time we are in right now, but we will survive.  I am thankful to family for keeping in touch.  We are all missing each other, THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

Just dreaming of normal days!  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

**Latane "Accidentally Aging"  I left a couple comments, did you get them?**  Email me your email address and I will try to help you get your comments again.  Your blog doesn't have an email connected.  Hope you get it fixed.

Good morning, Have a beautiful day...

Good morning friends!  I hope you are having a zippeedeeeedoodahday!  The sun is shining and the calendar says it is Friday.  Anybody else having trouble keeping up with what day it is?  The day starts out like this... "today will be the day to accomplish some SPRING cleaning and clearing out".  Sometimes there just seems to be things that get in the way, OH WELL... perhaps today:)

Hang in there, we will all make it through this very trying time in our lives.  Stay safe and stay well.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

I WILL STAY POSITIVE, repeat...

We survive not being together by keeping in touch with each other like these two ladies:)  While we can't be together, FaceTiming and chatting or texting is how we visit these days.  I am thankful to be healthy while staying in.  I am keeping Amazon in business and running to get a few groceries when absolutely needed.  Let's just keep encouraging each other and doing our part!  I WILL STAY POSITIVE, repeat:)

Have a blessed day dear friends, this WILL end and I look forward to that day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Goodbye March, Hello April...

Goodbye March, HELLO April!  March 2020 is one I won't soon forget.  I pray April will be good to us!  Spring flowers and sunshine, that would make us all smile!

There isn't much to talk about today, same thing as yesterday, staying home and missing seeing people!  BUT... thankful we are well and praying for better days ahead for our Country.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
