Now there are FIVE...

In the early morning hours of September 28th, my Sister Brenda passed away.  She was 70 years young.  So many of you have followed along, and faithfully prayed as she was in and out of the hospital especially over the last year and a half.  Her heart, liver and kidneys couldn't make it another day and she went to be with Jesus.  I have always loved when we were all together, 2 Brothers and 4 Sisters.  This picture was at my Aunt's funeral in 2017.  It has never been ok with me to take a sibling picture when we weren't all there.  There have always been SIX of us and now there are FIVE.  I won't get used to that and it is going to be so sad without our Sister Brenda.  My heart is broken and our family will miss her SO much.  Brenda and I went to the doctor a lot over the years and we spent lots of treasured time together when she was in rehab.  I am so thankful for EVERY moment, EVERY conversation and our daily text messages.  We love you Brenda and our family will never be the same without you!

We always took THAT picture (that's what I called our selfie).  This was one we took recently when we were at a doctor appointment smiling behind the masks.

This was several years ago at one of her Birthday lunches.  She kept that plaque in her bedroom even today.

One of our doctor visits recently...

This was when she delivered chicken casserole to me years ago.  I wasn't feeling well and she surprised me.  I told her she shouldn't have because it wasn't long after she had her knee replacement surgery...

When Brenda retired from her job in 2012...  She was a VERY happy lady!

Brenda, Heaven is brighter today with your sweet smile.  Give Mama and Daddy a hug and tell them how our family has grown and how much we love and take care of each other.

Have a blessed day dear friends!  I am thankful for each and every one of you!  Prayers are appreciated for our family!  I will be spending today with my little Great-grandbabies, I need those sweet hugs and smiles!

Sweet 16...

My precious granddaughter Alex turned 16 yesterday!  The years have flown by since she was driving this little toy car to being behind the wheel of that big one.  I pray that she will be safe as she starts her journey of being 16 and driving without her coach (aka Mom) in the passenger's seat.

The years just fly by, I think I said that already but it is still true... that little girl isn't so little anymore and honestly that makes me sad!

We had dinner last night at the restaurant of her choice and she truly enjoyed it.  Her Mama had a yummy cake and she loved all of her presents.  I love you Alex forever and always!

There's another post coming about yesterday... tomorrow

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

32 years ago today...

32 years ago today my precious Mama went to be with the Lord!  Our family tried our best to pull together in the days and years after she moved on to her Heavenly home.  Our family has grown SO much, I know Mama is proud of our love we ALL have for each other.  I miss her every day and always want to make her memory live on.  I chose this picture because I believe it is one of the last pictures of Mama, Daddy and all SIX kids!  Love, Love, Love my family!

This picture... my heart would like to go back to this day and squeeze my Mama one more time!  I miss you Mama!

Enjoy your day dear friends, I pray it is a great one!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Slow to bloom...

My hydrangeas have been slow to bloom this year.  We cut them way back and I think they didn't like that:)  BUT, they are blooming now.

The colors change from lavender to bright blue.  I just love seeing these big fluffy balls of beauty in from of my house.

It's Saturday and another week checked off!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

My Sister Brenda and me...

In our family... when someone is in the hospital, we visit!  With the lock down because of the virus, you just can't go to see your loved ones:(  I got to talk to my sister Brenda yesterday and it was very nice to hear her voice.

"Brenda, I pray that each day is better than the day before and you can get back home.  Love you and praying for you"!

Yum yum and prayer request...

My day starts out sitting in my favorite chair with my coffee, watching the news/weather and most days thinking about "what's for dinner"!  This is what we had last night.  It is the best recipe "Kelly's Chicken Pot Pie", a recipe shared from my Niece Kelly:)  We had a couple sides of corn and broccoli, SO delicious.

It's officially FALL although the temps are going to warm up a bit and humidity will return temporarily, but it it is still nice.  My Sister Brenda is in the hospital and I would appreciate your prayers for her to get better and get back home.  It is really hard with the Covid restrictions... we can't visit.  I love you Brenda and praying for you to feel better and better each day!

Happy Last Day of Summer...

I have blogger's block so I will just say "Happy Last Day of Summer" and enjoy your day.  Not much happening around here just checking off another day on the calendar.  I am thankful that we are healthy with food on the table and a roof over our heads!  We have stayed home for much of this year and as Pooh says, "HOME IS THE COMFIEST PLACE TO BE".  That's true, Pooh, that's true!  It is going to be another glorious day of FALLISH weather.  I might head to the park for a walk in a little while or clean a closet, decisions/decisions:)

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

It's starting to look like Fall...

Yes, it is starting to look like Fall.  This is the last weekend of Summer.  There are leaves beginning to fall and the temps are dropping a little every day.  I don't really care for COLD weather but Autumn is a breath of fresh air to me after all we have been thru in 2020.

It is time to put some fall color on the porch and change the flowers at my Parent's cemetery plot.  That's what I will be working on today when my feet get moving!  I pray you all have a beautiful day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Rain and New blogger is here to stay...

The rain is here, it rained all night and looks to be rainy most of the day!  You know what?  That's ok with me.  We have plenty to eat and no plans outside of the house.  Sometimes just staying in while the rain is falling makes for a perfect day.

It looks like old blogger is GONE:(  No longer an option to revert.  Oh well... we will see if you can teach an "old dog" new tricks:)  Have a blessed and safe Thursday, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A new flag and a walk in the park...

We always have a flag at the front of our property.  The old one was a little faded to suit me, so we got a new one.  I love this flag and its bright red, white and blue colors.  Thanks to my husband for buying it and installing a new pole:)

I needed to get out of the house yesterday and ended up walking at the local park.  There was another lady walking and me, that's all but I got a good walk in.  Had plans on doing it again today but it is raining.  If I can get a break in the weather, you will find me here:)

We are going to get lots of rain from the hurricane starting tomorrow according to the weather forecast.  We could use some rain, so I won't complain.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Not much hap'nin...

Not much to report here but I try not to skip many days of blogging:)  We have to stay in touch with our blog-buddies.  The weather is supposed to be a little cooler this week and we may get some rain.  That's fine with me.  I talked about getting out some FALLISH decor but just never made it up to the attic, perhaps today?  No pressure since it is still hot outside and another week until it is officially FALL!

Happy Anniversary to my Daughter Tracy and Son-in-law Derek!  I hope you all have a beautiful day!  Love you both SO MUCH!

That's it for my morning chat.  I am still enjoying my coffee and thinking what I can do to fill my day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Time to change the decor...

It's still hot where I live but FALL is on my mind:)  Perhaps today I will pull out a few things to jump-start the beginning of another Season.  We are ready for changes, aren't we?  I have been enjoying seeing all of the decorations that you all have been showing.  You inspire me:)

I stayed in yesterday and watched a lot about 9/11, remembering that day and all the lives lost.  We all came together on 9/12/01... we need to do it again!  Enjoy your Saturday dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Remembering

Remembering that morning of 9/11, where I was and what I heard and felt.  Prayers for all of the families who lost loved ones that day in 2001.  May we never forget...

It's a new day so shine on...

It's a new day...  AND it looks like another beauty!  I start out my day chatting with my Daughter on her drive back from taking the girls to school.  We talk about what we are doing that day, what we had for dinner the night before and perhaps what we are cooking that day and lots of other topics:)  Anyway, while I am drinking my coffee it is nice to have a little chat with my GIRL!  TODAY?  Not much going on for me yet.  We had a yummy meatloaf and veggies last night and perhaps chicken pot pie today.  I will find something to keep me busy until time to start rattling the pots and pans:)

Enjoy your day dear friends, hope you SHINE ON whatever you do!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

On-line just isn't the same...

This is where I would like to be.  This is our picture from last year, but because of the virus the Yellow Daisy Festival is on-line only this year.  Tracy and I have been going every year for some time!  Autumn and Brooklyn joined us last year.  It is always hot but SO much fun.  On-line just isn't going to be the same.  I pray we can pick up where we left off in 2021!

What are y'all up to these days?  Our days are pretty much the same around here and we are looking forward to more normal life ahead.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

The daisies are getting their bloom on...

It is Sunday morning and I pray you all are happy and healthy.  This is kinda a flashback post to when my "Swamp Daisies" were blooming.  I chose a few pictures from past posts because they are getting ready to bloom again:)

They are budding and will soon look like this!

I am having my tasty coffee and watching the weather folks talk about what a glorious day we are going to have!  I hope the same for you!  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

A very busy GOOD week...

My week has been very busy but SO GOOD!  My little Great-Grandbabies and their Mommy came to visit for the week.  They will be leaving this morning to go back home and I miss them already!  I went to see them most every day and enjoyed every moment.  I didn't take a lot of pictures because we were just busy having fun:)  Here are a few pics I took...  Jameson and his Mommy, Brooklyn helping her Nana do a little mopping B-Left, Jameson is growing so fast (he needed the next size clothes, so we shopped), Brooklyn is always entertaining with her cute personality.  Thank you Autumn for making the trip, love you ALL!

I pray they have a safe trip back home, I know that their Daddy will be happy to see their sweet faces.  Enjoy your Saturday dear friends, I am behind in most everything and will be trying to get caught up.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

What makes my heart happy...

What makes a Ganky's heart happy?  Spending the day with these little ones!  We had a great time, lots of happy smiles and hugs!  They are growing like little weeds and I am thankful that their Mommy brought them to visit!

TWO Great-Grandbabies, what a wonderful blessing, filling my heart with love!

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Not much happening, except today is different...

I took a couple days off from blogging because there's hasn't been much new to talk about, the days kinda look alike!  I am happy to say that today won't look like the others because these two little ones are in town:)  I will finish my coffee and head to get some snuggles.  They sure give me a load of smiles:)

Our weather has been HOT and HUMID and it doesn't look like it will let up anytime soon.  I got some catching up to do with you all:)  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
