One year, grief doesn't know that...

For one year I have missed you, my precious Sister Barbara (AKA NANNY, AKA DEAR NANNY)!  ONE YEAR I have wished you were still with us.  SO many loved ones miss you.

It is hard to pick just one picture for this memory post, SO I picked a bunch!  SWEETEST, my dear Sister!

If you made it to the end of this post, thank you.  My grief is with me every day for all of my family members in Heaven.  I make it, but it isn't easy.  If you don't know this kind of grief, be thankful!  I will leave you with this song.  Dancing in the Sky  It has been posted on FB a couple times recently and I can't get it out of my head.  We will gather for lunch today at Barbara's favorite hot dog joint, she will be smiling seeing us all together in her memory.

Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Busy week, lots of pics...

Pretty bouquet of flowers delivered to my Mama's best friend, Henrietta.  She will be 94 in June.  What a blessing to sit and chat about everything under the sun.  Celene, her daughter is my lifetime best friend.  I love them both and the entire family.  She said that I always make her day, she always makes my day too!

A warm sunny day was perfect for a visit with my Parents.  I freshened the flowers and it always feels good to visit, I love them!

I visited my precious Brother Marshall too, sat down on the warm grass, picked up the leaves and left him a little gift.  The little cardinal.  Beautiful Valentine flowers were there!  I miss him and while I try to know that he is in a much better place, free of pain... I just wish I could lay my head on his chest like I always did and say "I love you My Brother" He would respond "I love you my Sister":(

When I got home on Valentine's Day, there was the sweetest gift waiting for me!  It sure made me smile.  Thank you Kelly!  I love you!

These two cuties made my Valentine's Day special.  Autumn gave them a few kisses, hehe:)

How many times did I read this Dino book to Jameson, as many times as he wanted me to... and it was a bunch!

It was a busy week.  We attended Alex's Boyfriend Timmy's final home basketball game.  It was a nail biter but they pulled it out.  We have enjoyed watching him play!

Alex and Avery are both running track.  It's their first year to participate at this school and both are doing great!  That isn't an easy sport (in my opinion).

It's a new week, I am feeling better and thankful for that.  Grocery shopping to do and some much needed cleaning.  I sure hope you all are healthy and happy.  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

It's my Sister's b'day in Heaven...

Today is my Sister Brenda's Birthday.  She is celebrating in Heaven with way too many of our family members.  If she was still here, I would call her to sing, I would buy her something that she would absolutely love and I would give her the biggest hugs.  BUT... she isn't here and all I have on this 72nd Birthday of hers are some of the most precious memories.  I cherish those and will love her and miss her all the days of my life.  This picture is Brenda on the left and me on the right:)  I always posted it on her birthday.  Brenda loved reading my blog and I hope she can see it today from her Heavenly home!

This was at one of Brenda's birthday lunches.  Brenda was known for her beautiful smile:)  I learned many years ago from my Daddy to stop taking pictures of everyone else and get in the pictures.  I sure am thankful for that lesson.

Another Birthday celebration, she took the ribbon off the package that I gave her and put it on her head:)

This was on Brenda's 70th birthday.  I bought her a crown and told her "every princess needs a crown".  She was sick but was really happy with her crown!  When she passed away September 28th of that year, we were putting together the table at her memorial service, my Niece Regina brought the crown.  I sure was happy to see that crown again.  I love you Brenda and miss you every day!

I am fighting a cold, boo hoo.  I told my Sister Cindy today that I am seldom sick but when I am "I am pitiful":)  This too shall pass...  Enjoy your weekend dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Celebrating...

We celebrated my Great-Nephew Ethan and His Fiancé Madison's engagement and New House yesterday!  It was great to be with family and friends.  Beautiful home and a wonderful party for the sweetest couple!

Yummy food and delicious sweets!

Happy Valentine's Day!  My Sweetheart always gives me 3 cards, he picks out the best ones:)  I am so thankful for HIM!

He surprised me with a dozen yellow roses too:) (my FAVE)

I was leaving to go to the housewarming yesterday and caught a glimpse of the first blooms of the year at the edge of the woods!  I stopped the car and walked over to snap a picture:)  They were transplants from my old family home place!  I love them!

It has been a busy weekend, I visited my Parent's cemetery to freshen the flowers, visited my Brother Marshall's grave too!  I sure miss them all!

Congrats to the Super bowl champion Rams!  We enjoyed finger foods while watching the game.  A fire roaring in the fireplace, it was a perfect evening!  Have a wonderful Valentine's Day dear friends, I am headed out shortly to spend the day with my sweet little Great-grandbabies and take them some Valentine goodies!  Enjoy your day, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Sweetgum balls and fried squash...

We had sweetgum balls in our yard when I was growing up and we have them all over the place where we live.  They are a nuisance, my Daddy used to say, "they'll trip you up" and he was so right!  I usually walk up to the garbage after dinner, last night... those sweetgum balls tripped me up, just like my Daddy said:)  I sure thought about him when I went a stumbling:)

Our dinner was SO good and one dish was better than the others.  My Mama used to fry squash, that's what I did last night.  We don't eat many fried things, I mostly bake (for healthy eating) but last night... fried squash was what we had.  I thought about my Mama and how many of those little round circles of goodness she cooked!  They were good but not as good as my Mama's were:)

Yesterday I sorted toys:)  I call it "the Kid's Room" or "the Bunk Room" but it is filled with toys.  One day Brooklyn said "I have never seen anything like this, there are toys everywhere".  I spent time remembering all of the kids, big and small playing with those toys:)  A special walk down memory lane.

Today is grocery day, gotta go for some meats and the hubby is out of bananas:)  I hope you all have an incredibly blessed day!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Our Groundhog says EARLY SPRING...

Our Groundhog "Beauregard Lee" did not see his shadow so that means an Early Spring:)  We will see if he predicted correctly!  I will be OK with that but it really hasn't been a bad Winter.

My Great-Nephew's children had a birthday party on Saturday, Grant 6 and Kennedy 2.  It was SO much fun and I got to see lots of family that I didn't get to see at Christmas.

I visited with my Great-Grandbabies on Monday and got lots of hugs and smiles.  Seeing Brooklyn and Jameson really makes my heart happy!

Yesterday was grocery shopping day, checked that off my list.  Lots of shelves were empty just like it has been reported.  But my freezer, fridge and pantry are full for about 10 days.  We eat mostly at home and need some delicious food to cook:)  Here is a recipe that I tried and it was very yummy.  My Brother-in-law Jerry joined us for dinner and he loved it too.  I changed it a bit based on comments.  Baked the stuffed crescent rolls first before putting the sauce.  It keeps them from being soggy on the bottom.  Sorry we had already dug in before I thought to take a picture:)

Here is the link to the recipe:)  Of course hers looks much better than mine but it was really tasty and I will make it again.

I hope all is well with my Blog friends!  Although I haven't been regularly blogging because there hasn't been that much going on... I am still here and thankful for that!

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
